    Purist TV/Movie Figures

Try this: http://alpha.brickli...7&O={"color":7} The first one on this list looks good to me, but check out the rest of the people there if there’s another one that you think might be better. http://www.bricklink...P&catID=238&v=1 You’re very welcome! I hope your Cutler comes out great! As for the colors, I know that feeling, all too well. I checked, and according to Bricklink, the gargoyle is definitely light bluish grey, like the legs here: http://alpha.brickli...&O={"color":86} My Space Kook was meant to be an approximation of what he looks like, not as perfect as some others I’ve seen, but it actually works for my purposes. If you or anyone else manages to come up with a more accurate design, I'll snatch it right up. :P As for Charlie and dark azure, I think that would work pretty good. I don’t have any actual bricks to compare, but what I’ve Bricklinked and whatnot, that color seems right for him. I don’t have all the pieces, so I’d love to see an image here when you finish! :D Sorry about chastising you for the references to customization. For the record it's not that I actually care myself, it's just that sometimes moderators are very trigger happy when it comes to that kind of thing, and I would hate to see someone get thrown off/banned for that. Making Scooby Doo’s Skeleton Men from the Skeleton guy seems like a great idea, but I think our purist choices are to use either of the existing cyclops heads, or to wait it out. Either way, sounds good to me. Plus, like you said, customization might be the route to go for them. That Thorn sounds great! This hair might be a good one for her: http://alpha.brickli...={"color":"11"} This figure might have good bricks for the rest of Dusk http://alpha.brickli...as503#T=S&O={}. Luna looks to me as though she has suffered from the “Nick Fury effect” where there are two versions of her character, each one being of a different race. African-American Luna can use pieces from Storm and Dracula’s Wife from Monster Fighters, assuming we’re continuing with the dresses look, while Caucasian Luna can use the same torsos/legs/ arms, but obviously, change her hands and head. As for the hair on either version, either one of these two could work. 1) http://alpha.brickli...O={"color":"5"} 2) http://alpha.brickli...=53982#T=S&O={} And of course, the Hex Girls wouldn’t be the Hex Girls without rocking guitars! http://www.bricklink...8&catType=P&v=1 The red one(s) might work very well for Thorn, the white one looks like some of the ones I recall Dusk carrying, and Luna gets the pick of the litter. EDIT: Part of your Creeper design is up on my Flickr now. Don't worry, I gave you credit.

I see. Well, the only other crazy face I can recommend is the Chinese gangster face from Indiana Jones. (http://alpha.brickli...&O={"color":90}) Although, to be fair, that head might be a bit TOO maniacal. The torso is good, but there might be other ones out there worth looking into. Also, Numbuh1Nerd tried using the CMF genie’s tail thingy and the Mandarin’s head to achieve Mist, so maybe those are worth looking at too. Either way, happy building! I saw that on Flickr! Nice job! By the way, I think trail is good. :P Nice! Regarding uses for Hank Pym’s torso, you do mean a use other than for Hank Pym, right? :P I’m looking at the Clay set and scratching my head. How do you plan on using that stuff for the Flash? As for Macy’s armor, it could work for literally any Red Lantern. Bleez (plus, the fire pieces in Clay’s set would make great wings) Atrocitus Ratchet Guy Gardner (He was a Red Lantern for a period of time) Zilius Zox (The ball shaped guy) FIVE?! Are you kidding me? Ugh. That stinks. They probably will be released at one point in green, but it still stinks, at least for right now. Also, I can’t wait to see your GA and other stuff! Airbenderfreak, welcome to the thread! :) As for your designs, they sound great! If you can though, post a picture so that we can see what it looks like as well. Either way, your design is great, and I hope to see more of your stuff in the future! :) Not that I know of. The only printed red arms I know of are the C-3P0 arm (that’s dark red though . . .) the newest of the new Darth Maul arms [http://www.bricklink...P=973pb1127c01], and Carnage’s arms. Unfortunately, none of those look like armor. Bart Simpson's yellow/red arms with red hands make for a pretty good design, but other than that, there’s nothing that comes to mind. Sorry. :(

Thanks for the clarification about Barry's hair. :) As for Kyle, the head is good, but could use a bit more mania. Might I suggest the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent's head? For starters . . . I'd go with flesh hands. You chose the green to represent his gaseous form, right? It works, but only to a certain extent . . . The pants are great, but the torso seems a bit off. Maybe it's the yellow? Anyway, that's a great start to what I'm sure will be an awesome figure! :) In that case, I'd stick for Barrowman's Merlyn (at least for now). YES! Please post a link to that here! :D As for the Nexo Knights stuff, glad you were able to pick that up! Just a thought: Macy's gear could potentially be used for a minifigure scale red lantern.

Just to let you guys know, I reposted bits and pieces of the conversation regarding Hulk_Smash's Barry Allen in the Purist TV/Movie Figures thread, because I thought that some of the comments could help with other TV characters. Now, this begs the question as to whether or not TV superheroes should go here or in the TV thread, but that is a debate that may need its own thread entirely. Regardless, I hope that all of us here can glean some ideas from the great inspiration posited in the Purist TV/Movie Figures thread.

    Purist TV/Movie Figures

In the Purist Superhero Figures thread's attempt to create a TV style Barry Allen, one user, Krikkit, noted that the version of Barry Allen seen below, which was originally posted by Hulk_Smash, somewhat resembled John Barrowman. Another user, Jbricks, believed he resembled Mark Hamill's 2014/2015 Trickster, as he played on the CW's The Flash. I myself started to list some some of John Barrowman's TV roles, and it was then that I realized that this discussion might belong here, in the Purist TV/Movie Figures thread. The unquoted comments on the bottom are my own thoughts, but since I was restricting myself to purist superheroes (because of the thread that this discussion first appeared in), I think we can expand that list. Hulk_Smash has two other designs to contribute towards a purist TV Barry Allen, which are found here, on the last page of the Purist Superhero Figures thread. Since this thread is slightly less popular than the Purist Superhero Figures thread, I daresay that it is worth looking there for some TV superheroes, as some people who post them there might not be aware that a dedicated TV thread exists. Now, this begs the question as to whether or not TV superheroes should go here or in the superheroes thread, but that is a debate that may need its own thread entirely. Regardless, I hope that all of us here can glean some inspiration from the great ideas posited in the Purist Superhero Figures thread. My comments: That concept (EDIT: Resemblance to John Barrowman) could be used a lot, actually . . . CW's Merlin Jack Harkness The Stranger [Marvel] {He did the voice once, so that one is more of a joke, but Oky - Space Ranger is far better at those then I am . . .} And those are just the ones that belong in this thread! :D Thanks for the idea! EDIT: If you want use that idea as a CW Trickster, then that would also not only be a great idea, but also a great Oky - Space Ranger joke, as Mark Hamill played both Luke, (the character whose head it is), AND the CW Trickster. Just a thought.

I know its a long shot, but since I saw you commented, I thought I'd ask. When you started this thread with Cyclops, the picture you linked (which has since succumbed to either link rot or another form of deterioration . . .) was the Racer X torso, right? In other words, this one?

    Non-Purist Superhero Figures

What is non-purist about this, may I ask? As has already been said in the Purist thread, purism is a legitimate form of customization. As I said to c0rnedfr0g about his Apache Chief, what makes these non-purist? Juggernaut: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3626bpb0419&in=S Wolverine: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3626bpb0417&in=S I second this. There should be an explanation, even if its something like: "Paint." For anyone who has purist ideas, and doesn't know what to do with them, the purist superhero thread can be found here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=68912&st=0

Personally, I feel as though that Luke face is really only good for a CW/TV style Merlyn, as he was portrayed by John Barrowman. If you're looking for a comics style Merlyn, I'd use Tony Stark's face, if you can spare one. A Lego DC Chess set?! I'd love to see that! I think you should create a thread and show it off, if you haven't already! :D Yes. PREACH. I haven't heard of any such brick, but I'd love to use/have dual-molded arms like that! 1) Barry's hair looks funky to me. Did you change the hair you had before to black, or is it just the lighting? Either way, Barry's hair should be the brown one in that spiky style . . . His face, however, looks great! :D 2) I thought you'd done it deliberately. Either way, it looks really cool. :) 3) I don't have it either. I'd just thought that the aesthetic would work if you did have them. Either way, it still looks great, and you shouldn't worry about those. Just so you know, though, you don't have to get the entire figure for just the hips. If you want the hips, they're available on Bricklink. (If you're interested, that link will take you to the hips' page, not the Bricklink homepage.)

Interesting. I flipped through trans bright green's Bricklink page and found that it's usually used in Hero Factory. Thanks for the help. Yup, I think that's pretty nice. The only thing would be to use those Raimi movie spider hips I talked about, for the whole aesthetic. And as for the background, that clears things up nicely. Thanks! By the way, I also love the gun mod you did on the Deadpool figure you have hanging out on the TARDIS' roof. I've seen the binoculars or the fork (as I like to call that piece that's hanging down from the bottom), but never both. Brilliant! :D Personally, I think the photo you posted looks great, gray pants/arms and all. Definitely 3, but like everyone's been saying, he needs a new face. Like Jbricks said, that face could make a good CW Trickster . . . So true! That concept could be used a lot, actually . . . CW Merlin Jack Harkness The Stranger [Marvel] {He did the voice once, so that one is more of a joke, but Oky - Space Ranger is far better at those then I am . . .} And those are just the ones that belong in this thread! :D Thanks for the idea!

Maybe try sticking that aptly described "gown/cape thingie from the judge figure" between the legs and the hips? It might be a bit long, but I think that might look good. Again, off-topic, and again, regarding the Rey Funko Pop: How big is it? I see it next the TARDIS in your picture, and it seems like it's roughly the same height, but is it actually? Thanks! :) That looks awesome! :D Also, I don't have any Nexo Knights stuff yet, so I have to ask that is a new trans-green, right? It looks different from the trans-green I'm used to see. The bright green is too close to yellow, in my opinion, and the dark green is well, a bit dark. This one looks great! If it's not too much trouble, could you post a pic with some other trans-green gear so I could see the difference? If there is any, that is. Thanks!

I've never heard of Spider-Man India, but based on a quick Google search, this one looks great! Anyone who has the Raimi movie Spidey could try attaching those spider/web patterned hips to Luke's legs, and then attaching that combo to either the classic comic Spidey or the Raimi movie Spidey, which could be done if somebody wanted to represent the piece of fabric that from what I've seen on Google images, is commonly found dangling in front of Spider-Man India's legs. Seen here, amongst other places: https://en.wikipedia...r-Man_India.jpg Just a thought . . . Off-topic, I know, but Hulk_Smash, I really like that Rey statuette in the background of your Spider-Man India photo. Is that Funko Pop?

That's a great idea! Using the Racer X torso (from way back when K-Nut started this thread off with Cyclops) the hips with the silver buckle and letter 'X' on them, EDIT: with your hair of course! coupled with black pants, would start off a great X-2 Jean Grey.

Sorry for writing so much. It’s a gift and a curse. Also, my apologies, but it seems like my embedded links are not working at all, so you'll have to do all of the Brick-Linking yourself. :( Old Iron Face: Brilliant! It’s a perfect representation of him! :) (Bricklink, here I come! :P) +1 for using the Scooby-Doo skis. :P Captain Cutler: N_Cat and I put together a great idea for Captain Cutler, if you're looking for something new . . . Helmet: CMF Diver’s helmet, or a lime green aviator helmet. The choice is yours. Head: A plain minifigure head, in “bright light blue”. Torso: Lighthouse Shaggy’s torso, backwards, plus lime green arms and hands to match. Legs: Lasha’s from Ninjago. Spooky Space Kook: If you’re interested in a new design, here’s mine: Mr. Freeze’s legs and torso, with the red eyed skull heads, or, ditch Mr. Freeze’s helmet and mask and try the classic Mr. Freeze helmet in “trans medium blue” instead. My version is seen on my Flickr page. As a bonus, check out the links in the description there. https://www.flickr.c...hotolist-v8KrSC That skull in the picture is the red eyed skull I was talking about. The Creeper: Also brilliant! :D EDIT: I’d recommend the classic Remus Lupin torso, though . . . EDIT # 2: Also, this torso might work. Also, these aren't figures I've altered in any way, but I am using them as Scooby-Doo villains for my display. +1 again for using already existing figures! :) The gargoyle makes for a decent enough Gargoyle of Notre Dame from What's New Scooby-Doo. Woah! I’d forgotten about her! (Yes, I Googled it. :P) Good job for figuring out a use for a completely regular figure! :) I’d try full length grey legs if you have them, though . . . I'm sort of using the de-horned wampa as a half decent Snow Ghost. I never really liked big-figs as much as I did minifigs, but I will admit that that de-horned wampa would make a pretty great Snow Ghost! The brick-built or regular Yeti(s) would do pretty good too, though . . . I feel like it would make a really great 10,000 Volt Ghost if it were painted Orange with some yellow accents around the pointy fur. That’s for another thread in this forum, but I like the idea . . . And finally, the two spectres make for pretty decent versions of the Green Ghosts. I'd certainly like to make them green and give them new faces, but I have literally no idea how to go about properly painting Lego figures. Again, I’m sure there’s a thread here for that, but it’s not this one. Again, great idea, though. And as for purist Green Ghosts, the regular hood comes in dark green, and the Jawa heads, or the two or so chima heads that are black with orange eyes could each be used as a great substitute for now. Charlie: A blue pilot’s helmet, flesh smiley, and purple torso are genius for Charlie. The other bits however, could use some work, in my opinion. I think plain blue or even light blue arms/legs would be good, and plain blue hands (if using light blue arms, and light blue hands if using plain blue arms) would be fine too. The site below shows what Charlie looks like in his Lego Dimensions appearance, so let’s hope for an official Charlie minifigure for 2016! :D http://lego.wikia.co...e_Funland_Robot I responded to your comment above. ^ Eurobricks was going all funky on me before, so I thought "better late than never" would apply here.

Sorry, I haven't had Internet acssess for a few days now, so I couldn't respond, and I just saw your post right now. I was talking about using the torso as well . . . I thought it would be the closest purist solution. Unfortunately, there's nothing better that I can think of without outright customization.

^ That face does work very well for a laughing gas Batman! :) If I had the time or the bricks, I'd make such a scene myself! OH NO! ALMOST ALL OF EMOJI GOTHAM HAS BEEN EXPOSED! HEAD FOR THE HILLS! That is also a great idea! 8BrickMario, I was wondering: Is that Series 14 notification in your signature courtesy of one of Eurobricks' HTML accessories, or did you just type it in? Either way, it looks really cool! :D Keep up the good ideas, guys and girls! :)

Up until now, I've preferred to use the fear gas bombs themselves, but this is even better! Moreover, it could actually be used as an alternate Joker head . . . Oh the possibilities! EDIT: Hyperlink simplification. Also, a little late Christmas gift for those into the obscure superhero game . . . Elongated Man's red costume could very easily be achieved via the official Plastic Man. If not the entire suit, then most definitely the legs . . .

Merry Christmas! Just wanted to share a quick revelation: The new CMF Zombie cheerleader has hair that would be perfect for a minor Scooby-Doo character, Dusk. She's a member of the in universe band the Hex-Girls. https://www.google.com/search?q=hex+girls&safe=strict&rlz=1CAHPZY_enUS667US667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj-n-691vjJAhUBbiYKHeZSAk4Q_AUICCgC&biw=1366&bih=657#safe=strict&tbm=isch&q=hex+girls+dusk&imgrc=d_lo-epRc0GHEM%3A

    Lego hair pieces

Captain Marvel's hair piece, from the set images I can see looks as though it's the same as the Trickster's from DC, so you might be good. As for Captain America, that looks new to me . . . To be fair, I'd wait until the sets are actually released . . .

I did some searching on Bricklink, and I found this gem, which could be used instead of a diving helmet. Also, off topic, but I think we should start a purist Scooby Doo thread, if enough ideas pop up here. I also think that purist threads should be started for any idea that has enough figures. Maybe that's a bit much, but still . . .

    Purist TV/Movie Figures

Yes, as far as I know, that diving helmet is the only one. There have been many versions I've seen of Captain Cutler, but yours seems pretty darn cool! Besides yours, the only one I really like is this one, which, ironically enough, the back of the non-Scooby Swamp Monster's head stuffed into the full CMF diving suit. A skeleton head might also work in there too. The reason I like yours better though, is because the designs I've seen all "copped out" so to speak, and went for the diving suit look, but yours went for the classic Phosphorum Pyrphra look. :D (I can't believe I remember the name of the glowing seaweed from the Graveyard of Ships after all these years!) + 1 for the defense of purism. - The Big Red Cheese EDIT: I forgot to mention how awesome it is that your were able to use parts from the Scooby Doo line to achieve a purist version of another Scooby Doo character!

    Purist TV/Movie Figures

Apologies, I mis-typed. I do not have a Captain Cutler minifgure. If I did, it would be here, on my Flickr page, or both. I directed my question towards comix because he noted that he was inspired by my Puppetmaster design, and although he mentioned his own designs, he never posted them. Sorry if I originally came across this way, but I wasn't trying to hold him to a standard to which I wouldn't hold myself to. Purism is a legitimate form of customization. Of course, this is up for debate, but this is not the place for said debate . . .
  23. TheBigRedCheese

    Purist TV/Movie Figures

Could you post some of your designs here in the thread, even if it's just links and a description? Captain Cutler and I've made the Space Kook myself, as well as the Puppetmaster and Miner Forty-Niner. Still, I can't possibly imagine a Charlie the Robot, and I would like to see how you achieved the figures that I've done, as my designs could always be improved upon. :)

Not including the snake and frog, we also have the mini-dino from the 2008 Batcave, the early 2000's giant dino, as well as an alligator in the right shade, and a pretty large number of others. Here is the link to all things bright green on Bricklink: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=5&colorPart=36&catType=P Look for animal in the search box, and try that. I have others that come to mind, and I will write another post about that later tonight. Yes, yes there are. :)
