Calling Volunteers! Eslandola Vs. Mardier - Build Off
Legostone replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well, I guess the SR would have kind of a point of weaker ESL convoys, but other than that I must agree, as ESL is currently at peace with the other nations this is a quite difficult situation; this would likely work for any other faction though. I think a fairer solution could be discussed in the New Features for the MRCA Thread? -
Calling Volunteers! Eslandola Vs. Mardier - Build Off

Well, thats a misunderstanding on my side then :P Btw, Vedauwoo, are you still interested in the Mardier Side of this? Then you, JN and Bregir could go for it... -
Calling Volunteers! Eslandola Vs. Mardier - Build Off
Legostone replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well, if the Eslandolan Volunteers build something, and the Mardier Volunteers don't I guess the matter should automatically go to Eslandola. If neither side builds something the ships should stay with Mardier though... -
Merchant's Colonial Trading Company - General Discussion
Legostone replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The math still doesn't check out - 75 * 30 = 2250, which is 750 DB to little. 500/30 is 16 + 2/3; you would have to pay extra. Instead of this I would recommend 25 shares earning 20 DB each for a price of 80 for MCTC members and 120 for others (at least thats what I would recommend - off course there are other options. -
I believe this ship is actually a private ship owned by Bregir, not a ship of the Royal Navy;) As you know more about ships than I do, I would usually not criticise the rigging and instead just ask a question if it is typical that the foremast is so far backwards. While I think the overall ship is good, I think there is still a little bit of a tumblehome missing in the centre of the ship - the inwards angled front looks great, why didn't you continue that towards the stern? How did you connect the sails forward on the ship btw? I've seen that a few times now and I think it could replace my current holes quite well.

April 616 - Corrington's Escorted Trade Runs
Legostone replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Dear Mr Coyle, as I unexpectantly won another ship, I would like to let the La Raenette join the Wringe II on the Merry Lyric run, again for the same offer of 10% of the outcome of the run. If possible I would prefer them on guarded by different escorts. If there is not enough space for the La Raenette, I would sent the Wringe II on the Fire Trader instead, again with the same offer of 10%. Sincerely, Jerome Monezterrell, citizen of Eslandola, member of MAESTRO -
Auction! Bloody Bill's Booty for Sale!
Legostone replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Done! Didn't expect to win it, but 30 DB for a class 2F isn't bad at all. Lets hope she stays safe this time! Btw, can the actual highest bid be published too? I would really be interested in seeing that too! -
April 616 - Eslandola's Escorted Trade Runs

Okay, I'm sorry for the extra effort, I was just somehow suspecting the runs to be as full as last month. The Winds Beauty should go with Clouding Blues instead! -
Gunnery Drills Aboard The Dark Lightning
Legostone replied to gedren_y's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
First - this is by no means a bad ship, so please don't take any of the criticism that might be in this reply personally - I just want to give you hints what you could improve. I'm not the biggest fan of long text, so I'll just make a list of both, my positive (there are many!) and negative (there are some: 1. the sails and the rigging 1.1. great idea for brick build sails 1.2. as mentioned before, the square sails seem to be upside down 1.3. the triangular sail is great, I just noticed it isn't just straight while checking the LDD file which is great! 1.4. however, those extra connectors on it seem a little bit odd to me - just leaving the rigging as a straight line over it would make it look better; I could just be missing something here though 1.5. masts 1.5.1 the foremast seems to be a little bit to small compared to the others - it should be a bit bigger and also have square sails (except I just haven't seen this type of rigging before, someone correct me!) 1.5.2 in the case of 3 masts the main mast is usually the middle one; in your case the last of the masts is the highest one, which is odd to my knowledge, but it doesn't look bad either - just a little odd 1.5.3 there seems to be a lot of space behind the main mast; I would try with one midsection less or maybe even a forth mast; while this may sound odd this could work 1.5.4 great combining multiple mast types! 1.6. The flag - the second brick build Eslandolan Flag I see, and the first one that really shows a lot of details - great! I think this is my favourite detail of this ship as it adds so much colour! 1.7. same for the crows nest - well fitting 1.8. some great part usage around the rigging - at the top of the mast, connecting the sails to the rigging 2. The Stern 2.1. looking from the back, the angled windows as and cat tails look great! 2.2 the piece for the rudder looks interesting, can you tell which piece it is? 2.3 Those "dark lightnings" fit well to its name:D 2.4 the different grey stripes below the windows look well fitting 2.5 the height - it seems to be to high compared to the rest of the ship, there are at least 2 studs above the door that could easily be gotten rid of. It also looks a bit boxy; this could be changed by adding a few curves to the connection to the main deck. 2.7 good interior! 2.8 the area above looks quite well too, missing maybe a compass if one is available in LDD; this area contains some nice details just like the deck! 2.9 What did you use for the lamp in the cabin? Great looking detail there 2.10 Just noticed the stairs going to the gun area - that looks good being raised above the stern 3. Deck and Gundeck 3.1 really liking the shape and colour difference around the gunports 3.2 the spacing, however, seems to be a little to small, you just have 2 studs in-between the guns here. At least 3 studs would look much better I think 3.3 the sudden end of the gunports - they seem to be only covering half the ships length. I would suggest spacing them a bit further apart and maybe removing one midsection; this would also deal with the to space between the mast and stern. 3.4 the anchor tends to be more forward (around the bow) as far as I know; I could be wrong on this subject though 3.5 the railings - great use of that crane piece! Many more details around here too; while it may look a little odd having the guns both above and below I think it fits the overall style pretty well! 3.6 really liking those diagonal parts on the bow - I wish there would be more angled parts all around this ship though! 4. Other details 4.1 there is a lot going on on this ship, thats great! All the (gunpowder?) barrels standing around, the huge and detailed crew, the stacked cannonballs (I sure hope this ship sits in a dock - they would be rolling around and causing a lot of harm otherwise;)!) 4.2 great figurehead! 4.3 again, nice crew! 4.4 the colours - please, be it this ship or your next one, use more, different, colours on the next ship you build! All grey just looks a bit boring! 4.5 To be fair - many of these details are difficult to see in the pictures and take some time to find in the LDD file;) Might look even better on a render though! -
April 616 - Eslandola's Escorted Trade Runs

I'll be sure to notify you again if anything changes by the middle of the month so there would still be plenty of time for other members of Eslandola to take the spot. -

Can I reserve a spot in Dragons Teeth for Winds Beauty? I might change the convoy later though. -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Introduction and Starting Thread
Legostone replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
If one were to have a class 1 licensed with a free license and now wants to license a class 2, is there any way he could just pay the class 1 license besides unlicensing the class 1 (no cost as it was the free license), then using the free license for the class 2 and then license the class 1?- 2287 replies

[ESL-MRCA: Bloody Bill takes the Heart of Eslandia]
Legostone replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great MRCA result! I'm guessing you also just build the broadside of the pirate ship and just a little bit more? -
Nice small boat - besides the sail and a steering lever (a wheel wouldn't be fitting on a boat this small) it looks very complete! I think it should be able to qualify as a class 1WR. As well as that, welcome to BOBS!

Jerome Monezterrel has placed a bid on La Raenette. Btw, what happened to Captain Zublius Van Wrecks captures, the Fallen Angel(okay, thats a Warship, so I guess that is different) and the Wringe I? -
April 616 - Corrington's Escorted Trade Runs

Dear Mr Coyle would like to apply with the Wringe II for the Merry Lyric run. I would like to offer 10% of my potential income from the run at this point. Sincerely Jerome Monezterrell, citizen of Eslandola, member of MAESTRO -
Great it is helpful! Thanks! Thanks! I'm sure there is more to this, these are just the techniques that I know - if anyone has any more techniques I'll gladly include them or link their post in the first post! I never thought about using those parts for masts, but that sounds interesting for sure! I'll see on the weekend how I can add this to this! I've already used to alternate round 2x2 bricks and plates which works rather well, but still requires a significant amount of each part. The easiest solution tends to be just finding some source of them - which I know can be difficult if you are not a fan of ordering on Bricklink or elsewhere. I'll see on the weekend about technic brick masts which could work well for some ship types!

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-up and Discussion

Legostone replied to kabel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
There have been rumours that not all members of Corrington are to excited about your relations and actings towards Oleon. I am just saying that if there were a war to happen with Corrington I would not be supportive.- 780 replies

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-up and Discussion
Legostone replied to kabel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I must say that I am not happy with the current situation in Eslandola, as our king is risking the peace with Corrington just because he is related to the former king of Oleon. If our relations worsen I suspect a risk of a sudden loss of support for your throne. If he thinks that his family is that important, than he should at least leave us out of this situation!- 780 replies

@Bregir: 1. Good idea, I would also want to include that in the price increase - the first 8 rating slots cost 100%, the next 4 125%, the next 4 150%, the next 4 175%, the next 200% and then keep increasing it every 4 slots by 50%. If a ship overlaps the higher cost rate will be applied(?). This way there is no hard limit on how many vessels one can have, but the price increases heavily after a certain amount. I don't think everyone should have a ship of every second class build, maybe in the lower range - you have to have a class 1 or 2 licensed to get a class 3-5, and once you have a class 3-5 (built or licensed?) you can get any class above. That would be the maximum of restrictions I would give to that. 2. Sounds good too, right now sending out ships without convoys just doesn't seem worth it, that should change. 3. doesn't sound bad, but I think there would be a lot of effort involved. I also think it could get a bit unfair to some people as the effort to find a good route could get a decent bit more difficult. 4. Maybe keep the amount of NPC vessels (but I still think there are way to many NPC pirates that are heavily armed as of now - I think there are way to many now, maybe make them not appear every MRCA), but increase the chance of them sinking instead of catching them. Also - why are there only armed NPC vessels? I would also expect those nations to trade, but not a single trade ship of the other nations has been caught yet. 5. An example build for every class (when one exists already) would be a great idea. For those classes where one doesn't exist yet maybe go for offering a small bonus for the first vessel of its kind (which I would appreciate anyways, there have been many vessels, but many types haven't been built once so far). 6. I think this rather goes towards the skill system in the future instead of the MRCA, so maybe lets stop discussing about that here? to the Edit: More strategic options never hurt!

Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol 1, Issue 3) APRIL 616
Legostone replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm pretty sure you still have to pay the extra. But you can game the system by shifting the more expensive ships in the cheaper ranges I guess. -
Yes, this! As well as that maybe add a bonus of 25 DB given to a random FB outside of those top 15. I agree completely with the build quality part, not much to add there Yep, everyone seems to be forgetting that heavy increase in price after the 3rd ship, as most classes don't really seem worth it anymore at that point. I still think it should be a bit different (maybe instead of straight up +50% go for steps of 25%, so 4th ship 125% total, 5th 150%, 6th 175% and so on. Same result on average, but might allow some players to get a few more vessels. Could get messy calculating though (well, it could actually be really easy with the right use of google forms, so I don't think this would really pose a problem) Yep, I'm already spending way to much time calculating which ship is the best one to use for the MRCA (the part of the spreadsheet I showed earlier wasn't everything, thats my spreadsheet:P), so I would rather not add that part to that. Also, it could get easy to find out where a fleet landed, so the SR or opposing nations could obliterate other fleets with just a little bit of planning. Let the builder decide what ship type he wants, and if it really doesn't fit send him to the naval licensing court - thats why we have them. Last MRCA one class 5T (400 DB) was captured and one class 5F (350 DB) sunk. If you don't consider that a fortune at this point in the game I'm not sure what to consider a fortune in this game - that are more DBs on each than I have right now, and I've been saving up!
