    RES-Q sets reimagined

I am done! Here are the last ones. The whole album can be seen here. I also updated the first post. 6462: Aerial Recovery Loved this set as a kid. Was the boat and the trike in the original set rescue equipment or did those belong to the diver? I chose rescue equipment for my version. I like how the helicopter turned out and that I even could use the new "porsche bow". 1069: Speedboat The only civilian set. I only did it to complete the series :)

    RES-Q sets reimagined

The 1998 Res-Q theme was one of my favorite line of sets growing up. Just for fun I decided to rebuild the sets digitally and imagine how they would look nowadays. I startet with the four smaller sets. What do you think? Would you like to see more sets? Do you think it would be realistic for TLG to recreate a theme like RES-Q nowadays? Your feedback and ideas are always welcome. Edit: I completed the series. The album can be found here. 6451: Res-Q Jet-Ski The smallest set of the line. I didn't put too much work into this and just redid 30567: Police Water Scooter in RES-Q colors. 1069: Speedboat The only civilian set. I only did it to complete the series :) 2962: Res-Q Lifeguard I changed the windscreen and turned this into a proper "baywatch" vehicle 6431: Road Rescue The 1998 version was too simple in my opinion. I added an enclosed body to the SUV so all the tools could be transported. The SUV seats two minifigs. 6445: Emergency Evac I had so much fun with this set playing with the rope and the ambulance. I tried to keep the beefy looking off-road truck look and the possibility to load a stretcher in the back as well es the little trailer. 6451: River Response I changed the little vehicle a lot. Now it's an atv seating two minifigs. I kept the shape of the boat but added a proper cabin. 6462: Aerial Recovery Loved this set as a kid. Was the boat and the trike in the original set rescue equipment or did those belong to the diver? I chose rescue equipment for my version. I like how the helicopter turned out and that I even could use the new "porsche bow". 6473: Res-Q Cruiser With the telehandler I went with a more realistic approach. A lot of fire departments and disaster management agencies use them with different attachments. 6479: Emergency Response Center I think the new road plates work great for the pier. For the tow truck I built 4 or 5 different versions. But now I am quite happy how it turned out.

    RES-Q sets reimagined

Thank you all so much for the great feedback. It took some time but I finally got around to do the HQ. 6479: Emergency Response Center I think the new road plates work great for the pier. For the tow truck I built 4 or 5 different versions. But now I am quite happy how it turned out.

    RES-Q sets reimagined

Thank you, Klaus-Dieter. Yes I am currently working on the HQ...but it's work in progress.
  7. Some pics of my almost square modular city. The layout consists of a lot of SNOT road and nine 32x32 plates. All modulars are placed on baseplates with plates under the modular baseplate. Sorry for my bad photoshopping skills. Most vehicles are mods or Mocs.
  8. **EDIT: New images here ** This is my entry for the LDD/LDraw Contest 2014 free build category. Since I always dreamed of traveling the world in something like this I created a LEGO version: the roof can be lifted while the truck is parking. The truck carries a motorbike on the back. The roof is walkable and can be used as a terrace =) Of course it has a comfortable interiour. The truck has two bedrooms (one in the roof). In case of a zombie apocalypse it has some flick fire missiles hidden behind the front bumper ;-). Here is the LDD File. Best regards marv
  9. Yes I was thinking about it. Especially in the "road works" area. The hole thing is pretty much a WIP at the moment. I was also thinking about some elevation for some parts of the road/buildings. I made some better pictures of the vehicles

    10278 Police Station

I think "PP" for Police Precinct or "PD" for Police Department / Police & Donut Shop would be good ideas :D. I like this modular very much. When I first saw the front I was kind of hoping for a garage / parking spot for a police vehicle in the back.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I like the new modular very much. Just a few more decorations on the back would have bee nice. This does not look like an "expert" building to me:

    Varuna Amphibious ATV

Love the shape of the cabin and the combination of Sci-Fi looks and Lego Technic functions Why did you steer the middle axle? Would the vehicle not run smoother with 2 steered axles (front and back)?
  13. 60240 Kayak Adventure - Theme: City LXF File (LDD 4.3.11) Errors: 6207258: Fender, Front, No.1 missing, replaced with brick built version 6231925: Mini Clothing, No. 9 missing, replaced Some decals are not correct - Stickers are missing
  14. when I look at LEGO City buildings like this one or these buildings I always think: Why can't these buildings form a true city? How can you put them together? Why is there no possibility to close the buildings up? I put some thought into this...and my answer is: the small modular building standard: the standard elements are: small modular half building small modular sidewalk small modular half building with sidewalk small modular garden element they can be combined easily: two small modular half buildings with sidewalk form a 16 wide modular building one small modular sidewalk and one small modular half building form a small modular half building with sidewalk one small modular sidewalk, two small modular half buildings and a small modular garden element form a 16 wide modular building modular half buildings with or without sidewalk can be put together in a row here a some examples for small modular sidewalk elements They could be parts of sets like this , this or other "car(s) and a bit of scenery" sets here a some examples for small modular half buildings derived from official sets by buying two sets you could get beautiful closed up houses for your city here is a small modular half building with sidewalk (60008: Museum Break-in) and also a MOC you could combine different small modular half buildings they look beautiful with modular buildings or as a row what do you guys think about this idea? Would this be a possibility for future city sets? Why not? regards marv

    Small Modular Building Standard

Maybe ... when I was a kid I loved everything that could be combined or put together in different ways. I spent hours just combining the interchangeable modules of technic sets https://brickset.com/sets/8252-1/Beach-Buster , https://brickset.com/sets/8253-1/Fire-Helicopter and https://brickset.com/sets/8255-1/Rescue-Bike I also look forward to see these new sets. I liked 31605 Park Street Townhouse so much. Thank you all for your comments. Since TLG buildings often are fire or police stations I also tried to "modularize" them: Here is a row of small modular official sets together. and a MOC
  16. I got 42084: Hook Loader for christmas and created a little C-Model: Here is a video ... the functions are tipping the bed and hog steering. I think it turned out quite nice. What do you think?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I would love a 16 x 32 police department with 16 x 32 crooks hideout. With proper buildings it would be the perfect homage to the city sets :-) Jokes aside ... I think a garage is an interesting opportunity. An old tow truck would be the perfect fit

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I found some on Lego Ideas...
  19. I love the Ultra Agents and their futuristic vehicles. This is my approach on a small SUV - sized vehicle: In the back there is room to transport P.U.P , a prisoner or an injured agent. And of course the vehicle has a transformation feature... I hope you like it ;). Now I only need a proper villain for this "set". Kind regards marv

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I have to say I like the set and even think the car is not so bad. Are double-sided heads still a possibility?
  22. Wayne manor sounds exciting. Do you think it will include a batcave? I hope it will look a bit like this: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/0791b5c4-fb8b-4326-8a56-397979de70a3
  23. When I saw the picutres of 70917 The Ultimate Batmobile I was instantly in love with the overall design and the splitting function...but also I thought "the ultimate batmobile" was way to big. So I created my own version... Decently sized ultimate batmobile Decently sized ultimate batmobile Decently sized ultimate batmobile Regards marv
  24. "The Batmobile divides into four different vehicles — the Batmobile, Batwing, Bat-Tank and Batcycle" (marketwatch.com) I wonder what this Bat-Tank looks like ... the Batcycyle is probably pretty small. I think the ultimate batmobile looks awesome by the way :)

2017 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I am really looking forward to see the coastguard sets. Do you think TLG will keep the same color scheme (white / orange / blue) ? I alwalys liked it. 60165 - Rescue Vehicle 4x4 (€ 32.99) will probably be something like 60152-1 Sweeper-Excavator an Unimog like short 4x4 truck with trailer and rescue boat and 2-3 minifigs.
