    75098 Assault on Hoth

The usual 20% Discount on LEGO isn't enough for me with this set... at 50% off I'll sure cave and bring one home, just for the collecting purpose... (At least, that's what I'll tell the wive..)

[MOC] LEGO STAR WARS - A NEW HOPE

Awesome... Theres so much detail. Really a great looking piece!
  5. Incredible work! Awesome and inspiring... Cant wait to see those instructions... Even if I probably won't ever build it in real live I'm just too curious how you achieved this glorious looking model.

Review Review: ALIEN Project book by Arvo Brothers

Only 236 parts to go... already got the Dino-tails and Fezes ordered... too bad, I can't seem to find the black round windshields and the longer version of the tubes/hoses anywhere...

    MOD 75111

With the constraction figures imho it really comes down to how you pose the figure... I like the changes done here, very subtle but quite improving. But I also don't think the originals are that bad... Just built a second Vader this evening for my son, and it even just looks great as it is out of the box.

Review Review: ALIEN Project book by Arvo Brothers

I just put in order for the book... Looks really fantastic, even just for this beautiful book... I'll decide later if I'm going to build the model, if prices on the parts are too crazy.
  10. I wanted to mod the 8087 Defender for quite a long time now! The ship is one of my favorite imperial ships (besides the glorious Tie-Bomber). So I went ahead and build on the base LEGO set for this model... I didn't want to open up my 75082, I had in stock for modding a TIE (perhaps I can tackle that Vaders TIE Advanced project now...) but use most of the parts from the original set just modding it in every direction possible... First I took the wings and made them longer and sturdier, no more flick-fire missiles, but different kinds of cannons all over the place. I lost the turning-action and beefed up the engine-section and pylons to get more stability, finally I went over the cockpit making it sleeker and more like an "attached bubble" to the engine section. I think it didn't went all bad there... what do you think?

    Yet Another Death Star Room

Absolutely fantastic... As I build my first home cinema myself some years ago I could certainly appreciate all the details you put into this... Looks really great! What kind of audio/video equipment are you using?

    75098 Assault on Hoth

The set is missing at least one system scaled AT-ST and the Bacta-tank to be a great playset... I'm loving the package design, but the set itself feels inconsistent and lazy... it's a no-buy for me, even at 20% discount its still not good enough. I'm holding my hopes up for the UCS Snowspeeder, though.

    (8087) TIE/d Defender - Modded

After receiving the first new parts from Bricklink I started again on friday. Soon realizing, that some proportions didn't really add up - so I redid the whole thing at saturday, really starting from scratch... I expanded the outer wings by one stud each, slimmed down the pylons as much as possible and added other details around the ship (but doing so even lowering the total piece count, which is always a good thing!) Here it is again... the TIE/d Defender: Here you can see the modular built of the ship... it can be easily pulled apart for transport or storage. Some details of the different parts:

    [MOC][SHIPtember] CR90 Corvette Tantive IV

[MOC] Rebel Alliance T-4A Support Tank

Very nice! A perfect little build, that would do LEGO proud as an official set. I also love the cool resistance troops riding along. Well done!

[MOC] Rebel Alliance T-2B Repulsor Tank

I kind of like the colorsceme for the vehicle... orange and dbg is nice, but with tan and lbg it is getting a little wild... Looks like urban warfare all over. There are lots of angles and shapes to the thing that you replicated perfectly! Perhaps a version in tan/grey would be more easy on the eye.

    (MOC) Hangar Bay 327

After bricklinking my UCS Millenium Falcon last year I was really hooked... to LEGO Star Wars, to UCS-Sets and after reading on and about here in the forum at last to MOC-ing... As I went on and thought about placing the MF into a nice setting of course I stumbled on this excellent work here: http://hudecity.de/?p=2464 ... and again was hooked... this was a really great creation and such a wonderful setting to present the MF properly! I showed it to my wife, who said I was crazy, but thats nothing new to me... so I started collecting parts since the beginning of the year. I found this excellent rebrickable site: http://rebrickable.c...-for-ucs-falcon And downloaded the parts-list and instructions... some very hefty piece-counts are in there... almost 3000 black tiles, over 300 6x2 bricks in DBG... CRAZY!! After half a year I had about everything ready to go now, but this week I finally got a little free time, so I started the project! I went to the hardware store to get a nice baceplate for everything... (117x91cm in total) 18mm strong multiplex wood should be strong enough not to bend under the weight of about 13.000 LEGO bricks...(Hangar + Falcon) As you might see, I did not cut the big gray baseplates in half as with the original rebrickable instructions... I just inserted another small green plate to the middle so elongating the hangar to make even more room for the Falcon... this brought several problems I'm facing right now, but more about that later... I had everything neatly bagged and tagged... Starting of with the first lines of tiles: After a few hours I already had half an Energy shielded doorway... This is where the fun began... the backwall was really delighting to build with lots of great techniques and clever designs After another few hours my son could just barely look over the wall... This is what I got yesterday evening: The wall is now almost finished... but due to the longer baseplate array I wasn't able to close the walls or finish the control building entirely... I had to heavily imrovise elongating the backwall and so I finally ran out of bricks... even if I got about 350 6x2 and 330 4x2, they are all gone now... I'll need to BL some other bricks soon, to get the missing parts done. I decided to finish other stuff around the hangar and start tiling the floor today... just to get a better oversight what I am missing right now... And here's what I have right now... I still got a good bag of black tiles so they should close most of the gaps on the plates... Well, thats all for today... hope you like it as much as I do... (even my wife said, it looks "most impressive!") I'll keep posting as I advance further with my own personal Hangar Bay 327.

    (MOC) Hangar Bay 327

Thank you! Right now I'm toying with the idea of adding a right-hand wall to the scene, perhaps even a control room over the area where Vader and Obi Wan have their duel... Also as the scene is starting to collect some dust I think about getting it behind acrylic glass... But the scene is so big, that there are only few manufacturers to do something like that... And it comes with a price! Perhaps I have to that on my own.

I've Lost My Mind - Lego Artoo on Ideas

Great display piece... Supported! I'd buy one or source one for myself to pimp out my star wars room...

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I found the Sandcrawler was the more challenging building experience with a great vehicle, It has fantastic play features and nifty figures come with it... as a playset it is up there with the Death Star and the Ewok Village but looked upon it just seems like a rusty brown box with some threads under it... the Slave 1 on the other hands just looks so great with those really odd shapes of the ship realized with LEGO. Imho both sets are well worth the price tag (paid full price for the Slave 1 as I ordered it on the first day it was out! - got the Sandcrawler with 20% off, so it "felt" a little cheaper there...) Personally I'd go for the Slave 1 first... It's bound to become a very collectible set and a sought after item in the future.

Bricklinking the 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon :-)

Man, seeing all those rare and expensive parts up close make me shiver with anticipation... I avoided all of them at my build (except the 6.6 bars, which just look very nice in the greebling and at the cockpit)

    [MOC] BTL 8 "Super Y"

Great work! I loved the thoughts you brought to the table with this MOC... Looks and sounds like just the right ship that could make its debut in Episode 8 or 9... My only critique (if any!) is the joint between the wings and the engine modules looks a bit "flimsy"... Perhaps you might strengthen that a little?

Shadows of the Empire - Great potential?

I still got all of the Hasbro toys from this period... It was hyped extremely with 2-figure battlepacks featuring comic books... Some specially carded figures and new feature-packed vehicles (The Outrider and Slave 1) I loved the fight between Vader and Xizor... For me one of the best moments in the EU. I' love to have LEGO sets of this too, but I think this time has passed...
  25. I caved and opened up my recently bought 10212 yesterday... finished it today and gave it a new home... Definitely the single most impressive UCS and well worth the price tag (now and then)...
