    LEGO Store "Build a Minifigure"

any news for when they might be appearing in the US?
  2. The accessory packs are starting to show up in store in the US, but are selling out the same day. Let's hope they don't stay out of stock for the duration of their entire existence like 40454
  3. way to start the year off with the usual 5head

    Issue with UCS AT-AT!!!

Who exactly was blowing this out of proportion? Were people out there protesting in front of lego hq? Were they sending in anthrax in the mail? Because that's what it sounds like in here and on other fan sites.. Constantly jumping onto the hate train to defend corporations to no end is honestly one of the most pathetic things I've seen. News flash you are a customer.

    Seasonal 2021

What has happened to Set 40489 Mr. & Mrs. Claus's Living Room?
  6. the possibilities for a MBS endor are endless, and all of them would be great looking builds: the bunker, landing pad, or even just the forests and ewok village
  7. I think the number of videos thing just depends on the youtuber. Jang puts out less videos than other lego youtubers but in exchange streams a lot on youtube/twitch. On the other hand, youtubers like ManR seem to rely only on youtube, hence the enormous amounts of videos on even the slightest rumor
  8. Since this rabbit hole is opened, I do not understand the MandR hate about "relentless criticism" if you actually watch his reviews. Jang is my favorite reviewer but MandR does a comparable job. Yes, he made some very immature random videos and is overly critical of the gunship box errors, but if you actually watch the review it is 95% praise for the set; he spends no more than a few minutes talking about the wrong box art or things like the "pilot." If I had to bet it was his random immature videos that got him kicked out of LAN and not his reviews, which are usually objective and reasonable On the other hand you have some LAN members who go out of their way to never be critical of anything lego and act as if their audience has unlimited money to spend on lego sets.
  9. IIRC accessory packs usually dont have stickers
  10. You're right about that. I would liked it better if we had the red or blue officers. I didn't manage to get either figure before the insane 2020 price hikes. But from my point of view at least, spending $350 just to get the commander basically meant that the figure is completely inaccessible for me.Optimal solution at this point would to have a normal system scale set with a different type of officer.
  11. I'm surprised by the lukewarm reaction by some. When commander comes out it will be 9 years since he was released in an accessible set. I don't agree that UCS sets should have exclusive minifigures forever. They are not advertised as such, unlike SDCC exclusives. They are simply just another minifigure, but in an expensive set. Plus, the second hand price for clones is insane, so just refreshing the stock will be good for both new and old collectors
  12. Whelp if other accessory battle packs are of any indication, this one will be chronically sold out for months. Whether it was going to include shinnies or rex/cody I was going to enjoy this set either way We get it you hate people and their opinions
  13. Your MOC is way better. Lego's version is probably the ugliest and most inaccurate microfighter so far. It looks more like a prototype than a finished product. I was hoping for an updated mando with a face print since he's already in so many sets but guess not... Note: The visor appears to be the same as the one from TOT 75299, so it isn't new. For some reason the summer 2021 mando releases had the weird lower visor. Overall a disappointing reveal. The harry potter set reveal is way more exciting; an interesting set with new variants of characters
  14. It's really inconsistent. Ive seen some stores limit sets to 2-3, but my local one doesn't care. I've seen people walk out with a bag full of the same set on release day
  15. The spider man one 40454, has been out of stock all year long. Last month it was briefly available again for backorder with a estimate ship date of February or March. Cody was annoyingly exclusive with the gunship for three years until they put him in a small genosian starfighter set Definitely, we could get some rare clones never seen before, some death troopers, or even imperial ground troops from solo (if they'd risk that )
  16. Agreed. Getting two named clones is way better than getting 3 plain clones in accessory packs. Accessory packs are known to be chronically out of stock and having one be an army builder is just asking for a disaster. Having two named clones means that people are likely to buy just one or two instead of buying as many as they can to build an army. It is vastly better to have army builders widely available from all retailers in a system set.
  17. I get where you're coming from. Would phase two versions be great? yes. Would a new phase two helmet with holes for accessories be even better? of course! But when it comes down to it, it's been like ten years since either of these figures in phase 1. A lot of collector's and kids don't have them or have to resort to pay ridiculous second hand prices for them. And even for those who do have them, getting new versions with updated printing is still fantastic
  18. I've always liked the character design in the show, but the lego phase two version just wasn't it. Because of this, I put off getting a phase two rex until years later, luckily before the insane 2020 price hikes. I look forward to them remaking phase two rex
  19. Gonna be honest here, even though I like phase 2 rex, the lego phase 2 rex's helmet is completely hideous. This is because phase 2 rex's helmet is a unique mix of the phase 1 and phase 2 helmet. However, lego just reused the standard phase 2 helmet instead of making a new mold, leading to it looking strange. Looking back, a new mold probably isn't necessary but maybe better printing so that it doesn't look so off
  20. Uhh that'd be a bit odd but my reaction is still positive. Both figures are popular and the second hand prices are insane right now. If cody and rex have the new 2020 armor design that's going to be a day one purchase for me. I know some people don't like the 2020 design for not being movie accurate, but imo it's the best version currently. From a design standpoint the armor design is crisp and assertive. It would also be very consumer friendly to add popular characters into a relatively inexpensive set. It's distasteful when they put desirable and popular figures into expensive sets with no assurances that they will reappear in a more inexpensive set. (initial phase 1 rex and cody in 2008, and moff gideon, etc)

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Do we know if Hogwarts moments 76383 and 76382 will be retiring at the end of this year? Brickset doesn't have a date, but a fan website report stated that both will be retired along with the other two hogwarts moments
  22. There hasn't been a uniform lego price increase across the board. E.g. The battlepack price has increased from 15 to 20, but the AT-ST from 2019 and the 2022 one both are $50. External factors usually do not directly lead to lego price increases for the consumer. Like many businesses, Lego consistently prices sets based on what they think the market will pay. Many different sets at various price points still yield the same value. That's partly why smaller sets usually hover around 10c/piece when D2C are well below that and follow a different pricing scheme, sometimes even 5c or 6c a piece. For example, if a set like the home alone set follows the same pricing scheme as smaller sets then it would be at least $450+ at 10c/piece but it's not. It's $250 because that what the market research says people will pay Regardless of this, as a consumer, unless you are a lego investor, you do no service to yourself to justify lego price increases. All you're doing is justifying lego taking more of your money. It is a strange thing that many people automatically think the consumer and not the corporations should bear the burden of price increases, whereas it be from inflation, supply issues or some other reason. Lego has made tremendous profit, more than ever before as of late. With those numbers, consumers should be asking corporations to absorb the costs of these increases rather than automatically accepting that it should be passed onto the consumer
  23. If the rumors are true then these are two good accessory packs. My main worry was that they would be nearly useless by having three common named characters (luke, c3po, r2d2). The hoth one is necessary given that without it, the entire rebellion is just one soldier from the AT-ST and luke facing the entire empire. Phase 2 clones would have been better, but I'll take phase 1 clones just the same in order to reduce aftermarket costs. Having three figures instead of four is disappointing, but is not surprising considering how they know lego fans would buy just about anything, so in their mind there's no need to spend the extra cents to include a fourth figure On the other hand, including star wars army builder figures might turn out to be terrible for consumers. These packs up to this point have always been lego store exclusives and some have been perpetually out of stock for their entire lifespan. The Spider-Man versus Venom and Iron Venom (40454) has been continually out of stock all year, and there was a brief backorder period last month with an estimated ship date of february-march. I ordered a batman one back in july and it took until october for it to reach me in the US. I will expect the same issue with the clones
  24. So do I, the lego market these past two years have gone completely bonkers. Exclusives like the SDCC ones from years ago never really bothered me because we usually could buy different versions of the characters in normal sets. If an adult collector wanted to pay the insane after market prices for them, then more power to them. But now we have mainstay figures selling for well above $100 and no official re-release in sight I think it's fair to say that there is demand for captain rex among kids. Taking a step back from the lego world, there is a lot of captain rex toys and merchandise out there with some very...ambitious cross-overs
  25. When I mean unimportant, I'm referring to their status as a character. Rex is a major character in three different mediums now, whereas I had no idea who Finch Dallow was until learning of the insane bricklink aftermarket prices. I don't even remember if he had more than one minute of screen time;. I don't even know that he was ever even named on-screen. I won't speak for anyone here but I have never seen him mentioned in any star wars fandom besides the lego community
