DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
BrickSantorum replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
My gut tells me that the character selection will be similar to the Disney CMFs, where they'll be loosely paired up. We know we'll get a Green Lantern (Baz) and Sinestro... I doubt we'll see a third Lantern of any color in the same series. Obviously having the lantern mold opens the door to all sorts of options in upcoming sets, though. -
DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Does it seem like things might be a little rocky with the DC license? There's that Shazam! polybag that's floating around in the wild, but it hasn't been officially released. Then the D2C seems like it's been pushed back, and now we're finding out that there won't be a winter wave of sets. The latest wave of bat-sets started seeing 10-20% discounts within a few weeks of release, and I still see a ton of them on shelves. And LEGO specifically called out Avengers sets but not the Super Heroes theme as a whole as a strong performer in their latest earnings report. I know that LEGO and WB have a very strong working relationship, especially on ancillary products like films and home movies. But I'm starting to get the sense that LEGO might be taking their foot off the gas as far as DC sets. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. -
LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion

The only place I’ve read that is BrickFan, which often reports inaccurate information (and then goes back and edits posts to remove it without acknowledging it). Have you got a second source for the CMF rumor?- 961 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

To be fair, we were saying that about Endgame sets until about two days ago. -
This ^^ I'm sure that Lego would like to have infinite manufacturing and distribution capabilities so that they could instantaneously and simultaneously fulfill worldwide demand, but they don't.
-
They did put a limit on them. I bought up to the limit.

I was able to order 4 just before I shared the link. I must have gotten in just before the stock ran out.

The Brick Fan is saying that the Bricktober pack is back in stock online at Barnes & Noble in the U.S.: https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-harry-potter-bricktober-2018-5005254-back-in-stock-at-barnes-noble/

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

You realize that LEGO can't just produce any Marvel Super Heroes set that they want, right? That's not even remotely how licensed products work. -
Seconded - this is some really top-notch modding!

Are we sure that the Spidey sets are still due to release tomorrow? There’s no mention of them on shop.LEGO.com. -

I have never not gotten a promo with every order when placing multiple orders. If Lego ever started enforcing that, the volume of stuff that I purchased from them would drop by at least 50%. -

LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion

Well, that’ll show ‘em. I think I like S2 even more than S1, and I liked S1 an awful lot. I’m a huge Carl Barks/ducks fan, so having Scrooge and the triplets is just awesome. Frozone was also at the top of my wishlist (I don’t think I was alone in that), and I’m glad that they’re taking a second crack at Edna Mode - this version is miles better than the last one. Hercules was after my time, so he and Hades are probably the figs I’m least interested in, but I’ll still be glad to have them in my collection. I can’t think of another CMF wave where there wasn’t at least a couple of figs that I resented getting for the sake of completeness. But I’m really pleased with the selection and the quality of this series.- 961 replies

Holy shit, can we either just freeze this thread or give the handful of people who can’t stop sniping at each other a timeout? This is ridiculous.

I can't believe I just saw someone use the phrase "social justice warrior" on a forum for adult fans of a children's toy based on a pretend school for kid wizards. What a world we live in. FWIW, I think the resurrection of the Harry Potter line has been nearly flawless. I never was a huge fan of the source material, but the theme came back just as my kid was getting to the age where the first few movies were right up his alley. I've gotten every set to build with him, and I intend to keep doing so. Of all the licensed themes that I care about, HP seems to be making the maximum effort to deliver value for the price. I understand that some people disagree (and prefer to do so disagreeably), but this theme has already brought my family a ton of joy so far, and I'm confident it will continue to do so for at least the rest of this year.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
BrickSantorum replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
It just dawned on me that the reuse of the team suit in every set was probably LEGO's attempt at catering to completionist collectors, just like the Infinity Stones were the collectable gimmick in the Infinity War sets. Judging from the comments, I think it's safe to say that backfired pretty spectacularly... -

If Disney believes that a licensing partner is being careless with confidential material and/or not doing everything in their power to prosecute those who steal and/or distribute it, Disney will absolutely sever their relationship with that partner. Marvel isn’t a top-selling line for LEGO, but Star Wars, Toy Story, Disney Minifigures, etc. absolutely are. -

Man. No updates to the Brick Fan's original article about the Marvel Super Heroes Minifigure Set, which they originally definitively said was coming 3/1 - 3/7: https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-marvel-super-heroes-bricktober-2018-5005256-promotion-coming-in-march/ And no updates to their review of the set, which posted yesterday and still says that it is "rumored" to be available 3/1 - 3/7. https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-marvel-super-heroes-bricktober-2018-5005256-review/ For a site that just trawls messageboards and passes off other people's information as his own, you'd think they could at least do a better job of keeping their information current.
