    New contests

Um... can't beleive no-one's suggested this in the last couple of days given the Fabuland-fest that's been going on ... What about a Fabuland-based contest ? Some people don't have Fabuland parts or figs, but these people could build in a Fabuland style and I would happily provide a couple of figs to the top 3 designs to populate thier buildings/vehicles with. Winners could then re-photograph thier MOCs with the figs when thier prizes arrive? Come on... you know you want to!

(8 to 10 years old) MOCs

Oops . Must be the wine. Shame to spoil the fun though - and the credit for being a child genius

    What did you buy today?

This week I got Police Station 7744 and Indy race to the treasure(?? too lazy to look up proper name and number) set in a sale at Myer.

(8 to 10 years old) MOCs

Wow - that's pretty good from an 8-10 yo. I recently saw some kids' Lego mocs from that age group and was... umm... disappointed (hope they never read this!). I then thought "maybe I have high expectations of an 8 yo?". You were obviously gifted anyway. I'm pretty sure I was making standard houses and vehicle designs at that age but experimenting with colours and landscaping in my town. Nothing like your creations. Well done

    Fabuland Goat's House

SirNadroj - I love it . It may be that I've had a glass of red, but please, take your pick of one or two of my fabuland maxifigs and I'll post it to you (qualifier: I'm not so inebriated to let you have the fox in hat though ). I am not joking. If you've forgotten, here's the link to the post with my Fabuland maxifigs photo. I really, really like your creation. Especially the buffet & hutch/china cabinet inside. Neato. PM me with your details if you want to take me up on this. Ditto to all previous congrats.

    Problems with sorting Lego?

Hmmm. Interesting - my BrickLink guy sorts some of his stuff like this. I think for MOC'ing I would be too undisciplined with keeping it neatly stacked like that. Once I broke a stack to get to a colour for example, I probably wouldn't put it back together again. Having said that I've no better system worked out either. I always sort by colour, and sometimes I also sort on plates vs bricks vs "special" parts. My interpretation changes day to day so my Lego sort is always only ever a "rough" guide.

    Ideas for new City sets

Hi! I haven't read the whole 18 pages on this topic so may be repeating some stuff :-$ . I agree with the bank idea *y* . I'd also like to see: 1) a school with child (timmy-size) figs 2) bus & bus station 3) taxi 4) hairdresser (with scissor accessories for the staff and a classic red and white barber's pole) 5) chemist/pharmacy/drugstore 6) fancy restaurant 7) clothing boutique 8) office building 9) nursing home/retirement townhouses wiht elderly minifigs (gery hair and wrinkled faces and nanna dresses! Walking frames, wheelchairs - oh the possibilities!) 10) a toy shop (else those Lego people would be total hypocrites!) That's my top 10 - for today anyway. :-D If TLC never make them then I'll continue to MOC them because they're just essentials in a town. That's not going to make me upset by any means :-P Rebecca

    Fabuland Elements and Figures

...but before you consider forgiving me I will add to the tease by casually letting you know that I have 3 MISB Nesquick bunnies still in thier bags (noticed your sigfig!). X-D

    Undead Gentlemen's Club

WTF X-O ? Was there a word you meant to leave out of that sentence or are these establishments something I'm missing out on?? :-D I think we'll soon find out if we push the limits some more :-P . But really, I'm guessing the idea is to keep it at that subtle inuendo level so the forums don't get trashy and scare off all the ladies :-) . Will someone with God status step in and confirm? I reckon they've got lots of places to tuck those $100 bills into too! Agreed, all agreed! ...except for the song quote bit. Only a EuroBrick nerd would quote something like that! :-P :-D Rebecca

    Fabuland Elements and Figures

Hi SirNadroj! :-) ...um, I just looked up the value of these and they're not worth enough to bother selling (with the exception of the Fox w\ hat - but then I kinda like him). The Fox's name is Freddy BTW - and I will refer to him as such from henceforth! Anyone would think he was a commodity or something :-| ;-)! But really, my son is enjoying them a lot right now so I think I'll leave them with him for while longer. *sweet* I'd have to sort through the other 130kg of Lego from that bulk lot to itemise the walls and roof pieces. I actually like the roof pieces to integrate into my system-scale town anyway. Vintage basic sets are :-X to me ;-) - I have a few already and can't MOC anything interesting with them! Sorry! :-) ...and so all in all, a total tease. Forgive me? :'-) :-$

    What did you buy today?

Yes - they might be hard to get :-( . They only came in that one set. Only 16 on bricklink and a bit pricey (someone's got 8 of them for $15ea). Maybe I'll make up my own out of coloured plate pieces or something. Bastard! ;-) Nice to know it wasn't a MISB 6990 that you dropped $1K on though. Good haul *y* . Rebecca

    Fabuland Elements and Figures

Hi SirNadroj. A bunch of Fabuland turned up in a recent bulk lot purchase at my place. A white goat - but no grey. There's quite a few figures: ...and some vehicles: I was impressed with this lot. I have a close-to-2yo who likes my system scale Lego but the minifigs are choking hazards. Fabuland is great because he can't pull the figs apart - same with the motorbikes. He has an obsession with those. I'm sure there were more - figures and certainly red and yellow bikes. They're probably chucked under the couch or out in the backyard somewhere by now :-$ . There were also Fabuland building elements in the bulk lot too. Roofing sections and doors etc. ...so what trains do you have? Vintage town sets? Not sure I would part with these Fabuland pieces just yet though - my son is currently enjoying them :-) . Rebecca

    What did you buy today?

Not today, but yesterday (and it wasn't a buy - it was a gift *wub* ) I got 6552 Rocky River Retreat in the mail. I didn't already own this set so it was a good build. I never knew there was a hidden room behind the rocks beside the cabin, and it's my first set with a fishing rod! Now I just need to get my hands on a bunch more river baseplates so I can integrate it into my town... Rebecca

    SNOT in the snow

Ha! For an alternative to the the banana and a different kind of flow problem, maybe you could use one of these? Whilst he may have a flow problem, he appears to have very good control - there's no run between those letters. Quite an acheivement. *y* Rebecca
