Nice story and build! I like how you textured the wall Good job!
-
Nice tower! I like the rockwork, and the fact that you have (I think) mixed in some old bleys to give it some more color variation. Good job
-
Nice messenger! The minifig posture, leaning forward, and the flailing banners gives a feeling of speed. Good job
-
Nicely situated keep! I like the winding path up the cliff, you managed to get it to look good in a small amount of space I like the angles, and I'm a sucker for rock arches. Well done!

Very nice interior scene! And an exciting story to boot Looks like handles on the throne, is it movable?

Good job on the flowing water! I think you got the angles down well which makes it look very realistic. The rockwork and the tower are nice too

[MOC] 1/65 Scale Tower of Orthanc with full interior
Full Plate replied to Ryuuroden's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow!! The pure vastness of the tower is really mindblowing! And still the details of the texturing looks really great. But for me, the interior is where this really shines. You obviously put a lot of planning into all the rooms and it has turned out awesome! If I had to pick one favorite detail it would be those lit chandeliers, they look absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately I am far away from Chicago and won't be able to see it, but I hope you will have a great time there, and with this showpiece in tow, I'm sure you will Excellent job man! -
This looks really awesome! My kids (and me) would love this! So much to explore. You really did a great job making each area of the castle accessible. How sturdy is it? I'm especially thinking of those large opening parts of the walls, would they break if a kid slammed it a bit too hard? In any case, you did a really great job here!

Very nice diorama! It looks like a really cozy place (except for the ongoing slaughter ofc ). I like the crops and trees, and the minifig setup is well done too. Great job!

Wow! Thank you all so much for you kind words and feedback! I'm really happy you enjoyed the build Thank you so much guys! I'm happy you like the tree technique. It was quite a hassle to make, but with all this it was worth it To be honest, when figuring out the technique I actually started with regular bars, but cost was a bit prohibitive, so I decided to go with axes, both because of the irony of it all and the fact that they're dirt cheap In the end I think it gave the right gnarly feel to the bark, which was what I was going for. Thanks Dee! Your thoughtful feedback is always very much appreciated! Thanks for the credits and the guidance! This is my first time posting a build here, so I appreciate the guidance. Hopefully I did it right I guess that puts me at the four that is needed for approval (unless Gideon's +1 was just for the foliage?), is that correct? That's just what I thought as well! But yeah, I enjoy building greenery, so Avalonia seemed like the obvious choice. Thanks guys! That's some high praise And having one of my builds compared to DC's stuff definitely made my day! Thank you Sir! Thanks man! When I just arrived here to EB your Amortug build both blew me away and inspired me to build. Hopefully one day I can do the same for others And thanks for the frontpage post

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Full Plate replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you all for your warm welcome! Posted my first free build yesterday and just wanted to check I did everything I should in connection with it. So much to read to get it right feels like So, I posted it and posted a link in the Free Build Registration. This will allow it to possibly score points for the guild somehow, correct (although the thread seems out of date)? Should I post it somewhere else as well? Also, since I tried to claim some UoP credits I also posted links in the UoP thread and made a UoP tracker post for myself. So now I just have to wait for approvals and then change my tracking thread, is that correct? Is there an easy way to see who is in what guild btw? Guild signup threads have some lists, but some seem slightly out of date (which I can totally understand). Perhaps you just learn over time as you get to know people? Thanks once again! -
