    Which set should I buy?

I bought a Creative Bucket last year and found it very useful. I think they are most useful for people who are new to Lego or getting back into it (Probably less useful to people who already have large a Lego collection). The cost on the Creative Buckets are decent at about 7.5cents per brick (below the 10cents/brick which most people aim for when buying standard sets). This year's Classic Creative Buckets look a lot better than the one I bought last year- Wider variety of colours, a lot more sloped bricks and some interesting pieces- like the mini door. Had I not bought the more basic bucket last year, I would go for the Classic Medium Creative Bucket. The Large one looks decent as well, but outside of what I'd want to pay.

    Guess that movie!

Since I got confirmation above, here's a new one to guess: (See image name if you want a hint).

    Show off your LEGO collection!

Nice collection. Do they really have permanent residence on your couch? .
  6. In the land of Estpolis, there is a place where warriors go test their skills; the Ancient Cave. With a depth of 200 floors, and a maze of strong foes never before seen, few have made it to the lowest most level. A lone woman stands alone at the bottom of the Ancient Cave amid the darkness and the tall crystalline structures, waiting for only the strongest warriors to reach her. - And once they do, she challenges them to a battle. Only if they can somehow best her, will she reveal who is behind the god-like Sinistrals that will reincarnate to wreak havoc on the land every hundred or so years. Her name is Iris, and even she is not strong enough to defeat the evil and so she waits. This MOC is my interpretation of the end of the Ancient Cave from game Lufia:The Legend Returns and the minidoll is based on the most challenging game character I’ve ever had to fight, Iris. I started off with one of the Jungle Friends minidolls and replaced her hair with that from CMF Intergalactic Girl. I used some tacky putty and JB weld to create the dress, then impatiently painted using Testors model paint. Finally I decided to use a gold chain as her waist sash to it to move when posing her into her kneeling position. I basically started this project because I wanted something fun to do with the minidolls. I still need to figure out a way to replicate the wings though. Thanks for looking!

The Elven host marching to war

    Great looking army!
  9. Thank you. Neon bricks are a lot of fun to play with a black light on. Some blue LED lights also make the bricks glow, though not as impressively as the black light. Thanks Vorkosigan. I loved those Legend of Zelda fairy caves... well maybe except for those freaky N64 Great Fairies.
  10. I bought a couple of the Friend’s Jungle sets a few months ago and knew right away I wanted to modify them so they look less like a picnic area and more of an actual jungle. I decided to go for a jungle mountain slope scene: Here are the original sets: Both of the main sets have a ‘hidden door’ mechanism that reveals a pathway. I modded the sets so that as you pull on the loose boulder on top it open up both the cave wall and the waterfall synchronously. Both passageways reveal gemstones. My collection of spare bricks is limited so that back of the set still looks fairly bare, but once I get enough grey bricks I’ll try to make it more interesting. I replaced the Friend minidoll with the cmf Cave Girl who now has a home, enjoys swinging from tree to tree and hanging out in her cave. So, can you spot all the jungle animals?

Thanks notaromantic. Glad we could count on our resident multi-billionaire to save us from Disney.

[SPC] Cat C - "The Acid Queen"

Very interesting ship design. I would not want to mess with that ship's crew.

    Pick-A-Brick & Pick-A-Model

You mean this wasn't an April Fools post? Those prices are terrible for parts that aren't particularly special. If you are packing the parts yourself, why not just put the ones intended for the model into a PAB container and fill up the rest of the space for only a few dollars more (but I guess you won't acquire the model instructions that way.)

    [MOC] World of Dinosaurs

Great dinosaur diorama. It's nice to see some representation for the water dinos (plesiosaurs). The seabed is funny with all those planktons.

    MOC: Sunset

Very lovely dino vignette. The background you choose really makes the foliage and water pop out. Interesting use of the waterfall sheet. I'm really liking the raptors as well, which look like they have lots of articulation for their small size.
  16. No tricks. Just need to turn on a black(UV) light and those bricks go wild.

Wow! Excellent paint job Velouria. That is some great detail, especially with transforming their faces. You must have a really steady hand.

    LEGO frustrations

This is probably the most funny and interesting rationale to combat excessive Lego spending. My collection is so small, it would probably only annoy me by being accidentally stepped following an earthquake. Though I was reading about how hoarders have an increased risk of inducing flash fires, so maybe I'll think of that when I want to buy something unnecessary.
  21. It's difficult to determine when the dark age started. I grew up loving to play with my brother's sets and building mocs (mainly houses I think and a few space related vehicles). I don't think I built much during my teen years. I know I built some kind of box for my gameboy cartridges at around 17 years old, and then I didn't touch Lego until last year (age 26). So I guess the Dark Age lasted around 10-15 years. It was those Monster Fighter sets that piqued my interest when I was helping search for a gift for the son of a friend.

Watched the Godfather. Possibly for the first time.

Welcome back from the dark side and welcome to the forums. Which CMF did you end up with?

    Elves 2015

^That's what I would probably do. The Tree Top Hideaway looks like the start of a tree to me- the trunk. I think it would look amazing to build them taller, branch them out and add a ton more foliage.
