Well... that explains why they had a big happy birthday celebration on October 26th, 2011, only to be followed 9 days later with the most unexpected (to me, at least :P) announcement ever on November 4th. I always wondered why there was such a sudden shift... -
In terms of new parts and such, I'm pretty satisfied with the summer sets. But as for how they look, I'm undecided on most of the beasts, Ekimu is okay, and Umarak the Destroyer looks amazing, though it is unfortunate that he's lost some of his character in his transformation. But then again, if he's been mutated somehow into a crazy monster. it makes sense that he would lose a lot of his character. :P Cool! I wonder if that would work with the other 6 Toa Mata and the elemental creatures...

Judging by the smiley (which is slightly different on older minifigs), this minifig appears to be an older one, but beyond that it just looks like a custom minifigure like someone else said. It has a cap, oxygen tank, and pickaxe, making this minifig seem rather out of place in any existing set I can think of. -
It wouldn't be the first time printing/stickers was absent from preliminary pictures.

I heavily heavily doubt that StampyLongHead has gotten a deal with Lego and Warner Brothers and Mojang/Microsoft to be in Lego Dimensions. It's a pretty funny idea, though. My guesses on the abbreviations: GB - Ghostbusters HP - Harry Potter S - Sonic (I would have other suggestions but that apparently ninja-edited just2good post from earlier seems too suspicious...) AT - Adventure Time (Had a project that reached 10k on Lego Ideas which was rejected possibly due to licensing issues, so it sounds like a feasible candidate.) MI - Minecraft Mr T - Mr. T seems obvious... too obvious. But what else could this stand for? KR - Knight Rider is the best and only guess I've found so far... FB - Facebook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them TTG - Teen Titans Go GR - ??? ET - E.T. Still wondering what those "connectables" are... they sound like add-on components for the gamepad-portal-base-thing... -

Is this the modern version of Lego Universe properties? Is this a Lego-version of Minecraft? (Which is sort of like a digital version of Lego?) I was hoping Dimensions would feature something like this, but if this turns out to be the game with a sandbox building system then I'm fine with that.

Just to clarify, in case you think there are rumors of Big Bang Theory characters showing up, I think when everyone says "Big Bang" they're actually talking about the new 2016 theme, Nexo Knights. ("Big Bang" referring to the codename for big launch themes like Chima.) And to be honest, if minidoll characters are going to show up in Dimensions, I think Elves is a lot more likely to show up than Friends, for the same reason Ninjago characters have showed up rather than City characters. But if Friends do show up, then good. It would be rather interesting to see if they sold well and how people would respond to them... -

I'm guessing the TARDIS Stealth ability makes it either go invisible or causes the chameleon circuit to start working. If the latter is the case, I hope it can turn into an organ. ("Tomb of the Cybermen" reference. ) -

I bet a minifigure version of the Flying Monkey will show up in 2016, along with Dorothy and most of the other characters we've seen that look like they exist as actual minifigures. Also, seeing as that the Doctor can switch between all his incarnations, I really really hope other characters can switch between their variations as well. Angry Kitty, Techno Robes Kai, Classic Batman, etc. -

Well, it would make sense to release Star Wars in Lego Dimensions as far away as early 2017, because by then Disney will have probably sold thousands of Infinity 3.0 Star Wars characters, especially with the crazy Star Wars VII hype that's building up everywhere. Still, this is really hard to believe, but like you said, we all just have to wait and see... -

Yeah, I saw that. I thought it was pretty funny. Actually, will Gandalf be able to switch to his White variation, similar to how the Dcotor has all 13 (including War) Doctors? And the same for other characters with multiple variants? (Man of Steel Superman, Classic Batman, Regular Nya, Piece of Resistance or Robot Disguise Emmet, and Western Marty McFly?) -

Maybe they made a big emphasis on it so you would assume that meant he wasn't going to die, thereby using reverse logic or something to downplay the fact that he will die. And by die I mean cease to be... undead? How exactly do you describe a ghost's state of existence if it's already technically dead but can still be "killed"? -

Someone on Youtube pointed out that if you play the video in slow motion, during the clip where Skull Grinder shows up, you can just barely see Ekimu for like a quarter second. (On the Russian version of the trailer, at least.)
