Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hey, if any of you aren't yet part of the flickr group and upload on flickr, why not join it and add your pictures to it? I've found flickr groups to be useful when looking for inspiration and having most BOBS builds in one would be fantastic.- 1992 replies

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You are already using the LOTR sails, why not try them with a Xebec-like setup? that shape should fit that style too -
Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@LM71Blackbird General shape looks good, it might be a bit too wide for the length, but that would be the perspective. I think the widest part could be a bit further forward, but it should be alright either way. The stern is missing the part for mounting the rudder, but thats an easy change. The bow needs some work though - look at the HMS Victory, largest intact vessel from the time: See the width of the keel? Thats how it should be, and that is entirely doable for your vessel too! 2 studs wide is no issue for that size of vessel though The bowsprit would also start further up, but that should be an easy change I hope ;) -

@Elostirion Well said! Though I would still like to see a Galleon, Frigate or Indiaman (just some large ship) from your hands...- 1992 replies

Wow, that combined Destiny's Bounty sure looks great! I just picked one up (took about 4 1/2 hours to assemble, a fun build (I think the first set I bought in a couple of years now), but a bit too wide... I may have to follow the MOC your Bricks and buy a second one...

We had noticed this temple half an hour earlier. Given that we went out without a real plan, we decided it may be a good vantage point. Closing in on it, we quickly noticed we didn't need to go further from there - the Orchid was here. But these skeletons are giving us a creepy vibe; I think we should turn back now...

[ESL CH1C]A long forgotten Temple

Thanks! Thanks! It didn’t collapse? It did twice during construction, not the sturdiest thing I’ve built recently... Thanks! -
[ESL CH1C]A long forgotten Temple
Legostone replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! Glad its appreciated Thanks! Haha, thanks! Well, thats basically what I thought while building this - how large can I go with my brick bricks, and then I thought - why build 4 sides? Thanks! First one saying something about the orchid, have you noticed which part I used? Thanks! Well, for all we know we might have some less friendly natives here for once -
@TheCubbScout The first couple days had been though. They had spotted a couple signs of life on the island, but hadn't met anyone yet. Looking for the highest part of the island to get an overview, they had gotten lost; having no idea about their location, it was quickly decided to follow their steps back for a little while. Half a mile out, Andrew noticed something on the floor - a giant paw print. Something may be following them; what to do now? Safe: We should build a shelter; this might also be useful if we get bad weather soon... Risky: We have seen signs of natives around here. Try finding them - with a bit of luck they aren't hostile and we find them before the cat finds us! Elaborate: We should follow the paw prints and keep an eye out on our back, ready to defend ourselves. If we use our Machete and Hatchet we can take out this wild beast! The pelt may be worth something..

With the town flooded with visitors, the choice in stay was often made by those who arrived first. Given that we arrived last, we had very limited options for our stay. Luckily we found a still somewhat empty Inn in a corner of Jameston; the current inhabitants were leaving through the window; we are hope that we don't have to do the same...

[SR - AMRCA - Doctor Thaum] The hunt for Red Oktober
Legostone replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Professor Thaum With the help of the floating deck the Andromeda managed to leave Pontelli earlier than anticipated; the area where they suspected the wreck was quickly reached. Looking at the flat sea, a new problem appeared - how were they going to find the wreck? No sign could be spotted from atop the vessel, but maybe something could be done... Option 1 - We have spotted some natives around here; maybe they know something. Show your crew "interviewing" some natives about the location of the wreckOption 2 - We have the technology, and lots of old clothes! Use technology you recently helped improve to get a better overview of the area and maybe spot the wreckOption 3 - We go diving! Show your crew diving in various locations hoping to find the wreck by dump luck -
Celestia’s Superb Orchid - Era II, Challenge I RESULTS POSTED
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So far no opposition in the court, and if anyone wants an explanation as for why it was extended 30th - I had just picked 15 days as a nice round number to suggest to add to the deadline and nobody complained or wondered . Just post your entries now, I'm sure we'll figure this out (I think we had this issue before, didn't we?)- 121 replies

I think that was something we had missed with the requirement of a *IPS cost for ship level upgrades and the issue that *IPS can't be transferred. I think we can overlook it for the time being given the circumstances.

Two possibilities - rounding error (highly unlikely) or Oleon has a 20% tax on property income. @Captain Genaro @Phred Any idea if that is the case?

The one labeled January. Someone may have forgotten to add it to the first post.

It is in the summary, you usually have to wait a couple of minutes for it to show up as we have a lot of spreadsheets running. Make sure you are checking the January Summary.

Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol 3, Issue 1) January 618
Legostone replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think I'm gonna need @Phred - we are running in the issue with duplicate names, and if I change the name of the old vessel it could cause issue with previous upkeep (?). It would be best if @Dukesc could accept a (minimal) name change for the vessel... -
Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol 3, Issue 1) January 618
Legostone replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have corrected the names, don't worry about that. @Phred you'll probably have to deal with income for these vessels in some special manner. -
Eslandola Colonial Council, Second Cycle, 618, IN SESSION
Legostone replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Governor Monezterrell walked into the council hall, seemingly enraged. "We've got to do something! They have dared attacking our shipping and sailed straight into our port! Are we gonna let them get away with this? We need to seize those vessels! We have the wind on our side here!" @Garmadon (ETWC) @Kai NRG (MCTC) @Legostone (MAESTRO) @gedren_y (independent traders) @Capt Wolf (Sea of Storms, Admius Legistrad) @Umbra-Manis (Sea of Thieves)- 207 replies
