  1. So this is tragic news... the Mindstorms Gallery is closing? Does that mean that I lose all my projects that I uploaded? As if closing the message boards wasn't enough? Fortunately, I have a website, so all of that can be moved... but I still can't believe this is happening. So many memories... And I really dislike the format of the new gallery. It appears as if you can only add pictures, similar to the Technic gallery. That's a huge step backward. What is LEGO doing?
  2. Well I'm finally back! The footage in this video is at least 1-2 years old, and I've been working on this project for even longer. I'm slowly working on completing this build, but I need your input and suggestions! My work-in-progress Lego Technic Customized Pickup Truck 42029 is being motorized with Mindstorms Ev3. So far, I have much of the chassis built. Two Ev3 Large Motors are used for the drivetrain and one Ev3 Medium Motor for the steering. I also have it set up so that a Lego piston engine can run while the vehicle is driven.

  4. My Lego Traxxas Slash is a short course truck based on my Lego Technic Pullback Truck with suspension. The chassis is nearly identical - but I redesigned the suspension setup, incorporating a smaller shock absorber with a custom linkage enabling extremely long travel of the rear suspension. I modeled the styling of this truck to the popular Traxxas Slash R/C car. The traversely-mounted V6 engine is non-functional - HOWEVER, you can adjust the pistons into 36 different positions to your liking by turning the 36z gear.   6. 6. Traxxas Slash My Lego Traxxas Slash is a short course truck based on my Lego Technic Pullback Truck with suspension. Powered by two hard-coupled pullback motors. The chassis is nearly identical - but I redesigned the suspension setup, incorporating a smaller shock absorber with a custom linkage enabling extremely long travel of the rear suspension. I modeled the styling of this truck to the popular Traxxas Slash R/C car. The traversely-mounted V6 engine is non-functional - HOWEVER, you can adjust the pistons into 36 different positions to your liking by turning the 36z gear. I must note that while this truck is pretty quick thanks to the dual motor setup, I was surprised at how its performance in the 1-inch snow was a letdown. I think the snow is too heavy for the motors to push through. As you can notice in some of the clips of the truck on pavement, it performs much better there. Also, as a disclaimer, the drifting clips do not demonstrate the capability of this truck; those clips were for fun and show. I will create another video with it without snow. Additionally, the ice on the ground combined with all that torque from the pullback motors resulted in wheel spinning, which made the truck lose much of its potential when finally hitting dry pavement. Overall, though, I am very happy with the result of this build. The tire size compliments the dual motor setup quite nicely!
  7. Thank you, MangaNOID! I'm not quite sure what you mean, but the pull back motors are of the same unit as the rear axle. The rear axle is hinged to the body of the truck, and a single large shock absorber links the rear axle and body (live axle suspension?) The suspension travel is extremely large, anyhow. So I simply spin the rear wheels backwards until I meet resistance before its internal clutch snaps, then I let go and it drives Also, I converted the single axles into the circular pieces that could attach to the large wheels securely (I'm forgetting my LEGO terms, lol). These motors are fun to work with! Creating these models are fairly easy, which is probably why I've had time to build quite a few of these instead of working on my Mindstorms project that has been sitting in a box for over a year Thanks, Jurss!
  8. I built this Lego Technic Pull Back Truck with rear long-travel suspension about a year ago and just got around to filming it now! Two pullback motors drive the rear wheels and off-road tires! In this video, I simply go all action with the editing and test this Lego Pullback Truck in the elements! Please let me know what you think about the editing =)

  11. Hey Guys! I have been building with Mindstorms for just about 4 years now. To think of that is pretty mind-blowing! So I decided to re-create a video on a creation I built almost 3 years ago: My Lego Mindstorms CUB3.   13. Hello there! After roughly four months, I have finally scrapped together time to make another LEGO video. But this time, I decided to try something different and take you behind-the-scenes of the original video. In this vlog style video, I show you how I was able to create the various shots I did with a custom LEGO GoPro mount I found online and modified to fit onboard my simple Lego pullback car. I even built a Power Functions motorized camera dolly with steering abilities to film turntable style shots. Please watch the video and share your thoughts on my new editing style and attempt to raise production quality. I plan to begin adapting a series to this style format/editing if I get enough positive responses. Also, if you have ANY suggestions on how to make my videos better, PLEASE share them! I am always looking for ways to increase the production quality of my videos, and without feedback from viewers such as yourself, I will never know And yes, I will get rid of that lame intro.

  19. Simple Lego Pullback Car - This Lego Technic creation is the smallest, simplest pullback car I could design without sacrificing stability. It features a minimalistic design.   20. I used Blender in my previous videos, but most Blender templates that I've seen are extremely similar, and it got old for me after a while. Also, making a custom Blender intro myself is out of the question because I have no experience (or time) with Blender. But I do agree with you guys; I really hate the advertisements and low video quality, but I decided to try it out just for the sake of it.

  22. Hey Josephiah, Thanks for the compliment! I could definitely implement switches and touch sensors on the board, but I had already used both Touch Sensors to activate the flippers. I'll keep that in mind though! I was originally going to program a point system, but the light sensor doesn't work as well as the color sensor and was difficult to detect any changes in value. So now it's just a lighting effect.
  23. My first NXT creation! A Lego Mindstorms NXT pinball machine featuring 3 interactive servo motors, 2 touch sensors, and a light sensor! Flippers are activated via Touch Sensors on either side of the machine. Features auxiliary high-speed spinner. Makes for hours of fun and awesome gameplay! Programmed in NXT-G. How was the video style? Was it engaging? Did you enjoy the video? I am also extremely busy with virtually no time whatsoever to build, so unless I am extremely motivated, I won't be able to build anymore for a little while. I am open to suggestions of future builds, though!
