[MOC] Imperial Hovertank TX-225 GAVr
RaptorBandito replied to hattedsandwich's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Just finished building mine and it's a beauty! So much detail packed into this, and it's very solid. Way better than the official set, so if you want one of these vehicles in your collection I would certainly recommend these instructions! BTW hattedsandwich your pics on the original post aren't working any more. Not sure if you knew and wanted to fix them? -
Thanks very much for the LDD. I just ordered the missing parts I need off Bricklink. Hopefully I'll have this thing built sometime next week!

Really dig this. The bikes are quite nice. Would love to see a break down or LDD file if you felt like sharing. -

RaptorBandito replied to Ramses25's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I was curious if you ever found a solution to the engines? I would love to see it! -
Thanks for posting. I really like it! I'll definitely try building it when I get a chance.

[WIP] MOC of the AT-ST Walker in LDD
RaptorBandito replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry to bump an old thread but I would love to see and LDD of the AT-ST as well. It looks like an excellent combination of accurate shapes and durability. I've never been happy with any of the versions Lego has produced, so I would love to build this thing. -
Hi All, Forgive me if this is an easy solution. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with how to make this work, but I'm still pretty inexperienced at designing my own models. In the example image the red bricks are the platform, and the green bricks are a column. These just represent an example, and not necessarily the dimensions of a finished model I'm planning. I was wondering what would be the best way to attach the column to the walkway. I've tried some different techniques, mainly using things like technic pin bricks within the core of the column. The problem I'm running into, is I can't get the outside of the column to line up flush with the underside of the platform. The closest I could get is having exposed studs on the column flush with the underside, however I was hoping there would be a way to get a flush meeting while capping off the studs with tiles.

Thanks guys. Those are both good solutions as well. I love having some different options in the back of my mind for possible MOCS.
-
That's a great solution Gnac. Thanks for taking the time to share!
-
Thank you. That's an interesting solution. I don't have many of those round tiles, but I think I could find enough to do some tests and see if I like the results. Thanks for your suggestion and for the photo!

Thank you both for your input. Welfycat I think you've helped me settle on getting some of the Elves sets.
-
I have a large collection of bricks, but it's mostly from sets like Castle, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. So lots of earth tones, not a lot of interesting bright pieces. Maybe it might be more worth while to get some of the friends and Elves sets instead of the Creative Buckets?
-
I've recently been checking out the Lego Classic Creative Boxes. I'm wondering how good of a deal these boxes are, and if it's a good way to get pieces in interesting colors? If so, is there any specific box that I should get over the others?

Help with identifying parts/sets!
RaptorBandito replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi All, Any idea what dark bley part is being used for the top of the head, and upper shoulders, on this mecha? Here's a link to the Flickr so you can get a better look:https://www.flickr.com/photos/garry_rocks/16623405268/in/photolist-rjXieE-5LNKu8-5LNLgg-5LNJJg -
Personally I think it's awesome. I haven't liked the proportions or details on any of TLG's AT-AT's or AT-ST's, but this one is just great. The build itself is very fun, and the completed model is quite stable. The only thing that might make the model a bit cooler would be more articulation points, but that could take away from the stability.

Amazing amount of detail. It takes a long time to soak it all up. I especially love the technique you used to suggest tiny rolling sand dunes. Just wonderful!

[MOC]s - Star Wars REBELS Vehicles and other Creations
RaptorBandito replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
These are just brilliant. I especially love the Ghost. I didn't want to pick up the official Lego version since the angles and details didn't quite look right to me. If only they had released something more along these lines. Wonderful job! -
Hi all, This is my first real MOC, which I've been working on as I sort out my Lego collection into proper organized work station. It's still a work in progress, and I'm not completely satisfied with it. I still need to sort out some other pieces so I can create a proper display base for it, and tidy up some of the details. I was eager to take some photos of my progress though, so I decided to share it. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions. http://www.flickr.co.../raptorbandito/

Imperial Hallway Vignette WIP - My first MOC
RaptorBandito replied to RaptorBandito's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the comments guys. I appreciate the feedback. I'm already working on a better redesign. I've been checking out the SoNE stuff and it sounds like fun. Hopefully I will have sometime to contribute in the near future. -

Excellent work! Lovely details in here. I especially like how you did the floor. I will definitely be book marking this one for inspiration reference. -
Very nice small scene. I especially like your trees and bushes. Those are techniques I haven't seen myself. I like it a lot.

Such an improvement! I especially like the extended base that goes under the tower. The way the official sets attach just makes the whole combination seem like such an after thought. This definitely corrects that. Great job!

Have any of you purchased from A Minifig Cat?
RaptorBandito posted a topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hi All, I've been checking out A MInifig Cat's store on Bricklink for a while now. I always see things that I put on a short list to buy, but for whatever reason I haven't gotten around to purchasing through there yet. Some of the newest items look particularly interesting: http://www.minifigca...BD_All03-01.jpg The part ML79 (as labeled in the photo) looks perfect for Sandtroopers. And the part LBR6 reminds me of a force pike or something similar seen used by Skiff Guards. I was wondering if anyone has purchased from this custom store before, and what you thought? I've seen a lot of images on Flickr where people use the parts, but I haven't been able to find much information on the items themselves. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
