    LEGO Pirate Photography

Nice, although it looks like he's climbing limestone and sandstone, not so much on the volcanic front... :-p
  2. I only have one really broken lego piece so far but, I have not thrown it away... I was thinking of practising my painting skills on it, so I might end up with the first cracked blue 2x8 Zombie brick :-) Otherwise its still okay if its inside a structure
  3. My other half started to do that with the Zombie pirate captain and some skeletons when I wasn't looking, I have not taken it apart yet... and I considering making some improvements. I don't mind though because after visiting a toy fair, I got bought small hull and stern pieces, two cannons (came with a free middle section of the boat), some mast sections and ladders, some old (slightly dirty) sails, the 1989 Pirate captain(I don't think I had him before), some vintage pirates and treasure chest (with gold coins), some vintage blue coats and Governor Broadside (wrong hat but I actually have a spare somewhere)... I will let more people play with my lego if they did the same thing afterwards!

Lego Minifigures Series 15 Guessing Game

I just assumed that most people buying were children/parents and that they would be unlikely to be bag feelers... (Although I have trained my mum now and she is not too bad). If Lego wanted to be really evil they could, instead of creating a special one off character like Mr Gold, have an entire series with all of the minifigures available in gold, but only a 1000 of each worldwide. So one or two characters the same would not be the end of the world IMO. Or Lego could switch to boxes and then we would either have to get really good at shaking to tell the parts or carry around a set micro scales... Some times I just feel like a change so I would mind if they changed the format every now and again it would keep me interested. Or if I did stop buying (like for Simpsons series) at least I would be doubly excited when the return to the ordinary format.
  5. I guess if she does carry the baby behind she would also need the a different hairpiece, or is there a suitable one out there?
  6. There is a limit to how many of the Micky and crew characters I would want (all in one series) so I would be disappointed if they were filling all the slots. I would hope for a few people more people characters as well, and a few villains. Ursula and Captain Hook would be my choice along side Peter Pan and Ariel... (I know we have her in minidoll but I prefer MF, she is the only mini doll I own and I felt a bit dirty buying her...)

[MOC] Mystery of the Haunted Mansion

Wow really cool, I especially like the broken wall at the back, that's really well done. And the overall appearance is just cool! :-)

Lego Minifigures Series 15 Guessing Game

Well they are supposed to be blind bags, so I can see why they might be tempted to do it... And give the cooler MF a lower distribution than the less cool one just to keep us all buying... But I would like it better if they did it and made it the selling point... Like MF double acts, with 8 pairs of MF in a series (but only a couple of pairs made with identical parts, not all of them). That way it's kind of acknowledging that they've made it harder to collect... Or something
  9. So I would like to join the might warriors of Avalonia (a little late in the day, I know, but better late than never), so here I present my Character and her backstory... hope I have done evrything by the book, but if not please let me know! Lilliana Avdalen of the Mystic Isles pledges herself to fight for Avalonia. She is pictured here with her little brother Timmy and the banner of her parents’ house. HailToAvalonia, on Flickr Lilliana, or Lily to her friends, is an unassuming, even-tempered girl, determined to do what’s right and slow to anger. But her past does not reflect her seemingly sunny nature, she was orphaned, losing her parents who died in battle many years ago, fighting for Avalonia. Her parents were nobility, but since their deaths she has turned away from her duties as their eldest daughter and traveled Avalonia, never staying in one place for long. During this period she has been the guardian for her brother, more than 10 years her junior, and has strived to give him the best education. Accomplished with a sword and a bow, she has passed on this knowledge to her brother, who is completely devoted to Avalonia and hopes one day to become a knight himself and bring more glory to the kingdom. In pledging herself to Avalonia she flies her parents banner and will one day return to her homeland and rebuild the ruins of her parent’s stronghold. The waters of the mystic Isles runs in her veins and call her back, but first she will travel to the Capital and hopes to carve a living out within the city walls.

    hello from hong kong

Hi Barton, Welcome to Eurobricks. I am always on the look for second hand Lego here in Norway.I would say in general, Norway is not the best place to look for cheap stuff. But check out Finn.no (the Norwegian version of Craigslist etc) and maybe you can buy and collect some kids Lego collection cheaply as you pass through an area, or you can look in Fretex shops while in Norway. I have not seen too much, but the other day I found set fire station 60003 for 59nok, without minifigures, but the 2nd and 3rd bags were not even opened, so you never know. Good luck with your Lego hunting!
  13. A lot of my cheese slopes are cracked, and many from new sets bought this year, it did not occur to me to get replacements...

    Combining 2 70413 Brick Bounty

Well I will do the same when I find a second one on sail (hmmm I mean sale, only just caught that typo, but I thought I would leave it in!)... in term of advice... I advise putting "brick bounty" into the search function of the Pirate MOC forum, and then you get a list of all the other MODed Brick Bountys... But if you type "Brickbounty" all one word you get this one... which looks quite cool and the photos make it easy to replicate.

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

Hi, I need help with identifying this minifigure head WhichHead, on Flickr The reason I ask is because I was looking for heads to use, found this one in my spares box and the fit on the torso feels incredibly loose, leading me to think he might not be real lego... so i just wondered. He came with Captain Jack hat and hair and a Ninjago torso and legs, so definitely a mixed up minifig.... Okay Nevermind I realised I had a duplicate head from this set http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/30013_Police_Quad_Bike?file=30013-1.jpg So I think it's safe to assume he is Lego too (I'll just pop some nail varnish on the inside of his head to fix the looseness, now I just have to find nail varnish).
  16. I bought myself the 2009 pirates one for this year, pretty excited, until I noticed the Kingdoms Calendar had a piggy in it but I can't have another one... (I mean I will probably pick up this year's city calendar too). It kinda depends what you like?
  17. Cool designs, I would love to see the masquerade ball figure, the guy with the golden chicken staff and the evil genie :-) well any of those we haven't already had!

    Doctor Who Wishlists

The Clerics: Church guys with guns... might not be very lego... but crumbly Angels would be cool I had not thought of it being a separate piece... that could be interesting, might be a bit big though.
  19. I would want him to have fins, because if you really wanted a figure without fins you can always swap to arms (with grey, white, yellow or blue hands depending on your look or the shark suit) the but you can't go the other way. But without arms might limit its use as an army builder? I mean if it can't hold anything all it can do is grin and flap at the other minifigures...

    MOC Spooky House

Oh I use my camera phone too at the moment (I dropped my proper camera on holiday and now it just makes buzzing noises), I only mentioned it because I have been playing around with taking photos myself to try and get better results, but I know for myself that I have a lot to learn!

    MOC The Knight Museum

Well this is a cool museum (I came across it after looking at your spooky house). It is exactly the kind of build I was intending to make with my other half, who used to work in a geology museum. As an MOC its awesome and I really liked all the details, if I could offer some advice on the Lego ideas front (or maybe even just add a note to think about is) is to reduce the number of minifigures in the build itself and replace with some brick built exhibits (I think you have like 30 plus in there, which will probably never happen, but I am not an expert, actually decided to google it, apparently there was a set with 80 fabuland figures in, but it probably was not for sale). Anyway if it were me presenting a project for Lego ideas I would probably drop the Scooby Doo part seeing as you don't seem to make that much of it in your project description anyway. Then I would try and declutter the interior a little by reducing the minifigures (and keeping the ones you include all yellow, no fleshies). Where a minifgure was an exhibit maybe just use its key accessory, like the Indian headdress for example. I would try and add some tiles to be the display captions as well, to give it an added museum feel. But i like the way you pay homage to the different Lego themes, thats cool, and I would definitely include a little pirate theme in there too, maybe a bluecoat/redcoat soldier. Feel free to ignore my Ideas suggestions, as its a cool MOC anyway :-)

    MOC Spooky House

Wow loads of detail, really col, wanted to do something similar myself for halloween (I was tempted to buy the Scooby Doo mansion for this very reason), but on a smaller scale, now I know where to look for inspiration! I really like the look you have achieved from the front and I kinda like the little bloody bathroom scene. One small enhancement I would suggest, and I am in no way an expert, so I am not pretending I could do better on something so big, but some of your details are lost in the photographs because the lighting seems to be a bit off. Its too bright and casting too many shadows in places, could you find a different place to photograph to remove the glare you get and get multiple sources of light in to reduced the shadows? Either way its a cool build and I really like it, definitely a plus point for a themed Minifigure series is that they can all be used in one giant MOC like this :-)

    PTV 2015 Small: Tavern Brawl

Really great build, and fantastic use of space! I really like the chandelier (is that what you would call it in this case?), I'll be stealing that one day, I like the happy guy at the bar :-) although I kinda wonder why the barmaid is not more concerned... I guess this kinda thing is pretty common place in Tavern!

    Seasonal 2015

The gingerbread house is cool, could always get 2 and make it bigger I want to have two gingerbread men standing guard outside so I think i will make it slightly bigger for that and then leave it alone (this year)

    Astérix & Obélix (Updated 2018)

Instantly recognisable. I like the hog best, still trying to work out what you have used for his ears. Very cool!
