The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Zzz replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Police drop ship and the classic space cruiser are both really cool, but if the Sandcrawler is only half good, that is were my money goes. Still, I liked the little classic space ship from the Benny poster a lot better, there are too many strange design choices with the cruiser. Still, it is CS and it is about time.- 2626 replies

That would be amazing, I love everything from ANH and I never picked up the old one, as it seemed very simply designed. Many opportunities for this set - new and updated minifigures, power functions, hugely evolved building techniques, sets that could get along (like the 4 Jabba sets) = really looking forward for this one! Just do me a favor and please don't slightly update the Sandtrooper. It's perfect and doesn't need any update. Lately you have been sabotaging army building, TLC!

This just might have been mentioned before, but where are the female super heroes in this wave? There are none? Whoever got the idea that boys don't like to play with female action or mini figures is so wrong.

The Hulk and the Cap sets sound interesting, but I believe there is no chance for a Winter Soldier set now. Lego is making random sets to accompany the movie releases, but not real movie sets. Somewhat disappointing, but I hope they change this for GOTG. The minifig lineup from the Hulk set sounds really strange, but nonetheless very appealing to me.

There are several phase II clone troopers on Ebay, like here: http://www.ebay.de/itm/LEGO-Star-Wars-BRANDNEW-2014-FOUR-WHITE-CLONE-TROOPER-zu-75002-75015-75021/321245044879?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D15813%26meid%3D2743551985733698750%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D7513%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D321245044879%26 Can someone tell me from what set these are from? Last time I checked, there were only specialized clones in the 2014 sets. 501st in the Juggernaut, Kashyyk, Utapau, Saleucami trooper. Anything I missed?

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Zzz replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Those sets really look great, and I like the concept of having a normal and a transformed one to build. This is what lego is about and so many seem to forget that you can create whacky things from a simple set. I feel that the movie holds the potential to be the ultimate marketing and instruction for how the toys is meant to work, how every single set is meant to work - and that is in endless ways. Now if only the prices for these sets are right, lately Lego was a little too overconfident about pricing their sets - at least outside the US.- 2626 replies

And I thought the series is going downhill since the Fire Station, but this is simply amazing. All the details, all the techniques, all the character this set has. I don't want to sound mean (towards the female designer who created the City Hall) but this is where the series should be. City Hall especially and also the Cinema were not on par with this. Too bad this would go well with the Cafe Corner which I didn't get when it was out. This will look great on display and once it's a set that will look even better when it's crowded with minifigs!
-
It seems you have enough money right now, so you should keep your sets. Just make sure to take some time now to separate sets. Buy some press sealed plastic bags and store every set in its original box with manual etc. and put the boxes in a dry place. This will take a sunday afternoon but believe me, in ten years from now you will be more than glad you did that. It will be a lot easier for you to sell off half of your collection in a couple of years (or even right now), if you need money or space - or if you just want to get rid of it - or give it to a friend. Endless possibilities what's gonna happen but trust me on this - once you have your sets organised, it's all easy from there on!

All numbers are occupied and all sets for the first half are now revealed (at least by name) = and there goes my hope for an exclusive OT set. Boy I would have loved to have a 50€ Dagobah set....

None of them is really good in my book. Compared to wave I and the Hobbit wave it's a bit of a disappointment.

Lego is just not getting that this line needs battle packs. Getting a few more figures for little money is making the current sets more attractive, it's not making them less attractive. The Lone Ranger BP is making every other set of the line more attractive, cause I can get a few more figures to play with. Isn't that the reason that even City has them? To 'upgrade' the more expensive sets? To have an introduction, a small impulse buy set, a gift and then get hooked? Boy there are so many reasons to have cheaper sets. Why not here? Or let me change my question: Is there any line that doesn't have battle packs? Then why not this line, which is based on epic battles? TLC is clearly afraid that they won't sell the bigger sets if there are smaller sets, which is a mistake in my opinion.

You remember the colour on this one, Caseyref? Much appreciated and please don't tell me white and bright blue..
-
I have to admit that the Kashyyk troopers look nice but the rest of the line is really disappointing. The Death Star battle pack is seriously a disaster. One Stormie would have made this into a big seller, but who needs an army of gunners or Royal Guards? It's called Battle pack, no? Also kind of lame to give us 2+2 in both BPs, guess this is cheaper to produce, but an OT fan or collector would have surely welcomed an Officer, normal DS Trooper or Stormie. The Chibi line is seriously awful, but the X-Wing and Star Destroyer have some nice figs, so I might check these out on sale. And as Blondie-Wan said, this constant changing of slight details on the minifig prints is getting so annoying and impossible for us to mass up a bit of troops.

And the Saleucami Battlepack. -
I don't like the repetition in the SH line too much, someone here once said TLC doesn't realize what license they have in their hands with this, and I must concur. Having said this, the Penguin in a rubber duck - alike vehicle = sounds very cool.

Having OT sets as 'Exclusives' makes sense, as kids are more into CW and PT than the older fans, who probably prefer to buy online. In Europe, we had the Y-Wing as Exclusive in 2012 and the Hoth Battle this year. it kind of makes sense to me not to have those sets on a toy store shelf, and I believe they'll follow this pattern and have an OT set for the grown-ups as Exclusive next year as well. Strong the rumor is with a 50€ set. Also it's kind of fair after the Ewok Village, giving us a minute to breath. And in the summer there might be some Tatooine sets waiting for us, while Cloud City will only come once the Ewok Village retires, I believe.

They won't look like the sets for the movie. The movie line is standalone and has it's own evil Robo-Police Force. City is City and will probably look very similar to previous years.
-
So "Battle on Saleucami" will be the CW BP, Death Star will probably have Stormie, Officer, DS Trooper and Gunner - leaves 2 Episode III BPs and very little chance for a Marine, but hopefully some variation. Those Phase II troopers haven't been seen in a long time! Those mid-scale sets, I don't know. Lego might be on to something here, but I remember the Midi Falcon and SD sold not very well. Will have to take a look but if done right, those certainly sound like a nice model for a desk. They might also jump on the chibi-train, which attracts kids but surely is not to every Afol's taste. With only so few interesting sets around (BP and midi models aside), the Ewok Village becomes more and more tempting...

I wouldn't have anything against police sets in a different colour than the last 8 years. Some grey / dark blue vehicles would be nice. So I basically have nothing against Police every year, but please make it look different. Special Forces was a step in the right direction but any more bright blue / white would be boring.

Sounds great that you are actually using them already, will look out for your pics when you post them. Feel free to do it in this thread as well! And @lugnut = (welcome to EB!) Did you take any pictures of it yet? I am sure many of us would love to see how you incorporated all these guys into a town!

I really like the CMF and honestly find them much better than the usual "City" minifigures these days. (It's just my opinion and I bet there are others but that's not the point here) I tried to find something like this in the past years already, but didn't really come across it, so the question is = Are there any Town layouts that are primarily populated by the CMF instead of the normal "City" figures? I know that some MOC'ers use fleshy and customized figures, but I would love to see any layout or bigger scene with the CMF (customized or original doesn't matter), as the detail on the figures is just a little better (no judgement here) than the average City figure, and I would love to see them in action! Any pics or links welcome and if a topic like this exists already, please excuse!

Btw, in the past it has always been that you don't have to sum up specific sets (SW, SH) to reach the 50$ - but just reach it in total and have one specific set (SW in this case) in your cart. Don't know if it was a mistake but always worked. So feel free to stock up on Friends sets, guys! You just need one SW keyring in your order and voila - blue Cloney is yours! I'm considering Hoth, X-Men or the Delorean, but it will depend on my wallet.
