There's no need to count individual bricks (unless you're a masochist). Brickset and other programs mentioned exist to count. Or barring that, even volume or weight estimates are interesting. I hit a milestone this month, getting in the 5 digit range for number of bricks. 82 minifigs and 57 sets(including individual CMFs, polybags etc), totaling approximately 10712 pieces. Woohoo.

If it's still available, then yes, I think it will be still on sale. However it currently in "Call to check product availability" status. If you really want it, I'd recommend buying it sooner then later though, as there is probably not many left.

Definitely nope. You are the winner. Your turn.

Hi all. I've been modifying all of my recent purchases. Here are the results: 'Sira's Skyship'. This one is actually a modified Ninjago set (Raid Zeppelin). A nicely designed set in itself, but it does clash with the rest of my Lego collection. I wanted a skyship for the air loving, earth elf Sira. My aim was to make the ship look alive with foliage and other vegetation. I replaced the computer console with an old fashion map of Elvendale. Next up, a slightly modified School of Dragons. The main change is the completion of an actual tree. I feel like Lego tends to fall short on their tree designs, especially this set in particular. I don't like the new large magenta leaf pieces, so I went with tradition green. A less obvious modification is the spacing in between the school and the tree. I expanded it, making the stream larger. If you own the set, you'll notice that Miku and his swing and up crashing into the tree/building when he reaches the end of his ride down the zip line. Expanding the spacing solved this issue, and make Miku on the swing more displayable. Finally, a modified Treetop Hideaway. (I finally got this set a year after release :). My goal of course was to give the tree a greater foliage density. Building the set, I realized that the set does come with a decent supply of leaves. However it still felt like there was a gap around the right tree. I still have some ideas for modification to this set with respect to the base. Some spots seem awkward, like the cooking fire adjacent to a tree, and a straight steam flowing over the grass. Hopefully I'll get to those mods over the weekend.

*Shhh* You're not suppose to ask those kinds of science questions in Hollywood movies. Aside from that oversight/ glaring plot-hole opening up the movie, I agree that the Martian was decent movie. San Andreas, however, was a terribly painful movie to watch as someone with a science background. (How do you get a tsunami coming towards you, following a transverse fault earthquake?! )

[MOC] The Master Sword Clearing - Legend of Zelda
Iria replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You've recreated the scene very nicely! I especially like the second photo, as well as how you designed the hexagon platform. You even included the happy forest animals. Thanks, now I want/need to play a Link to the Past. -
Nicely designed with lots of articulation. Those are some great poses!

I want to continue reading my massive Wesleyan Anthology of Sci Fi. I should bring it to work to read on my breaks. I've been listening to audiobooks lately at work because I often get to spend hours alone, bored. I listened to Peter Pan and White Fang so far, the latter was much more intense than I expected - I thought it was written for kids. Nope! Certainly not kids from this generation anyways. If anyone is interested in reading/listening to free books in the public domain check out LibriVox for audiobooks, and Project Gutenberg for written works.

^I agree, I thought Miku was going to be the water baby dragon of the wave, as his coloration is very similar to Merina's.

[LDD][MOC]The real dragons school of Elvendale.

Very nice! You've done an excellent job in recreating the school. I think the tree would look better with a few more leaf pieces added. (Lego seems to never add enough leaves to their tree-based sets). Thanks for sharing. I'd love to make a MOC based off your creation someday. -
Wow, what a magical build with so many wonderful details and incorporation of many different sets. Those are some really nice building techniques, I've never seen a waterfall like that. The trees and foliage look amazing.

Haha, nice work! I really like the background decor and use of the large wings. The head on the cake is a nice touch too. Li'l Vlad is one ugly vampire kid.

I'm reading lots and lots of journal papers about Alaska and British Columbia glaciers. No time for books.

Very impressive. Love how all the buildings fit perfectly, yet have their own distinct style. Those vine-y trees look great, but kind of creepy right up close. Awesome collaboration! I can't even tell that multiple people worked on it. What's going on in that black patch with the white figures? House fire?
