COMIX! Glad to see you're still alive and doing SD customs out there. The link to the piece you're looking for, that PepperoniBricks was talking about, is right here. EDIT: Silly me! Forgot to mention how awesome that Red Beard is. I'm working on "fixing" The Black Knight ATM, but I don't really have any other SD guys in mind. I've been focusing on superheroes and villains for a while now. EDIT X 2: Also, I'd only swap him over to pink legs if there are some brown booted pink legs out there. :P Otherwise, he looks great as is.

Beautiful figures across the board. Wow. Whose legs are those on Stargirl? Also on the topic of OG Wolvie, I've seen someone use a brown epaulette to top off the look. Sorry to have to be that guy, but can we please get some pictures or sources or something? Gordanians, Dr. Octopus, etc, and depending on the exact colors, there's plenty more where that came from.

Good to know that rubbing alcohol works too! I've been working with erasers and toothpaste, and trying to get into Brasso.

    1. Nice! 2. Green and yellow is more than achievable with the parts we have now . . . I know it's not the same, but I think it could work. 3. That head could not be more perfect.

    Updating Your Minifigs

Nope, I'm just a causual SW fanboy who was lurking in this thread and knew the answer to the question. But if you want to call me a special prints expert, I'm technically qualified, so go right ahead, I won't stop you. I have The Eraser, but I'm unwilling to enucleate the poor guy, or turn him into the Ten-Eyed Man, and I have no flat silver tiles to boot. I also don't know what bricks one might use to attach that head to IG-88's body, as they have different connection points. It's been a while since I've picked up any SW Lego, so sorry if any of my references are dated. I'm not sure if you're a purist or not, but there are methods to get rid of print like that without harming the boots, some of which are even demonstrated in this very thread! Personally, I like a good ol' fashioned pencil eraser and some elbow grease, but I've seen stuff like that removed with Brasso and even toothpaste. The minifigure customization forum has done some amazing things to Lego with ordinary householdy stuff, if you're into that sort of thing.

The dual molded arms on Sabine are not azure, they're actually medium blue, and they come from Itchy, from the first series of The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures.

The obscure Colonel Gumm from 1966's Batman show, and The Punisher. Colonel Gumm's torso had a bit of print removed from the front via eraser, as did Punisher legs, hips arms, and head. As with the others, if you have any questions about specifics, just ask.

autorazr and N_Cat suggested Spider-Gwen and Silver Sable, respectively. I think it'll be whatever you make of it! :P Both sound like great ideas!

    Non-Purist Superhero Figures

Flash (Wally West), James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes and Captain America (Steve Rogers), Deadshot (Floyd Lawton), League of Assassins member, Dr. Hugo Strange, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Thor (Thor Odinson), Aresia. Flash's boots and arm markings were made with electrical tape and Post-Its respectively, Cap's helmet wings and arm markings were made with medical tape, Deadshot's gauntlet guns were made from chopped up hand-cuffs which had binoculars super-glued on top, the League of Assassins member had his hood sliced open, Hugo Strange's head had a lightning shaped scar erased from it, Green Lantern's gloves had their control panels erased, Thor's boots were made with electrical tape, and finally, Aresia's torso had a neckline erased from it, and she also has been equipped third party vambraces and greaves (forearm and knee armor, respectively). Any questions about specifics, just let me know! Enjoy!

Nice use of that piece! If you want to give him a toothier look, try this head. Completely unrelated, who is that white-haired female figure in the background made with Orca's parts?

On Hulk_Smash's note of using the LBM CMF parts for other superheroes/villains, I just realized that Calculator's face can be used for Wrecker from Marvel's Wrecking Crew, if you're willing to go outside his color scheme a bit. On that same note, I also saw that one of the Lego builders I follow on Flickr had used it for Ozymandias from Watchmen. EDIT: It also works for Flamingo and White Rabbit from more recent Batman stuff. I don't have the set myself, but I think that because the set is aimed towards kids, who can be rougher with their bricks, that might explain why the cape is made out of a slightly different material. If I were you, I'd just Bricklink one.

I have a new figure that belongs here: It's Tony Stonem, from TV's Skins (UK). Pretty simple, but I like it. I have ideas for the rest of the volume one cast as well, but so far, it's just him.

You're very welcome for the advice. "I did try making Flash as maroon as I could, but it didn't quite look right." - Huh. Sorry to hear that. Hope that you can find a good solution soon! :) "I agree about Snart's head- I actually think that head piece would work much better for Harrison Wells, and if I can get a wheelchair he'll definitely claim it." - I agree; that head would be better on Wells, although I think the Leonard Hofstadder one from The Big Bang theory may work even better if you can grab it. "I actually do know where the original sleeves from Cisco's shirt are... they're on Crossbones, and he's keeping them." - Don't know why I said "find" back there, sorry if I sounded presumptuous or anything. In that case, stick with the black ones, as they're the second best ones after the dual-molded ones. "Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by how well Heatwave came out, given how he was made entirely put of parts I just had lying around." - It always manages to surprise me when people say that they made these great figures from parts they "had lying around." In that case, I'd say that that fact alone makes him stand out even more. :) Roy/Arsenal - "might end up modding into Thea." Do what you will with him, but I'd wish you the best of luck if you do choose to do a Thea mod for Roy, and hope to see the new figure here! Diggle/Spartan: - "need SW Finn hair/a proper helmet" You summed it up best yourself. As for a proper helmet, may I respectfully posit this one? Felicity Smoak: I always preferred seperating my Felicity from the TBBT girl a bit, as I always felt like that the TBBT girl was the only thing that I could see when I looked at those figures. I'd recommend trying the 2012 Arkham Dr Harleen Quinzel head and see if that works, but if you like it, stick with it. I personally think Wolverine's head works fairly well for Vandal, but Thorin Oakenshield's (LOTR), Igor Karkaroff's (HP), Blackbeard's (POTC), and Nizam's (POP) heads work just as well, if not better. On another note, if you're not set on navy colors, I'd recommend Blackbeard's torso/legs as well. Best of luck, happy building, and I can't wait to see your finished figure here on the thread! I've had a similar, albeit unfinished design for my own CW Black Canary floating around, and when I saw your figure, it finally came together! Thanks so much for the inspiration! Thanks for the information! I'll be sure to check that out. Glad that I was able to help! In case you're unaware, Bricklink allows you to buy individual bricks (like Voldemort's head, for example,) online from various sellers. Like Ebay, but exclusively for Lego. Unfortunately, we don't have plain ol' black and white molded arms, but we do have Syndrome's, from the Disney CMF line. The silver accents are bothersome, but if you're willing to break the purist barrier, grab an eraser and scrub! :D Otherwise, I'd say that you're stuck with the black and flesh molded arms, sorry to say. If that doesn't float your boat, just stick with plain black arms and use white hands. :) As for a "Tommy Bahama" shirt: If you're not a detail nut like I am, The Lego Movie CMF had the 'Where are my Pants?' Guy, whose torso sounds pretty much exactly like what you're describing, but you'd be stuck with plain blue arms and a bit of yellow flesh peeking out from the top. I agree; these are all great combos. Given your skill at recreating some of our other comic book friends, I'd love to see your version of Vandal Savage as well!

Thanks! Cisco - Looking pretty good, but if you can find them, I recommend the multi-shaded sleeves that came with that torso originally instead of plain black ones, and also using medium dark flesh hands and the Raj Koothrappali head from The Big Bang Theory if you can, and as for the hairpiece, I'd recommending jumping straight to black ones. Flash - I don't know if the color breakup quite works. I recommend making the whole figure maroon, save for the torso, head and mask, if you can, and see if that works a bit better. Caitlyn - Works well, but I'd recommend either Tauriel or Arwen's heads from LOTR, as Cate has a more cold demeanor than most, and Danielle Panabaker (the actress), has fairly defined cheekbones, more in line with the elves. The hair and torso work fine, but I'd recommend these legs instead of the navy ones. Killer Frost - I haven't really seen her as I'm behind on my CW viewing, but I'd say she looks pretty good. Captain Cold - Those glasses don't really capture CW Snart's goggles . . . I can't say there is much out there to recommend though, sadly enough. Savitar - Beautiful. I'd say we need to see him a bit more, but he's looking pretty nice. Heatwave - Absolutely perfect, just stunning. Try the Voldemort head, and the black/flesh dual molded arm sleeves instead of white arms, and see if that doesn't look better. I know you didn't say anything about the head, but I think that head fits GWS better. Either way, don't take my word for it, mix and match as you see fit. :) Something was off about the Batman Movie Penguin's head, and I think you fixed it by popping the old one on the new torso. Nice job! It looks great. The sheer simplicity and beauty of those clockwork penguin minions is driving me nuts! They're amazing! Ragman - Absolutely perfect; and EPU on with the face and the mummy combos. I'm curious, what face is that, by the way? Bronze Tiger - Interesting choices, especially with the claws (most people use the Wolverine ones, and indiscriminately so), and the robes. I like it! Amanda Waller/Rick Flagg Jr. - Interesting choice of the Patty Tolan head seeing as most people indiscriminately use the male ones. That Rick Flagg looks really nice too, but I think he could use a more serious head. Ratcatcher - Beautiful, especially with the use of the Elves hair, the eclectic choice of parts, and the creativity and illegal building technique used for his staff! :D The Mad Hatter/"Alice" - I never would have thought of using the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent's head for Mad Hatter, nor would I have giving him black clothes, but they both work really well. I also really like the pocket watch tile! I actually used the same brick for my version of Clock King, until it became a bit scratched and unwieldy. At that point, I created a brick-built pocketwatch, by attaching a clear round 1x1 tile to a gold round 1x1 straight sided plate (usually, albeit erroneously referred to as a 'stud' in AFOL jargon), to simulate the shape of an actual pocketwatch. Nuns in Crocs, Were you interested in the TV Arrowverse version of Vandal Savage, or the comic book version?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

That's possible, but I think it's more like the production team trying to throw us off the scent by sending us into a frenzy over a wild goose chase.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I tend to think that it's Dr. Phosphorus, because Blight tended to keep his suit on, and never really exposed his chest, whereas Dr. Phosphorus tended to just blow up. I know that's more empirical than realistic evidence, but I figured that it might be useful. Either way, it doesn't really matter who it is,because the pieces can be used to build purist versions of the other one no matter who it actually turns out to be! I'm not sure who it is that you're talking about. If you go directly behind Joker in a straight line, it's Poison Ivy, but if you go off to the right on a diagonal, but still directly behind Joker, it's the Gotham City mayor whose name escapes me right now. Behind Scarecrow are Zan and Jayna; The Wonder Twins, who first appeared on Super Friends back in the '70's and '80's. I feel like the age thing is a bit of a crapshoot, to be honest, as we've seen a lot but his torso seems fine to me. Just curious, what don't you like about it? Might be Montoya, as some have speculated. YES! I see him too! I don't think it's Polka Dot Man, because I can tell that he's wearing a cap or hat of some kind, and that is definitely white, as are his arms, but his torso and other parts seem to be darker colors. Guess we'll have to wait for either newer posters or the movie itself. Absolutely! I think his torso could function as the 'injured' torso of any shirtless, fit white male, and that description alone really shows how infinitely useful it might be. Me too! March Harriet is really nice, but you're right, it's frustrating that we don't have a Mad Hatter, especially with her, although I think she could open up the door to him later on down the road! Zsasz would have to be cleaned up, and that might not be possible, given Lego's target audience, and Zsasz's nature, so I hate to say this, but I think he's off the table. Lego's Chinese Gangster smirk face and plain shirtless flesh torso from Indiana Jones have worked well thus far, and the Mutant Leader has a similar shirtless torso, but with scars, to boot, so a purist version is very possible! As for Ventriloquist and Amygdala, I'd say they're possible, but go for customs in the mean time. All righty: Main protagonists: Batman, Robin, Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), and Alfred, and possibly that cop in the far back, along with Montoya/Julia Pennyworth/Chief O'Hara (we don't know yet exactly who this is yet.*), on the far right, and Commisioner Gordon, given the fact that they made the poster at all. In other words, the definitive protagonists are Batman, Robin, Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), and Alfred, and possible protagonists are the cop in the far back, Montoya/Julia Pennyworth on the far right, and Commisioner Gordon. Villains, L-R: The Mutant Leader, the Kabuki Twins, Hugo Strange, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Joker, Killer Croc, Penguin, March Harriet, Captain Boomerang, Riddler Scarecrow, Bane, Catwoman, Mime, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, Clayface, Blight/Doctor Phosphorus/Atomic Skull (we don't know exactly who this is yet either), and Man-Bat. Citizens of Gotham: If it turns out they're not protagonists, that cop in the far back, and Montoya/Julia Pennyworth on the far right get demoted to citizens of Gotham. The mayor is seemingly the only definitive citizen in this poster. Justice League members, L-R: Hawkman or Hawkgirl (hard to tell which is which), Flash, Black Canary, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Aquaman, Tarantula II, Green Arrow, Zan and Jayna; The Wonder Twins, Wonder Woman, Superman, Martian Manhunter, and again, Hawkman or Hawkgirl, (hard to tell which is which). Hope this helps! Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese. *An internet conversation with a member of the production team (as seen right here, two pages ago) outright stated that it's a genderbent Chief O'Hara from Batman '66, but I'd take that with a grain of salt. It's possible, but it seems like a joke to me.

Ah, I see. I started doing research on Alchemy's comic version after he came out on The Flash, and it turned out to be a continuity snarl that I didn't want to touch with a ten-foot pole, and I'm simply not familiar with Savitar, that's why I didn't recognize the comic versions. :) LegoMcBoss, thanks for the info, and Duncan Young, thanks for the links.

Shoot! I knew I forgot something when writing that post! Thanks for pointing that out for me. I'd recommend the back of Ringo's torso from The Beatles set, (with yellow arms and flesh hands) as it has stripes in both the right colors (essentially) and orientation to boot. Recognize Savitar and Alchemy, (both beautiful; Alchemy's head could use some tweaking), but who are the other two?

    Purist Superhero Figures

It's no problem! In other news, I figured out a good way to make uber classic James Jesse Trickster! CMF Dog Show Winner's Hair (or the BVS variant in a blondish color), Robin '66 face, the back of Ringo's torso with yellow arms and flesh hands, Axel Walker's hips, ironically enough, and the new city scuba diver's red striped legs, with blue 1x1 modified tooth plates beneath for his air shoes. :)

Nice job, but I feel like that suit is inherently Walker-like. Jesse was more chaotic in his costume, and he also had blonde hair. :)
