Yet Onua uses 2 different sizes of bones in trans purple that look far more similar to each other than they do to the grey bone, the only difference being a single pin hole, so why not color code those? The ends of the bones are completely different and I'm baffled that someone could possibly mess that up. Clearer instructions should be the fix, not crazy color-coding. Set instructions have scales for beam pieces so someone can place it on the picture to know which they are supposed to use and I like that system far better. That same 1:1 scaling could be better utilized for bone pieces as well. Color coding, although helpful I suppose, is still visually distracting and often makes sets look cheap and low quality IMO. Never in my life-long experience building with LEGO have I ever put a piece on wrong in a set.

That image of Onua and Terak is incredible! I CANNOT wait to get them. HOWEVER I am baffled and VERY disappointed that the crystal piece is not trans purple. The gold waaay overpowers the clear to the point that it might as well have been solid gold. It also detracts from an otherwise perfectly balanced color scheme. It looks more like ice, something Kopaka would have. From a story perspective, every image and description of Onu-Koto(that's what I'm callign the region of earth) have purple crystals EVERYWHERE the ONLY example of crystalline structures in G2 up to this point! Is that why they made the change!? I really wish they hadn't those pieces look awful and cheap as a result.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
ToaDraco replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
.i really like the figs in both sets. The sub is cool but the jet is terrible. I like my vehicles sleek and high tech-looking. That jet looks like sets that were designed in the 90's. It just doesn't appeal to me at all. I do like Thanos' rocket boots, it's a neat idea although I would have much rather had the Infinity Gauntlet of course. -
I for one will be getting the whole wave per usual since I'm a completionist. I also love this wave. On a side note, does anyone know what Kopaka is doing in his Unity pose? If Melum had wings it would make sense but it just looks like he's tripping over something... or falling... with style.

It is odd and disappointing that Kopaka and Melum does not include a trap. I agree that Melum is not entirely equal to the other creatures as he does not appear to have as many parts, nor is he as big as the others due to his use of smaller limb pieces.

I will definitely be getting Battle of Takadona for obvious reasons and I really like the troop transport too, especially since it appears to be the latest version of the B-Wing and it comes with General Leia and what could be Admiral Ackbar or just a random Mon Cal.

I didn't even notice the asymmetry in Onua's upper arms. That's pretty frustrating but I can see why they did it, to increase the stability and allow him to hold the hammer up, question is why didn't they just use that joint piece in trans purple when he used that piece in trans purple this year? I'll definitely be replacing it with one.

These are the pictures we've been waiting for, so in-depth and HD. Once again, Umarak's mask is GLORIOUS and Onua looks fantastic.

Oh wow, talk about a derailed forum, sheesh. BACK ON SUBJECT, yes it appears Onua also has a disk to hold extra ammo like Umarak has and I like that they've decided to do this because on the protectors, I just resorted to attaching the extra studs to the sides of their feet. One would assume Akida has them as well but I haven't been able to tell by the pictures. Also, I'm loving the sets more and more, especially Onua although I am bothered by his runes only being over his right eye. It completely throws off an otherwise symmetrical scheme. It affects my OCD to a degree.

The gold masks clashing with the silver creature heads really is counter-productive to the whole 'unification' thing. I also really like Gali having orange in her color scheme, it offers a nice contrast. I am also glad she will have trans dark blue. It definitely works a lot better as her elemental color otherwise she and Kopaka would be sharing the same shade of trans blue like this year. I don't think the Pohatu/Ketar combination is going to look very good. the blades are just going to be sticking out and Ketar's function isn't really going to work well. Gali's combiner will work much better I think. Having Gatling guns on her shoulders and a shark tail will look very cool.

Am I the only one who really likes Kopaka's shoulders? I like the technic with the Vorox armor. I think the sets overall look great, the one that I find most lackluster is Gali with her odd looking unnecessary asymmetry.

Every one of the sets look even better than before and I'm especially happy Onua has a black torso. The biggest disappointment for me is the MoC. The prelim one was far superior even if it was very elephant-like. Also it's a bit odd Kopaka only has 2 gold pieces, throwing off his color scheme. I guess Tahu decided to hog all of the gold armor to himself because he just has to feel superior to Kopaka. You know, it makes a lot of sense that G2 Tahu would be gold plated given his ego. He seriously has way too much gold. IGN's review of Tahu Uniter of Fire: 9/10 -too much gold. EDIT: It appears that Onua has armor plates on the sides of his torso under his arms. It appears to be the same piece used on Kopaka's blaster to beef out his torso a bit. It was jus hard to see on the prelims due to the bad angle highlighting the gaps. Also, Lewa looks awesome, easily my second favorite of the new Toa, then followed by Kopaka, Onua being the first of course. The MoC looks a lot better on Umarak's package than it does up in the corner of the logo. It isn't bad but that logo image makes it look horrible Umarak's mask looks awesome and I'm very glad it's black and trans apple green. It is SO going to be used on my self-moc.

There are no words to say how incredible this is.

As someone who is obsessed with black and green, I really like Umarak's new color scheme and he looks even better than the prelims. His mask isn't as dear-skull like as I expected but it still looks cool. Tahu looks good, if not way too gold. I really like how the shoulder armor and torso armor look together in the small image of pre-united Tahu. I'm still not a fan of Tahu's swords even though it is neat that they added a stabbing function to them. The trap pieces are larger than I thought they would be and they look great as shoulder armor. I also like the runes on the sides of Ikir's head. I can't wait to see better pics of Onua and the other Toa united with their creatures.

I like the waist swivel function as long as it has good friction and hey, waist articulation! I really like that they are playing with different functions and I like that the designers gave the creatures functions when they didn't really need to for the size of the sets but they are all the better for it.

I want it to feel more like the Miramax Bionicle films. They felt epic and had the right balance of humor and serious moments, not to mention a fantastic soundtrack. Great fight scenes, dialogue and soundtrack are key to having a great series for me. It would also be nice if the story was expanded on a little more but we have no idea how long the episodes will be. I'm hoping they will be comparable to the Hero Factory videos at the very least.
-
I don't think they connect, I think they just sit on top of the Toa's heads.

I like that idea and I think it could work.

Upon close inspection, I'm pretty sure Onua still has a gold torso that just has a shadow effect from the way he is hunched over, as much as I would like him to have a black torso instead, I'm afraid people are just setting themselves up for disappointment. Same thing with Lewa's color, it's probably the same color but looks different because of shadow and cg effects. Onua's upper legs are different and have the piston add-on attached to more trans-purple shells. I do like the changes to Gali but she is still the weakest Toa by far. I do like the orange and how the 'propeller' on her staff is a brick-built spinning blade as opposed to a system submarine propeller. It still looks rather odd and impractical though and I don't think the asymmetrical armor on her shoulders and thighs work. The should have just put both orange Vorox pieces on her shoulders and the elemental crystal armor on the thighs. Although I suppose that would make her look too similar to Pohatu and Gali. I think I prefer Kopaka with silver blades instead of gold and the MoCo is still the same one from Umarak's image so I'm happy about that. That mask looks very finalized and pretty sweet. The inclusion of the island of Mata Nui on the poster is interesting, but certainly indicates what we are looking at is still preliminary so until we get official white backdrop pictures, these designs are still subject to change slightly.

I'm not a fan of the MoCo on the poster, I like the one in Umarak's picture. That one looks more finalized too, although I'm not a fan of the beard thing on it. The horns are way to small on this one and the shape of them doesn't work very well. Also the chin is too square.

I really like how Onua looks and the more I look at him the more I like him, especially his mask. At first it was off-putting but it is very reminiscent of the movie version of Toa Whenua's mask which I think is cool. I just really like it and it even has a few subtle nods to the Pakri Nuva with the square vents on the side and the almost-spikes along the top of his mask. I also like that the silver goes around the mask as opposed to just being on the top like the rest of the Toa, it looks better that way imo, at least for his mask.I think that look could have worked on Pohatu too but he'd be the only other one. On a side note, I just got Grievous and oh my yes, he is large and in charge. Although Umarak won't be that big, he still looks like he will be bigger than Kulta so that might be a good sign of the potential for a Grievous-sized character. Perhaps Umarak the Destroyer will be more comparable in size.

I'm hoping these episodes will be well animated and more fleshed out with some cool action scenes. I also hope it will be more epic and less silly. The ones we have now are ok but they are way too goofy. The original Bionicle had lighter funny moments but it felt more like a serious epic for the most part. There just needs to be a better balance.
-
This theme gives me a very He-Man vibe and I love it. I especially like Axel and his bulky look, cool helmet and wicked axe, he even has a similar color scheme to Onua.
-
I'm sad that there are only 4 episodes planned so far but it makes no mention of how long they will be so hopefully they are hour long episodes or something. I'm glad the animation will be 3d although based on that image I'm a bit disappointed that it won't be more like the Hero Factory animations that alter the sets slightly and give them mouths and fingers and such to better show emotion and personality so that they feel like characters and not puppets. The cell shaded look is ok though and it actually reminds me of the animations in 2005 and 2006, if that is an accurate representation of what we will be getting. I'm mostly disappointed by how they chose to position Tahu's shoulder armor, it just looks... bad. Otherwise it looks nice. I'm guessing the first episode will be a recap of the 2015 story that leads into the 2016 story and will be when the Toa get their new armor and weapons from Ekimu, presumably.
-
I will absolutely get all of them as a completionist and because they all look amazing to me. They even fixed my issues with Pohatu's mask. Gali is a tad disappointing but I really like how her mask looks like Nokama's. Onua and Terak will be my first buys though, I'm always a sucker for the Earth tribe and they look pretty awesome to boot. I still wish he was bulkier than the other Toa like his previous incarnation and I think the ribcage shoulder armor will look better in person. I'd really like to see those pieces used as leg armor at some point similar to Tahu's 2015 'bell-bottoms'. Maybe G2 Makuta will use them in black in this manner.
