    VIDEO Review: 6276 Eldorado Fortress

Still have mine, which I got for Christmas all those years ago. Still built, still mint, even though I played with it incessantly. Still my favorite Lego set ever.

My first moc on this forum

It's got a great shape for a first vessel!

    PtV: Bartholemew Robbins

The hat.... on the teddy bear.... possibly the greatest thing I'll see all day. I love how simple this MOC is, yet it tells a very detailed story. Excellent!

    Blacksmith Duel

This little gem is excellent! one of the things that caught my eye is the way you have the chains hanging from the wall - I might steal that idea for one of my projects. I really like the way you caught all the action in such a small scene. Very well done!

    MOC Fully Loaded Little Ship

    Very awesome!

    Topsail Schooner "Lady Kathryn"

Thanks! If I were building it again there are several things I'd do differently, but I do like the way it turned out. Hoping to get some sails on it soon.

    Topsail Schooner "Lady Kathryn"

I also thought long and hard about how to add a tumblehome to this ship, but a lot of the sources I looked at agreed with you - that tumblehomes on ships this size either were minimal or nonexistent. But then schooners of the 18th and early-19th Centuries could vary quite a bit in size, so if I were building a later-period schooner I could make it larger than this one and include a tumblehome. It also would be easier to do an early-19th Century schooner from a construction standpoint because the top decks tended to be much more flush to each other and the angle of the stern was considerably sharper than on earlier schooners such as the one on which I patterned mine. I would like to do another schooner sometime - one from the early-19th Century. I've got my eye on building the USS Hamilton, which sunk with USS Scourge in the Great Lakes in a storm during the War of 1812. I'm fascinated by the large pivoting deck cannon on Hamilton, and I think it would be a fun build. Thanks for the comment!

    2016 LEGO Pirate Set Wishlists

It didn't seem to me that TLG did much to support this year's pirate line, so I am not surprised they aren't doing more. Not only do I not remember seeing anything Pirates in the magazine, but I work for a major retailer and none of our stores I went to had any sets but the ones under $20, then didn't get restocked. Am didn't hear about the Ninjago pirates subtheme until just now, so hopefully wecan do some things with that.

    MOC: Earthquake

This is amazing and sad at the same time. Very well built, and very nicely detailed. I'm both impressed and depressed!

The history of Skull Rock Part 4 - The Lighthouse

My vote is for the hammock, as well, but I do love the rescue gun!
  13. Cool! I saw parts 2 and 3 but missed part one. Think I'll go right now and check out part 4!

25? Wow! I only have around 10. Guess I'd better start building more ships!

New Member MOC - HMS Yellowjacket (WIP)

Thanks for the updates! Good to see you've still been working on, and I like the direction your going. I don't know if it's just the way the picture is, but the ship looks a bit short fore to aft. Any major issues in construction?

In an island somewhere in the Caribbean...

The conquistadors in the pot with the fish - that is my favorite part. All in all I enjoyed this project of yours - thanks for sharing!

Amazed. Absolutely. This made my day!

    [MOC] H2O Delivered

    Phenomenal. Very imaginative!
  22. Very clever telling the story through add-ons to your build - I never thought of doing something like that. I'd be worried leaving that much powder under the care of militia, though - might have a careless pipe-smoker among them!

The History of Skull Rock Part 2 - The Smugglers

Very nice! I like the little tunnel.
  24. I also bought a lot of parts from online, including hulls. I found it to be cheaper than buying a few ships outright as sets for the parts, and I was able to be more selective in choosing parts. The drawback to that is that I had to hunt for the right parts online, and I rarely was able to find exactly what I needed. Just took a look at your ship - amazing! I wonder how it escaped my attention?? Wish I'd seen it before I built my schooner!

    [MOC] Watchtower on Sabatina

Wow! Lots of color! The water is very eye-catching and I do like that telescope. So many details it'll take me a while to take it all in. Also good to see someone building for the Bluecoats, incomparable heroes that they are. Oh, and I also love the tan corners on a white building - I'm actually using that same scheme on my current project!
