    Custom Minifigure Ideas

So, there's a topic about purist superheroes, but as a new Eurobricks user, I haven't yet found a place to just throw out purist or other custom minifigure ideas. Any custom minifigure idea is welcome, purist or modded, so long as it has at least one major difference from an out of the box TLG figure. Remember, ANY custom figures are welcome here.

    Purist Superhero Figures

SUPER POST PART # 1! I have a lot of super hero minifigures that I've never posted here but did post on Flickr, so here goes. Since there are so many big files to upload, I don't how many posts it's going to take to finish all of the images that I've chosen to share. Fair warning: Not all of these are purist. Some of them are photographed together and whatnot. I know that I should stick to 100% purism, especially in this thread, but there are some figs that I can not rephotograph because of technical difficulties and whatnot. Also, I included some non-purist figures, just to get some inspiration flowing. I will note which ones are not 100% purist though, so at least you have some solace. Anywho, enjoy! Also, in terms of nonpurism, purists, get some inspiration and make a purist version that's ten times as awesome! Getting all of the evil non-purist stuff out of the way first ... Guy's ring and pants are painted. This was before we had GL, so pretend the ring doesn't exist and he has the GL pants. Ignore Steve's gear. Aresia is somewhat modded, but I posted her so mostly so that others could get inspiration. Eiling's gear is all third party, and Loki's stuff is, regrettably, a deity forsaken Megablok. I know, I know, I've heard all the comments. I'm so, so, sorry. Ignore Guy's ring. 100% purist! :) 100% purist! :) That's all for part 1 folks! :)

    Scooby-Doo 2015 Rumours & Discussion

Oh, I misinterpreted your words. You're totally right, that's all on me. Anyway, I apologize and just FTR, what I was repeating Mrfang2 what I was telling you about, so basically, I just repeated my own misinterpretation of what you had said, not what he had said. I thought he and I were on the same page, but thinking back, I may have misinterpreted his post too. Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone. Like I just wrote Strangley, I merely misinterpreted what he and Mrfang2 were getting at. In any case, even though its based off a poor interpretation, I wouldn't say that the criticism itself isn't relevant, just poor. It's not good, but either way, if I had correctly interpreted what he was getting at, it would be both relative and valid to boot. Again, I'm not as good as a writer as I am a speaker, so forgive me if I sound offensive, and I'm apologizing in advance if I manage to somehow sound offensive anyway.

    Scooby-Doo 2015 Rumours & Discussion

Strangley, personally, I think that complaining about the "vehicles they don't own" thing is just ugh. No offense, but get over it. Lego wants to take some creative licence with a theme? Let 'em! Also there are several canon depictions where at least one of the gang comes from an obscenely wealthy family. Shaggy's family's been rich, Fred's dad was once the mayor, Daphne's family once owned a HUGE mansion [which Lego should totally cash in on, especially if they aimed it a little bit towards girls], et hoc genus omne. Besides, can you name one reason that a Mystery [insert varied vehicle here] isn't cool? I mean, I would put the CMF Hippy in it and make some awesome pics and whatnot. But hey, that's just me. I can see why a die hard fan or someone else might not like them expanding on what the source material dictates. After all, in every adaptation of any property to another form, every single legitimate complaint can be boiled down, in some way or form, to a divergence from the source material. Non-existent villain vehicles? You sir or madam, need to be working for TLG. That is genius! :) Regrettably though, we've seen previews, and it doesn't seem like there are any, but like the New York lottery says: "Hey, you never know." So here's hoping to those, perhaps during a second wave. Speaking of the Space Kook, I am a Whovian (the jargon for a fan of the British sci-fi television series, Dr. Who, which, by the way I HIGHLY recommend [in case you weren't aware of the meaning]), and there are Dr. Who creatures called the Vashta Nerada (va-sh-ta neigh-rah-da), and they look almost exactly like the Space Kook, being that they are both essentially skeletons in space suits. Purist Lego Vashta Nerada are pretty easy, just throw a classic Skeleton head on a Star Wars Hoth trooper, and a space helmet, and viola, Vashta Nerada/Space Kook. There are minor differences, but I'll leave those for the die-hard fans to nitpick [rightfully so] about. Also, I have made a purist Miner 49'er, and have made some attempts at other Scooby villains in the event that they get glossed over by those in charge at TLG. My depiction of Miner 49'er can be found on my Flickr account, the link to which is here: https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ Again, my Flickr account has a picture of my Vashta Nerada/Space Kook stand in, so you can check that out here: https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ Finally, I'd like to direct you to an old Scooby-Doo Ideas Project where some pretty kick-megablocks purist villains were made, coupled with citizen heads, so those might be of some interest too, and they can be found here ... : https://ideas.lego.com/projects/58552 ... and here: https://www.flickr.c...157640415467104

    James Bond

Glad my advice could be of use! :) Also, I'm wondering what that new minifigure project could be? Since it's been a bit since that last post, I have to ask: Have you posted it already?
  6. I think that slightly modded shoulders would be GREAT, [like the skeleton, but firm, as some one has already said] as would short poseable legs. Otherwise, I think the minifigure is what it is. Also, someone said that they'd like to see more arm mold variation other than the Man-Bat and bat creature wings, and I totally agree with that. Also, someone mentioned T-shirts. What I call "double-printing", where one piece, like say, an arm, has two colors on it, has already happened, but on an extremely limited number of figures. I only know of two, but I think more will come out soon. I am lucky enough to own the Target exclusive Superboy, and he wears a black T-shirt, which Lego recreated faithfully, with half colored arms and all. The issue is, for those who like the classic yellow, he has flesh arms, and for those who'd like some racial variety, Superboy is Caucasian, so there's that. Also, the collectible minifig line has a few of these, all of which are in the classic yellow, and one where the dude is wearing a light grey undershirt, so the sleeves of that are sticking out from his T-shirt. The Simpsons collectible minifgure line has ALOT of these, so for those going Lego T-shirt hunting, that's where I'd start. On another note, I've managed to string an official Lego rubber band through the body, and then just make sure that it wraps slightly around the shoulder joint, and voila, the arms are "streched out". It is very hard to do on newer mini-figures, because of the "pegs" in the torso that help the waist tighten to the legs but on the older ones that don't have these, or they are less invasive, (like a 1980 something Space Guy :P), it is MUCH easier, and looks GREAT on both new and old. If done right, it looks kind of like this: 0 >---I---< /\ Also, there are third party options, at least in the way of arm articulation. Disclaimer: I've never used this company, so try this AT YOUR OWN RISK. http://crazybricks.b...air-ghost-white or http://crazybricks.b...ures-pair-black There are also creative "purist" ways to make poseable minifigures, I actually think there's a thread here on Eurobricks about it, so there's that.

    Purist Superhero Figures

The last post I made here was a while ago, and since I've been busy with a lot of stuff since I posted last, and now that I'm slightly in the clear again, I figured that this time, I would post some more formal superheroes, like the Arrowverse version of Oliver Queen (Island). It appears that I can't insert Flickr images properly, so, I'm just going to link to the Flickr post. There are other purist (and non purist) superhero posts on my Flickr if you guys are interested.

    James Bond

Personally, I prefer fleshies, but these look amazing! In terms of Bond's weaponary, personally, I think that custom weapons (3rd party, not knockoffs) would be the way to go, but there are some mediocre purist solutions that I've seen. Also, there are these clunky, nondescript automatic handguns that came in both Batman and Indiana Jones, with different barrel lengths. Batman's had short barrel lengths (found here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=bb192), whilst the Indiana Jones' ones had longer, but still shortish barrel lengths (found here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=62885), and then of course, they had these wacky things with huge barrels that resembled Tommy guns, and these came in various sets, Indiana Jones, Batman, Cars, Pharoh's Quest, and maybe some others I believe, and they can be found here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x1608. While we're on the subject of weaponry, there are some really nice swords in the Ninjago line, found here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=S&catID=759. Also, for the Die Another Day version of Bond, there's a newish hairpiece that can solve your beard-hair coloring problem. It originally came with the Caveman in the first CMF series, and as far as I know, has not been used on anybody else, it's can be found here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87999. It's a bit bushy, and it clouds up most of the face, but I think that it might work okay for this. I would recommend using your other Pierce Brosnan head and this hair-beard thing for an ideal look. Keep up the great work! :)

    Homer Arms on SpongeBob

I tried using the Video Game Guys arms (the doulble printed ones, the grey and black) on Tony Stark, and they were loose as hell, and swung around in circles when I moved the figure back and forth. I got another one later on, and these arms were too tight! Mine's bad, but I've heard horror stories about mixing and matching. Anyway, all I'm trying to say is: When mixing CMF and regular minifigs, don't be surprised if bad **** happens.

Since I'm only mediocre at attaching pictures, I'm going to just put the Flickr links to some of my newer creations: Circe, Punisher and Ragdoll https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ - Circe + Deadshot's little pistol thingmababers from LB3 https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ - The Punisher + a shotgun + some purist 12 gauge ammo + Ragdoll. Enjoy! :)

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

Does anybody know what retailer has the new minifigure box set, the one with Lightning Lad, and whether or not it is yet available or still available? I tried to look for it online, and got a bunch of confusing information.

    Purist Superhero Figures

Hello Eurobricks! I'm new here (as a member, I've been a guest for a long time), so instead of going back and posting all of my purist figures (which is almost all of them), I''ll leave my Flickr link in the signature. Not to waste my first post or be thrown off by an admin, I am going to post my latest work, which is a rendition of the T-800 Terminator.
