General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

I can't see them making another D2C ship after this one. $250 is already a ton of money to spend on lego. Most of their market would not want to spend that much money on two ships. If it was my choice I would totally want to have all the pirates of the Caribbean ships as D2C's. -

You might be right! Lego usually doesn't re color old molds for only one set. Maybe they made him for the "black pearl" but decided to put him in the new modular building to promote the new printing and to get there money's worth. I still think that were going to see this new printing for years to come. -

The problem with this idea is the fact that those other ships came out 5 years ago. There is a whole new generation out now. Also most people from what I gathered missed the old ships -

Do you guys think we will be getting g barbossa? I am placing some bricklink orders and I was wondering if I should pick him up for $7 new? -
Hello! As some of you may know I am currently finishing my Imperial Flagship! I wanted to make it a bluecoat ship instead of a redcoat one. So in the end result it is now a french ship. Instead of placing the bluecoats flag on the top I wanted to put a french banner and a french flag on the back sail. I was mainly wondering where I can get a cloth french flag in 1:70th scale and a french banner in 1:70th scale. And for a smaller project I wanted to add a spanker sail on the back with a boom mast. Is there any way I can make a new sail that looks and feels exactly identical to the Imperial Flagship vanilla sails? I appreciate your comments and you reading this!

The blue coats have always been my favorite army unit! They don't get enough attention your right! Lets hope we will get a (10210) for the bluecoats in 2019. For now lets make them worthy

And this time its bigger than its fellow companions. If it is indeed a black pearl (which I think most of us think so) I am expecting an under deck, all 3 levels in the back of the ship, cannons on the top deck, 3 mast with full canvas of sails, and an accurate figure heard that is in a dirty gold color. -
Oh really??? Thats cool! How different did you make your ship from the original? I will post mine when its done on eurobricks. And then I will see how many people think I should upload it

Thats what im hoping as well! It will be just like the ghost busters HQ. Im mainly curious how accurate it will be if they do make it. Would it have a full cast of sails. With a full under deck (like 10210). -

I agree with you all the way on this one from sure. Im going to say no matter what ship it is, its going to be cool. I have been thinking a lot lately and im starting to hhm believe that this might be whats happening. What happens if lego is selling a $250 set that has the pearl and the ghost ship. this has never been done before but it makes perfect sence! Think about it. Lego never made a bigger ship then 10210 imperial flagship. Why would lego make a ship bigger than this. What I have seen from lego, when they make this huge iconic set they never try to top it. So why would they do it here just for a pirates of the Caribbean ship. So back on topic if they in fact put the pearl and the ghost ship in one set you have 10 times the playability with 2 decent sized ships. This would also make sense if its the only set. It would give you the entire movie experience. Trust me I would love a UCS version of any ship. But for Roy standards this could be the best option -

It has to be the black pearl. Yeah the flying Dutchman could make since but if this is the only set there making. Wouldn't they want more of a a play set where you but it and your done? The black pearl you can buy and your done. You can have tons of adventures with captain jack. The flying Dutchman however people would want. But you want more ships to play with because you can't just have the flying Dutchman unlike the black pearl. And maybe lego realized that not to many people bought the last one. So maybe there making a UCS version for them and all the other collectors of the theme. For fact I know even if I wasnt a lego fan but a pirates of the Caribbean fan...I would want the black pearl over the flying Dutchman -

It has to be the Black Pearl! My only other guesses would be Captain Salazar's ship. But what type of kid wants to own that one? Lego usually never does huge bases so that would also be eliminated. I am reeaaallllyyyyy hoping its the Black Pearl!!!! -
If lego does that I would die of a heart attack because of happiness!

OMG!!! If this is true I am going to cry with excitement!!!! Quick question though, doesn't most themes start with the rumor of the biggest set in the wave? Another words, most themes (The Hobbit, Harry Potter and so forth) share the big set before the others? -

I to love the bluecoats! I only have one redcoats in total, haha. The sets I own are: lagoon lockup, sabre island smugglers shanty, and I am almost done building the imperial flagship (10210). Is Caribbean clipper worth the money in total while having the imperial flagship act as a bluecoat ship?- 502 replies

Your right 100%! The pirate theme is a fantastic theme! Yeah maybe the newer ones were not the best. But the minifigures made it all worth it! For lego to remake the bluecoats and redcoats is quite a big deal! Lego could have done something a lot worse. And talon card your right! There is a great chance that lego could be bringing us a huge and fantastic pirate theme to celebrate its anniversary! For all we know it could be the best pirate theme yet! Your right 100%!
