That would be "Quatermass and the pit" and it sounds like a good idea for an MOC.

[MOC] Old Republic - Crimson Pilgrim
PaddyBricksplitter replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
! I have no idea how this was made... Probably some kind of magic I'd imagine. -
I think they look great, Bossk's is my fav. They certainly look like SW universe ships. Did you design these ships yourself or are they from concept art of the bounty hunters ships or something?
-
No my collection is all pretty new. It's from 76000 Arctic Batman Vs Mr Freeze. You get two trans blue rock pieces. So potentially you could have a whole host of frozen mini figs.

Thanks all. I know Warhammer 40K is not really well known (including by me) but it's aesthetic is pretty influential in Sci-Fi. Any space marine in video games etc has it's roots there. For example Gears of War draws heavily on it. So I chucked it in the mix with The Ice Cream Machine. Anyway I edited the pages and made sure the images were the right size. I think I have it figured out now so I don't look like such a bungling noob (for now) :D

Signs that Lego has taken over your brain
PaddyBricksplitter replied to Cloveapple's topic in Community
I used to look at buildings and every day objects and think of how they could be built from geometric shapes for 3D modelling. It was what I did all day at work so it just sort of leaked out into my daily thoughts. Now that's been replaced by Lego. It's kind of similar but it's about a million times more fun. I reckon it's just a type of creative thinking that happens when you often think about reproducing things in different mediums. -

What about trying Brick Owl it actually works really well. Unlike Brick link.. -

That works really well. You def have a eye for what makes a good ship.

Nice job man. Looks like a Light cycle from the original movie. Especially in the first picture. Which set did the wheel come in? I would like to get it too.

Thanks all. It's always good to get positive feedback. Makes it even more worth while if you enjoy making a kind of odd MOC and people get it :)

Thanks guys.

Lego Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
PaddyBricksplitter replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Man I love this! I really do. I would buy it. I think it might be a bit too niche for an Ideas set though. Still you never know.- 16 replies

My mind always starts to wander, always has. I see little scenes in there. During the course of my life they have emerged in different ways, drawing, painting, 3D modelling. I trained and worked as an artist. Now I'm an honest to goodness grown up I found lego is a great visual medium. XD and it's not work. I can't use it for a portfolio or use it to get paid. It has no other use but pure pleasure. As a child it was just part of play. Mainly knights chopping off heads and building sci fi toys that I couldn't get in the local toy shops.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
PaddyBricksplitter replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi. Has anyone complied a list showing the months each set is being released in? I need to update my cool stuff calendar. -
Yeah I read it. I don't think I exceed the Max size. Def made sure my 2nd post was 800x600.
-
Pretty smooth :) I like the way you did the ground.
-
That's cool. I have no idea how these big ships are built.
-
Wow. Those ship designs are a cut above the rest.
-
Your ship designs are really nice. Mostly stud less too.

I like the mech designs a lot. Distinctive. Space in the title always makes everything better.
