Love it! The all-Lego look really makes this stand out from all the other entries, and the way that the photo is framed with the flames is a really nice touch.

Lovely build, the colors look great and I really like the smooth look of the sand. If you connect the headlight bricks together as he did, they should be able to stay in place (with a curve due to the lip of the brick) without needing any sort of tubing inside. It's not incredibly sturdy, but it's not too flimsy either.

Very nice! The purple looks great as usual, and the angles are impressive. I don't think the tan works all that well in the landscape, though. I think it has too much contrast with the dark purple; some darker color (probably brown, or maybe dark tan) would probably work better and fit the overall style of the MOC.

This is a great scene, especially the water. However, I feel that in some ways it's perhaps a bit too generic in terms of style. Maybe it's just because I've gotten tired of seeing the standard green landscape with rocks and water, but I'd like to see something a bit more unique, I think, whether technically or stylistically. Still, a great MOC!

In times of famine and food shortages, most Avalonians stayed in Avalonia, peacefully tilling their fields, harvesting crops, or hunting animals. Gremlon and Elisa, however, decided to deal with the food shortages in a different way. As such, they went to a small isle in Nocturnus... ...to raid the homes of the evil Nocturnians to get food for the more-deserving Avalonians! I decided to take a bit of a different approach to the challenge, as you can see . Note that though I'm an Avalonian, this MOC is set in Nocturnus - hence the colors and fairly dark overall look. Thanks for viewing! You can see more pics in the flickr album.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Thanks for the update! I think you missed Morkerna (probably because mocpages was having some issues with images); you can see it here (outlined in yellow). -
Thanks! Well, the challenge said that you could show your character procuring food somehow; stealing all the food from houses in Nocturnus works from what I could see, even if it may not be the most conventional approach to the challenge Thanks! I decided to go with clear water since I thought blue would look odd next to the blue of the landscape. With the lighting, the clear water has a slight yellowish tint, which I thought looked nice and appropriate for Nocturnus.

Husbandry challenge -The Scaly Scavengers

Great entry! The wall looks fantastic, and the rocks are pretty good other than the gaps between the layers. I'm not entirely sure what I think of the lime green river though....I'm thinking that dark green or sand green might look better, although the lime is certainly unique! -

How is this connection even possible?
Halhi 141 replied to icarusbird's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There's several ways in which it could be done, but I think the simplest would be to use some of these pieces (mounted a few plates below the tiles) to attach the vertical section. -
Before the war, life in the isle of Morkerna was simple. Everyone lived peacefully, and the town was reasonably safe. And I was innocent. I was a young girl with few worries. I was happy. Isolated as it is, I had hoped that the war wouldn't affect Morkerna much. Indeed, at first, it seemed as though life would go on as normal. But the war affects everyone, and avoiding it can only delay its effects. The impact was subtle at first: a few men gone to battle, an old knight killed. But as time went on, the war began to change Morkerna even more. The atmosphere became tense; nobody felt safe, and it seemed like a fight could break out any minute. People that I knew began to be killed. Life had changed. After a month, I realized that I needed to do something. One day, I saw children walking down a road pushing a catapult, preparing to fight. When I returned home that night, I found my parents dead, killed by supporters of the Desert King. That was when I realized that if I didn't get involved in the war, everyone would be changed for the worse. I joined the armies of Ulandus and went into battle. We went through many battles, large and small... Along the way, I met a wizard named Gremlon. I took up his offer of protection, and he saved my life during a failed siege. But all the same, I do not trust him; he is too unwilling to share information. It feels as though there is something he is hiding from me, and it worries me. The war, ultimately, has destroyed my life. In the past, I had hoped to be a simple townsperson, living in Morkerna without having to worry about war. Now, with my parents dead, I must fend for myself, while figuring out how to deal with Gremlon. ___ Enjoy! You can see more photos on the flickr albums: 1 2 3

This is a nice example of how simplicity can be really effective in a place like this. The 3rd scene is probably my favorite; despite the small size, the designs all work well together and the cart looks great!

Very interesting roof design! I'm not entirely sure whether I like it, to be honest, but it's certainly very unique and gives the MOC a distinct look. I really love the parrot cage, great use of those exo-force arms!- 16 replies

Nice build! The floor looks great, and the variety of colors creates a great atmosphere. I'm a bit confused as to what the various trans colors are meant to represent, though...
-
Nice entry! The rocks look great, and I like the use of dark tan log bricks. I think the landscape could maybe use a bit more color or something though - maybe the occasional scattered rock/pebble in the sand, a bit of dark tan, and so on. Other than that, excellent build!

Before the war, I had a real family. I was happy. I lived an innocent life at my home near Zelpunra's Tower. But my parents died during the war, and now I have no true family. Gremlon, that old wizard everyone knows about, is watching over me, but it's not the same. It doesn't feel safe here anymore. I used to come to this stream to wade in the cool water; now I come here ready to fight my enemies. When will this ever end? More pictures can be seen on my flickr This is my entry for Category A of Challenge IV. It's one of my smallest serious builds in a long time, and I really love how it turned out . I had a lot of fun incorporating as many angles as possible in the landscaping, which was also an experiment with a color scheme I've been wanting to try out for a while. This build was also a way for me to experiment with a new angled whitewash technique, as well as a new stonework technique. I quite like how they both turned out, although they're pretty complex . Enjoy! C&C is welcome.

Elisa is a young girl from the Avalonian isle of Morkerna. After the death of her parents, she lives under the care of an Avalonian wizard, Gremlon; however, many of his actions often cause her to be suspicious of where his true loyalties lie.... Morkerna (outlined in yellow): -
Nice build, the foliage looks great! As to the lighting, I prefer the second picture - I think the first effect would work best in a full Lego shot where you're trying to mimic a realistic setting in all ways, rather than a dio/vig.
