  1. Hi,
I  have a question for maintaining 12v tracks and motors,

The motor speed at the first run was so fast that passenger coaches were derailed at the corner but after 10~12 mins running, it has become slower and stops in the middle of the track.

So I though I may need some lubrication work and cleaning rails properly.
Is spraying grease like Super lube works for lubricating 12v motors? or would affect solder part or plastic?
or is there any tips for lubricating 12v motors?

Also, cleaning the conductor rail, would whiskey or alcohol spirit with cloth work? as black spot does not go away.

    Thank you.

  2. one of my annual events around this time : waiting TLG to reveal next year's modular set. There has been a rumour that 2021 modular designer is Jamie, which is good for me and police station...

hmmmm. whatever it would be police station or something else, please keep the tone of this year's modular at least....not like CG that the design was...quite in between...wish 2021 modular would be a classical post office!

Absolute hit. The exterior is great, and I don't care much about the interior.

I skipped the last two modulars, but this one is a must buy.

i concur ! Interior is important but for modular, after seeing DD and CG, such a level of exterior design of Bookstore is...truly another level, that I could proudly put next to AS.

Ah, so they did. I have found it. I think that's an early oopsie! *oh2*

Anyway, this Modular looks awesome. After several fairly angular ones, it's a breath of fresh air to see so much roundedness. It does look a tad small, but so very attractive, and nice to see them do another one with two seperable buildings.

do agree way better than those 2 previous ones. relatively smaller but more story more detail more beautiful!

That is adorable! I hope it’s real

Great that it’s another split modular too. The Shop on the left would suit lots of different “boutique” shops in an upmarket shopping street, and the house on the right looks like it can very easily be modded into different coloured houses by replacing the turquoise bricks and canopy over the window. A rainbow row of houses anyone?

I think i’ll be buying quite a few of these!

If this is the official model, (it seems so more than 90%) then so soooooooo good!!!! returned to its more European classic style ( IMO) !!!! Way better than DD and CG!!! I will definitely go  for it! Also, it is my 100% own opinion but could sense a bit or bricked1980's style from the design...,which I do like most

  6. I found this image from Korean Lego youtube creator, saying the image will be unveiled at 2pm GMT 6 Dec with clue key words 'Petshop' and 'Bookstore'

Seems like box art of 2020 Modular set with blue line on right hand side with white blurred thing (expert logo??) . Since one of key words 'petshop,' is mentioned, probably 2 separated building type?

I love the crazy amount of hype the modular buildings topic gets at this time of year. Literally all we get is 1 set every 12 months, so when the time finally comes for it to be unveiled... oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, we're following the topic and refreshing by the second.

Let's hope reveal's today instead of friday!

One of my annual events, expecting next year's modular set though I stopped buying since DD.

That image on the Facebook page looks a bit fake to me. The buildings in the background are similar to the graphics that Lego use on the modular box artwork but not quite the same. Also at the bottom in small print it says "2019 The Lego Group" but no copyright symbol next to it which would usually be there.

    ~ Very sharp observation !!!

That's quite the specific question!  What are you looking to know in particular, though?  Are you wondering why the change was made, curious about other differences over time, trying to authenticate a set, etc.?

My question is that whether such a change made the green tray more stronger, as I was told that some of those early version's tray was so thin and could be easily broken compared to later version. I wonder train tech fan in this forum could tell the differences between two.

I have recently bought a 7740 set and was told that there are two versions of green tray of early 12v trains sets' packaging.

The early one has no side support in every corner of the green tray with relatively narrower top surface, whereas later version has thicker top surface and triangle support in each corner.

In terms of tray's wall, I was told that early version is thinner and later versions.

Any detail or knowledge train tech fans know about the difference of 12v train boxes packaging?

I can dig it. Although it seems strange because I have never seen a gas station with something above it (other than a roof-like structure to shelter from the rain). I wouldn't really want to work/live above a gas station...

haha:laugh_hard:yes  neither of us but in modular town...yes even veterinarian office is also with gas station hahahah if the rumour is true

The video was saying they would talk about the new modular on next week's episode. Not that Lego are announcing next weekend.

Me too i believe the lego ambassador's post more.

regarding your post, in the video, it says  we will be 'announcing' our brand new lego creator expert modular building. if that youtube channel is not some sort of 'official' lego channel then..ok fine ~:sweet:

    came across this article  https://www.stonewars.de/geruechte/lego-modular-2019/

if the Auto repair shop or  garage would be the next modular theme...then this concerns me that the focus on building's design aspect might be slightly less than other theme as probably there would be at least one or two cars.... Earlier in this thread someone mentioned that a car was included in DD so would hardly see the repetition of adding car in 2019 modular but....it seems that there is no more 'certain' rules for modular line anymore. one of the rules that 1corner 3 non-corner building rule seems also long gone story....so...can't even guess in which style this 2019 modular would look like.... but please be classical design...like CC or GG.....

  14. TLG has really really tightened up the security level every year and this year...we don't even have a clue..so based on previous calendar when we were told the leak pic of lego modualr set, will we hear something around next week? last year the leak pic of DD was around 18 Nov and AS was 17 Oct,even the official pic pf BB was released around 12 Oct 2015....But this year...no clue at all.. HA.
