I passed in the playmat and the diary, but everything else- several polybags in fact, because I'm lucky enough to live near a Lego shop. :)

Now that is a thorough review! Thank you!

Interesting. It's very nice to see that the LOTR theme has not been abandoned...- 527 replies

Watched the special, it does the job but hardly sets the world afire. Hopefully the follow ups will be less rushed. I like the voicework, though.

Not really, I'm not that into it. But this little Azari just seemed to beg to be modded.

Yes! You win my official no-prize! Congratulations!! It's Leetah, though!

I painted a little self-elf. I do not go anywhere without my doc Martens :D As to the character on the left, if you can identify this leading lady from an old Elf-centric comic you win my special no-prize! Meanwhile, Legolas and his lesser known cousin Duplolas are flirting with all the ladies

Meanwhile, Emily Jones introduces her new friends to that thing that humans call "Technology".

It's the usual story...Loved lego as a girl, grew up in the 70's and 80's, loved the Space theme in particular...And then, I went to univ and my bricks moved to my mom's attic. Much later my sister had kids, and they play with our Lego now, and happily play along whenever I'm there. I'm that crazy aunt who plays with Lego! I tried to put off buying my own because I knew I would be lost forever as soon as the first brick entered my house. I fought hard and resisted the whole LOTR series...And then I saw the new Elves series and knew I was lost. Don't know why, I guess I have a weak spot for pointy ears and just look at these sets, they are great! So, the Lego is now piling up on my desk and I'm in need of a place to share. Hope this is it! Hela, it says here I'm a lady! Never have I been accused of that! OMG!

Absolutely love it! Great use of parts. I keep on trying to figure out how you did this. Little Bilbo's face says it all!

I wonder if the missing gold brick has to do with the proportions of the screens on some phones?

I came across this review of a Lego boat I owned as a child http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=18895 I hope it is allowed to re-post one of the pictures here! Compare this to the Elves boat and marvel about how far we got. There are people who say the golden age of Lego is behind us, but I don't think so. One thing though, I haven't tried it, but I don't think the Elves boat is going to float. But that's not the point of it. Another thing, and it's probably not a popular opinion- I never liked minifigures. And I'm old enough to have played with the armless, faceless proto minifigures. I'm not in the slightest bit nostalgic about them, and the little Spacemen that followed. They were too generic, and too abstract. They got more personality as time went on, but I never got over their limitations. I honestly think the mini dolls are an improvement. Wish they had more articulation, though. As I am mildly pink-averse, I put the ship together with some blue parts replacing the pink. Also, I added red and green navigation lights as required under EU law. Love the ship, it fits all figures comfortably, it is sturdy, and it uses a cool studs to the side building technique for the bow.

Thanks for the review Just2Good! And I was unable to find the last brick in that level either, refriedbeans. Maybe they are playing with out feet (as they say here)

Some more pics :D I made a second loft up on the smaller of the Tree house's trees so Emily has a place to catch her breath after her surprising trip from an ordinary world-type world to Elvendale. Meanwhile, Naida is trying to keep the peace between Aira's bird and Farran's cat. It's good to know that the Elves' pets are as ill behaved as mine. There's a little back door between the crystal hollow and the inter-dimensional portal, and this is where Aira keeps her drawing board and tools.

all right then, time for some pics. I know enough about photography to realize that my photos aren't very good, unfortunately I don't have a good place to display my stuff, and the lighting is just awful. but it will have to do for now. Also...It appears that my struggle to not buy anything LOTR related has not been entirely successful... So, here's the bakery to the left, the treehouse in the middle and the hollow to the right. The nice thing about having an inter-dimensional gateway next to your house is that you get the most interesting people over for tea. I added some details to the back of the volcanic oven as it was a bit plain, and the tree bits from the Azari polybags I got were added to the existing trees. Also, extra bricks, and there were lots in these sets, were mostly added on. After moving some bobs and bits around the cooking facility of the tree house and the bakery set work together to make a lovely large kitchen. It seems ideal, with both a volcanic oven and a fresh water supply on hand. You can't cook without a knife, so they borrowed Sting from Frodo. There are plenty of red apples thanks to the 3 Azari polybags I got with all my purchases.... Why do the trees not catch fire? Magic! I added a little loft for Johnny Baker, a place where he can blow off steam after a long day of cooking and baking over hot lava! More later!

Welcome! Always nice to meet a kindred spirit. Hope to take some pictures soon..

Are there folks out there who own Lego and never build a single MOC? So I guess so, but nothing spectacular. Though I liked this one, just because of the simplicity of it. It is a mash up between Friends 41000 "Kate's Water Scooter" and the flying device from Elves 41071 "Aira's Creative Workshop".

Gorgeous! I wish I had a place to put that!
-
Thank you! I'm trying to restrain myself- I may be banned for being too enthusiastic!
-
I like this! I may even buy it. ~The bridge play feature is just cool. For some reason I feel it works with some of the "Elves" sets. Azari would approve of the lava!
-
Lego could put this out as a little "pocket money" 5 euro set or something. There is nothing in this price range yet, but if this is a success I'm sure there will be.

Review LEGO Elves Azari's Magic Fire Polybag
Velouria replied to brickpreviews's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like to think that Azari sips her morning coffee with her feet dangling in the yellow glowing lava before she starts her day. Don't you dare asking her anything before her third mug! Cute little set- the parts make a nice addition to the other Elves sets, and who does not love red apples? -
41073 Display of Naidas Epic Adventure Ship
Velouria replied to Elostirion's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
All aboard the good ship Adventure! Love the sparkly bits, the unicorn, the anthropologist on shore (made a long and dangerous journey to study the elusive Elves, no doubt!), and all the other animals! I really liked the build of this ship, took me quite a lot of time, surprisingly complicated, especially the bow. And I like that it has "swords". At least that's what we call these in Dutch- I haven't been able to find an English word for these movable steering devices. They are common on older Dutch sailing ships, and make perfect sense from a nautical point. *edit* it's called a leeboard! -
Yes there's only one drawer, but it is functional. You can hide the map and letter in it. And as an architect myself, I adore the printed ruler. Oh and I got two pairs of scissors! Rrrr!
