Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

Glasgow store already has these for sale, so worth looking out for it in others.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

Nuremberg toy fair 30th Jan - 3rd Feb and New York toy fair 16th - 19th February. Not too long too wait then, thats if they allow photo’s this year at all, as if memory serves me right there were no photo’s from any fairs last year. Might have to rely on something from Legoworld in Copenhagen 14th - 17th Feb which used to be good for pics of new stuff.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

Maybe the fire truck is part of the space theme and is a new/updated version of 6614 Launch Evac 1!

    10264 Corner Garage

If this had a mirror image of the left hand side on the right side ie doing away with the actual garage area with the roller shutter, it could make a not bad looking hospital once the petrol pumps had been removed also, as the canopy area would be the Ambulance arrival area for the A&E/ER. IMO

Maybe there will be a police vehicle and 1 or 2 police minifigs included.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

I see where you are coming from regards the numbers, but I don't think there will be anymore engines for release in 2019 if you go by the same principle of the Deep Sea Explorers theme, each vehicle/vessel in the sets had a number 60092 DS Submarine - Sub numbered E01 60093 DS Helicopter - Sub #E02, Helicopter #E03 60095 DS Exploration Vessel - Personal Watercraft (PWC) #E04, Inflatable dingy 60095 (could therefore be E05 or the un-numbered sub), Boat #E06 60096 DS Operation Base - Sub #E07, PWC #08, Plane E09 So with the latest fire sets there appears to be only a few numbered ie 60215 4x4 is #1, 60214 Truck is #4, 2016 Tiller Truck is #7 and 60217 Plane is #10 I would reckon the other vehicles etc in the sets fill the missing gaps although not officially numbered. 60213 Dockside - RIB could be #03 60214 Burger Bar - Truck #04, Motorcycle could be #05 60215 Fire Stn - 4x4 #01, Jet Ski could be #2 60216 Downtown Fire - Motorcycle could be #6, Tiller Truck #7, Helicopter could be #8, Remote control Scoosher could be #9 60217 Fire Plane - Plane #10, ATV could be #11 Hope you see my logic in the numbering.

Did you mean CC instead of GG?

    [MOC] BRICK SQUARE POST OFFICE

Hi Bricked1980, what programme did you use to design/create this ‘build’ ie LDD etc?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

So with the DD having 2480 pieces which included a car and adding several hundred more in the new Modular, this could push it into the 3000 piece range which we havn't had from a Mod building before, apart from the 48 wide Assembly Square at 4002 pieces. So as you say maybe 3 vehicles (for a garage) or a more complex layout (Police Station). Good to see we are back onto the speculation again, whatever each of us would prefer to see built!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I've seen pics of this Police station before and I'm with you on this in thinking this would be an ideal building to base a Lego Modular on.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Although there are no leaks or much info to go on other than a twitter reply with Police mentioned, we can still speculate to what it might/could be. As much as I want a Police Station and hopefully the clue in the said twitter reply is a good clue, I don't think it will be a Police Station (or PS for short) per say. The logic in this reason is, we have the Pet Shop and therefore already have a PS. So if it is to be a Police Station building, I am going for it being called Police Precinct!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Is there anything 'cast in stone' that the modulars are to be released at beginning of January? So you may be right, the release date could be different for next year, as it is only the last 4/5 that have been released in January albeit the AS was released in Europe in Nov and Jan for the US. March has been another common release time for the earlier Modulars so a later release could be possible.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

And then when the waiting is finally over it will be the same as every other year with everyone's responses from 'Awesome' and 'excellent', 'Fits perfect with my modular ton' to 'Meh' , 'not what I was expecting' or can't believe they have released this instead of that, etc

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I would hazard a guess that on the January store calendars, that there will just be a blank box place holder showing if anything, for the announcement of the new modular building (similar to what has been in recent catalogues) as these calendar will have already been printed and getting distributed, so if there was a pic of the new modular, I would have thought it would have leaked by now as the calendar printing will be outsourced.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

I'm kind of liking the Fire sets apart from the big bulky water cannons on some of them. The fire station set 60215, looks like an updated version of of 7240 from 2005. Its a kind of an in between station IMO, as going by the jet ski, I thought it was to cover a water area ie docks or river so could have been a water rescue stn and compliment 60213 Dockside fire, but the vehicle that comes with it is more akin to a wildfire truck, which could be to compliment the fire plane set, so its neither a water stn or wildfire stn. There appears to be 4 different fire uniforms this time which is a bit strange but maybe to do with the roles each minifig does. The usual white shirt for the officers but then you have some in black, some in tan and some in an orange/yellow!

    [MOC]Horse Drawn Fire Engine

Excellent! This is what the WV Firestation should have had instead of the fire engine. Top marks

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

They could always do something similar like when they released the DO in January 2015 and there was a free with qualifying purchase of the flower cart, but this time having a dohnut stand if it is a Police Stn!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

How good would that be if it happened. I know re-release of CC or GG not to everyone's taste, but if it was in addition to the years new release I have no issue. They certainly seem to be about to make room for some 'New' releases if some of those big sets are about to be retired.

[MOC] Galeries Lafayette, a french mall

Well jalemac34, if this is as you say, your last creation, you certainly are going out with a bang as this is a very impressive MOC. Loads of detail and I really like they way you have handled the angled corners. With this standard I hope there has been confusion with the translation from French to English and you actually mean latest creation instead of last!

REVIEW: 10263 Winter Village Fire Station

You could always make the fire engine into a horse drawn pump! Or turn the fire station into something for your tourists

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I guess it is the price it is, because it comes complete with power function motors, so that will bump it up a bit! Quite happy to see this released mainstream, as I didn't fancy paying secondary market prices for the original staff gift set 4999. This will fit nicely to my mini wind farm of 3 wind turbines from set 7747.
  23. Happy to see a Fire Station released as the latest release for the WV series for many reasons, not just because I'm a firefighter. Its good to see that the series is kind of back on the format of small styled buildings from the original first 3 releases, as I personally thought the cottage was too big and looked out of place and the santa workshop although nice seemed a blip in the series imo and I won't go there with the re-released Toy shop. Anyway back to the Fire Station and the Fire service fits in with the WV them as in many towns and villages, the Fire Service are involved with festivities by driving Santa through towns/villages and many a fire engine can be seen out and about assisting putting up Xmas decorations. Yes the building maybe doesn't look like the style of the first 3 buildings, ie sloped roof with snow on and does look more like a Chicago/New York style station, but I like it all the same and it was never going to suit everyones pallet after seeing some of the Winter Fire Stations MOC's that have been made. This is maybe why the designers made it this way so it couldn't be claimed as a copy or too similar to someones creation. On this note, I did build one myself on the Lego Inside Tour in 2014 but mine had sloped roofs too. The engine is neat and fits the era it is designed for. Maybe the only change I would have made is having the ladder in Reddish Brown to resemble a wooden ladder. The firefighters uniforms are great, hope these become available on BnP as would get these for my city Firefighters to use on ceremonial parades.
