[REVIEW]: 70789 Onua: Master of Earth

I'm deffinitely giving him longer arms and legs. Like, the longest, maybe evne use those rubbery extenders if I have to. I'll deffinitely be adding HF torso armour parts for shin guards like Tahu. If you're gonna have a big guy, make him a BIG guy! I'm really excited to see the various mods people will do with these.

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

Boy am I with you. It seems incredibly small and incredibly petty to be bringing up hierarchy in Lego, as if it's not already 90% aimed at children regardless. It's all just toys, and trying to one-up yourself over others and put down their children's toys to make your specific subset of children's toys look better is incredibly asinine, but hilarious. Visualizing those people saying that is pretty damn entertaining.Like holy hell I feel like I should be well used to this sort of thing but I never am. I guess it's a good thing?

    [REVIEW]: 70783 Protector of Fire

Great review, but this is probably the weakest Protector. The arms are awful and the weapons are cheap. No thought looks like it was put into either. :(

[REVIEW]: 70784 Lewa: Master of Jungle

Great review. Lewa's probably one I'm going to mod most. I really don't ike the super long forearms and short biceps, and since I care nothing for his secondary mode, I'll be ditching that. I feel like the axe heads would be more effective as sword hilts, with the yellow axle connectors on top to then connect the swords to, making two large blades. Maybe even work in a way for them to become wings like his Nuva form? I dunno, I'm deffinitely excited to see what I can make. And while I like keetorange, I'm probably going to swap out it and most of the silver for lime green. Just too much silver for me. (unlike Gali, where her blues and silvers worked together, Lewa's silver, orange and green contrasts too much I think) I like the Miru. It doesn't resemble the old ones at all, but it's still a cool design. The plated face makes it look like a helmet with a retractable face mask, and the rounded shape and vents make it look aerodynamic.

[REVIEW]: 70785 Pohatu Master of Stone

Pohatu's deffinitely the most basic of the new toa. Wether that's a deal breaker or not, well, that's up in the air, but he's clearly the simplest. From armour placement to body design to colours to weapons, he's bare-bones. I still like him, because I like Pohatu, and I feel like mixing in parts from an extra Stone Protector could greatly enhance his build. Still really want to see those new Bionicle armour pieces as feet-additions.

[REVIEW] 70786 Gali: Master of Water

Excellent review! Gali may acually be my favourite of a the 2015 sets so far. I was going to customise her colour scheme, but I might not. It looks better here.

[REVIEW]: 70789 Onua: Master of Earth

I only wish the legs and arms were longer. The torso's REALLY wide for such short arms, but I still really like him.

[REVIEW]: 70787 Tahu: Master of Fire

Thanks for the excellent review! Tahu looks pretty awesome as-is, but yeah, I'll have to fish around my parts bin to delete the silver hands/feet and fill in the leg backs. I quite dig the high shouder pads. Just kinda different and cool, changes up the profile.

    The Big Bang Theory Discussion

I agree with Lind Whisperer, I feel as though the comedy the show uses is absolutely of the belittling variety. It's not 100% mean-spirited, but nearly every character who likes "geek" stuff (which is to say, primetime television's idea of geek stuff) is depicted as an introvert. It'd be one thing if there was a foil, a well-adjusted "normal" person still into "geek" stuff, but the show's message more often than not comes across as "if you like geek stuff, you're a weirdo." There's exceptions, as I believe every one of the main characters now has a girlfriend for instance, but that's more just the show's progression. I also believe, despite this statement, more credit is being given than is due. In reality, the show is simply a one-track joke of "get it, they're nerds!" And the implications seem more like unintentional side effects of this method. Still, the fact that the show by-and-large treats their "geek" hobbies as a negative thing frowned upon or mocked by "normal" people makes the idea of Big Bang Theory Lego sets ironic. The target audience of TBBT is the same audience that would more likely than not be... persuaded to mock the Lego collecting audience by the show, in my opinion.

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

I don't want Ekimu to be Takanuva solely because I want an actual Takanuva set in the future. I think Kopaka looks pretty dang good, and I'm glad to see every gearbox has slightly different workings, yet they all incorperate a friction mechanism. No floppy limbs!
  11. I just signed up here for a contest. BUT you silly sausages, I have lurked and followed EB for some time, just never joined. I promise to be a productive and helpful member, or failing that, just be quiet and leave everyone alone. I read the guidelines and all that stuff, some solid rules even a rebel ike myself can respect. lot of people start off by saying how much they love Lego. I like Lego, I love Bionicle. I love to MOC mianly. But holy crap did you see that Bob guy? His stuff is amazing. I don't do anything like that. I just put personal spins of stuff and make new versions of existing characters due to my limited parts bucket. And I take bad pictures of them. Oh yeah, I'm one of those guys. So yeah, hi, thanks for having me, don't hit me I'll be good. Oh, and also, when do I get to view my own profile?
  12. The way I read the guidelines, each submission is judged, so it's the better the MOC that counts. If you can make multiple MOCs without affecting their quality that'd be cool, but I'd focus on making the best MOC you can.

Or the really maverick could gold-chrome the masks themselves. There's many different ways to achieve chrome-finish, but it is tricky. (but hey it's not like the sets'll be hard to find?) Though the ones at NYCC had snazzy bases. One second thought, the REALLY REALLY maverick could concievably actually make a mould from the mask and melt down real gold for a perfect clone of the gold mask. ',:}D Do that, oh, six times and life is grand my friend.
