Totally called the piece they used for those engine grills haha Looks like a great set. Disappointed by the stickers and pilot heads as much as everyone else, but as I don't have the last one I'm definitely getting it.

Can I please call everyone's attention back to that Italian site from a few pages ago? The guy on there seemingly saw the UCS BB-8 before we even knew about it and was talking about a play set sized SSD (and an AT-AT as well!)
-
I think he bought them on purpose, hence the italics on "accidentally"
-
About 15 minutes after New York Toy Fair started, @ForceGhostSolo (whose account had barely any posts) came out of nowhere claiming to have seen the sets and people believed him. There was at least 4 pages of talking with him before someone decided to question it. Someone else (can't remember who but they deserve credit for it) proved he was faking it by making up a list of sets and PMing it to him saying "is this what we're getting?" He replied with "yes"
-
It was on that Italian site that got linked to where they talked about a possible Super Star Destroyer and the "UCS" BB-8. Like someone mentioned before, if the rumour is true the SSD is probably a FO star destroyer and I expect the AT-AT to be the one from TFA

I thought we were getting 8 sets? Or was this before we knew about BB-8?
-
Someone suggested that it wasn't a proper UCS set, and if it's to scale to R2D2 from a few years back as the Italian site suggests it would be relatively small. Maybe it's taking up one of the regular set slots?
-
If you make an account you can see what the link says. I think what @dario76 was pointing out was the following (translated from Italian). Originally posted by "Hika87": Confirmations of BB8? Unfortunately. Model by about 20 cm, the head moves, one side opens and brings out the arm that we saw in the film. Basically it is to scale with the old R2-D2. Sore point, beyond its mere existence? It's ugly. SO bad. The appearance is that of the old UCS busts (Maul and Yoda), Curved Slope nothing to improve the situation. But there are also positive news GROSSE. Back to the At-At, very similar to the above (we should avoid us, then, Rogue One and Ep 7/8, in theory). Hoth will have a dignity hair, perhaps? We'll see. The Destroyer was talking about, long about 60 cm ... admit it, you are thinking the Imperial Star Destroyer, eh? But no! New set! A Super Star Destroyer, 60 cm, with opening "fan" similar to the old Imperial. It will not be the UCS, but they can do a good job. Next, a C-shaped spacecraft, blue / blue and white. It should not be a jewelry box 2.0, but did not remember the set in question, then boh. I guess this is the Ep 8. And ... just. There was more, but nothing as memorable as remember, unfortunately. Edit: what's interesting is that this was originally posted on the 9th of March, over a week ago and before we knew about it.

How long does a bricklink order usually take?
Brikkyy13 replied to Brikkyy13's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If it says shipped already you'll need to check with the seller to see what postal service they used. -
Wait a minute, why is UCS BB-8 confirmed all of a sudden? Where's the source? All I can find is the several pages of this thread rambling about it because someone took a wild guess and suggested it.
-
What's this "amazing book" about? Also, I take it that people are going to go ahead and assume that the inclusion of a Falcon poster = UCS set confirmed? Because why else would they include a poster of the best selling set and most iconic ship?!? /s

Bought 75172 Y-Wing off of gumtree still sealed for the unbelievable price of $75. As I have the one from 2007, I can say it's an amazing improvement, however I am not a fan of the massive stickers and much prefer the brick-built engines on the previous model.

What would be considered a "large" LEGO collection?
Brikkyy13 replied to Brikkyy13's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Considering the fact that most sets have more pieces than that, you could have a larger than average collection with only one set.- 31 replies

I hadn't considered this, but I think we won't be getting a January wave in favour of a February wave consisting primarily of Han Solo sets, probably with some battle packs and a couple Ep 8 sets. But I also think we could be seeing a small wave of regular sets in September 2018 to make up for it.

What would be considered a "large" LEGO collection?
Brikkyy13 replied to Brikkyy13's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That assumes I have fairly large sets, when I don't. I only have maybe 20 sets with over 1000 pieces. Also, I have a few CMFs as well and brickset considers those sets (I do too but I know some people wouldn't). Thanks everyone for your input. Seems like the consensus is it depends on on what you're comparing it too. I'd say just in general to other people. What I'm gathering is maybe less than 100 sets is small, 100-500 is average and 500 and above is large?- 31 replies

I'm not. I don't have Dengar yet so this will be a fast purchase for me If this is referring to the Death Star, I'm pretty sure the only people disappointed with it are the AFOLs. Remember that we're not the target market for LEGO, and the AFOL community alone cannot support LEGO. It was a proven seller the way it was so there was no need to improve it beyond what they did.

Here we go with pointing out Falcons on boxes again, even though the Falcon was in both those scenes... Guys! There's a Millennium Falcon on the advent calendar! UCS Falcon confirmed!
-
That was $60 here, which I thought was way too much. In my opinion I find that usually it goes smaller set = less value. I caved the other day and bought Duel on Naboo and Yoda's starfighter at full retail price of $45 each. Definitely not worth it. I can barely cope with the prices here, I can't imagine how you New Zealanders feel.

+1 to this. At first I did not like the redesign of the stormtrooper helmet but having gotten one in the Slave I and now two in the Rogue One battle pack I really like them. If I can get a good deal on the battle pack again I'll be getting another one.

Brickpicker might be a good tool to use to calculate value.

Haha, it's $80 here in Aus and even if it was on sale for $70 I'd still refuse to pay that much. I wouldn't buy it for more than $50.

I was more referring to the fact that the guy only had something like 20 posts when he started claiming he'd seen the sets, and it started right as toy fair did. No one else from toy fair said they'd seen the sets, only this guy.
-
Some guy comes out of nowhere claiming to have seen Episode 8 sets with nothing to back him up, everyone is gullible enough to believe him. People who don't fall for it stay quiet for too long.

This forceghostsolo guy only has like 60 posts, and almost all of them are in this thread. He just came out of nowhere and claimed to have seen TLJ sets with nothing to back him up. Sorry to those who were gullible enough to fall for it, but it's your own fault.
