Which lego hair piece best matches your real hair?

Mine is best represented by the hair in my sigfig: SigFig3 by Slegengr, on Flickr This is an interesting topic!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I can hardly wait, MKJoshA! On another note, I hope to have more builds up this Saturday. Also, I finally got Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 operating on my computer. Is Mitgardia still looking for a mapmaker? I might be interested in giving this a go after I familiarize myself with this version of Photoshop and utilizing layers, if the other guild members are interested. I know I have not yet shown anything that would indicate any skill at map making, but I have always loved making maps of medieval fantasy worlds. Let me know if I should give this a go.

    Dragon Creature Armor

It does look better without the sword and shield, in my opinion, though it was an interesting idea to have the dragon carrying sword and shield as well. I think the main issue may have been that the shield blended too much with the armor and the dragon. I like the armor on the chest and underbelly. I think it fits well without making the dragon too bulky. Nice update, Vorkosigan!
  7. I do know from experience that the Duplo bricks would be just as sound as standard bricks, if not more so. They are larger bricks solidly molded, so they are stronger than the equivalent brick made up of standard bricks combined, but, due to their size, are less flexible in terms of design (the base "pixel" is much larger). Standard bricks work as well, of course. My recommendation would be to use Duplo as the main filler and cover the Duplo bricks with standard bricks to fine-tune the shaping and allow for more diverse connections atop the filler. As to cost, I have no experience shopping for Duplo. I have only used what I had as a toddler. I hope this makes sense and is helpful.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Welcome, Shay Frostfang! Nice sigfig, though I am concerned for his health due to the paleness of his skin... . I like how the torso strap and scabbard strap align, but I hope you do not plan to incorporate firearm uses for that powder-horn on his leg... In response to the comment you posted while I was typing, I am pretty sure fleshy heads are allowed, though some people (me included) prefer yellow and will make our preference known .

Welcome to Eurobricks, XAxles, though you joined before I did . EB is certainly an amazing forum!

    Dragon Creature Armor

Is this dragon carrying a sword and shield? I think that is the reason why the "front armor" sticks out too much. Overall, this armor is interesting, but I personally think it makes the dragon too bulky, as does most armor made for molded creatures. I think it is executed well here and is better than the attempts I have made at armoring molded creatures. The armor might look better if it did not include the same colors as the dragon. The helmet is definitely my favorite part, as it fits nicely and makes sense as a mounting place for reins. Interesting build, Vorkosigan!

    AoM: Archery Phase I

Thanks, Gideon! I appreciate compliments coming from an accomplished MOC expert! I have, since this photography session, realized the same thing that you commented on. I have plans to use a curved backdrop to avoid needing to edit out the edges (like in my other builds) or leave them there (like this build). Thanks for the tip!

    AoM: Archery Phase I

Thanks, Sir Gareth and Scaevola! The tree proved to be much more of a challenge than I thought it would. I was continually bumping off leaves already assembled and dropped the entire tree on the floor several times due to weakness in the trunk. The end result was worth the frustration, though. I am glad you like it!

    Clans of the Highlands

Cool build, MrBrick&BoB! The minifigures look excellent and fit well with the saurian steeds. The landscape is my favorite part including the trees and ground variations. The color scheme and style bring back memories of orcish lands in Warcraft I and II in the days well before World of Warcraft. Keep on brickin'!

    [MOC] The Hobbit: Lake-Town

This is a really nice looking build, kofi! Congratulations on displaying it at the LEGO store. I really like the water, as others mentioned above. I have been planning a similar idea for some time and I am glad to see how good it looks in your build. The trans-black works perfectly for cold winter gloomy water. I also like the tiles everywhere. They give the place an old, run-down feeling. The little statues in the alcoves of the entrance arch are very interesting. Nice work, and keep on brickin'!

    HSS: Streets of Barqa

This build is just amazing, Gideon! I repeat all that has already been said about this fabulous MOC! I really like the incorporation of the dirt and rubble inside the wall, viewed from the cut-away edges. This is very well done! I always love to see what you build, so Brick on!

    October: Middle Earth Contest

Someone else might know better than I do how to explain this, but I believe it means attaching parts using connections that LEGO would not use in a set. This is especially true if it stresses pieces, such as wedging a plate on edge between the studs of another plate or clipping a plate into any type of clip.

    A Mitgardian Pottery in Ruadh

Nice build, kabel! I love all the little details in this build. My favorite aspects are the orange tree and the combined red and dark red tiled roof. The only thought I have for improvement is that a nearby water source would be nice. Having worked with clay as a hobby, I have found the importance of having water to keep the clay in the right state for molding, especially when the air is hot and dry. Perhaps a well could be incorporated? This is also just a personal preference, as I love the look of wells. Great build!

    Tiny Fire Engine

What a quaint little fire engine, Playerfrom Taiwan! I love how many details were included on such a tiny model and the humorous yet somewhat realistic appearance it has for its size. My favorite detail is that you incorporated the drive shaft under such a tiny model. Brick on!

Guard Tower and the Four Seasons

Nice build with lots of little details, Regenerate builder! Derfel's building guide is definitely useful for learning how to incorporate details. My favorite details are the roof and the tiled walls. Of course, I also love the foliage and the representation of the four seasons. Excellent work!

    Allons-y Alonzo!

This is a nice build, vitreolum! The details are great, like the framed doors, the water from the gutter downspout, the drain along the street gutter, the coloring, the varying wall textures, the figure, the police box, rather everything! I recognize the Dr. Who reference, though I have never known more about Dr. who than what I have seen here on Eurobricks. My favorite part is the second world seen inside the phone booth. Excellent work, vitreolum!
