I see your point about the Green Goblin and Electro being beyond recongition, which I really think is a shame. Although I really wouldn't classify Elektro as 1st or 2nd tier. Especially since Luke Cage is far more well known. The problem is that there are really only a handful of super recongisable characters anyhow and lots have already been done once, so they will have to do slightly less recognisable. Also most children who buy these sets will have either read the comics or watched the cartoons and therefore will know them. Lets face it the only adults who will buy them will be ones who know who they are as well. I won't even comment on the their stories suck part :) I love my classic Powerman and Ironfist and early Captain America too much for that. Also, MODOK is awesome!

Which ones are third tier characters? These are surely all 1st tier or second tier. Maybe Taskmaster might be considered thrid tier, but he has been featured quite a lot in comics for the past 13 years or so.

I definitely agree with everyone who says that getting the same spiderman over and over again is very annoying. A different suit would be awesome. Or just use a different hero (I know people might think that a set won't sell well without a hero as famous as Spiderman, but when things like Chima, Ninjago, etc came out people didn't know who any of those people were and still bought the sets because they looked cool). Also a few extra villains in sets would be great. More villains and less heroes I say.

Powerman is awesome, but I mean original 70's Powerman, not kid Powerman. They need more scenes and less vehicles. Is there some evidence that suggests that kids dislike sets that don't have vehicles?

As an avid comic collector, I would consider none of those mentioned 'lesser heroes; al;though I suppose children might not know as many. If the line continues for several years, I am very confident that they would eventually produce Iceman, Mystique, Dr Strange, Black Panther, Daredevil, Elektra, She-Gulk and Coulson. I agree though that lesser heroes and villains would be best, maybe with a smattering of the 'lesser heroes' that you mentioned earlier to get the children interested in the line as many of them will have heard of some of them (I'm a teacher and at the start of getting a new class I run a superhero day and many of my children knew of several of the above).

Nice, I didn't know either way. It would be an awesome way to sell more obscure characters. Hell I would even pay more for these, maybe £3.50 instead of £2.

I imagine someone has already floated the idea of a collectable minifigure series of Marvel characters. I guess it might not be feasible due to not having the permission for individual minifigures on their own (similar to Star Wars), but it would be awesome. If it were possible I think it would be awesome to have a theme: My first series would be: SHIELD VS HYDRA/A.I.M. I would include 16 minifigures, 8 generic and 8 heroes. Hydra: Hydra medic (first aid kit, pistol), Hydra soldier (rifle, grenade), A.I.M. soldier (classic beekeeper costume, rifle), A.I.M. scientist (laptop or vials), Armin Zola (I have no idea how they would do him, but he could look awesome), Batroc the Leaper (I always loved this guy), Baron Von Strucker (monocle face, Satan's claw accessory), Viper (pistol, whip). SHIELD: SHIELD medic (first aid kit, pistol), SHIELD soldier (rifle, grenade), SHIELD Mandroid (awesome Mandroid armour), Nick Fury LMD (half the face blown away to reveal a robot, classic Nick Fury look), Classic Nick Fury (2 x pistols, eye patch), Classic Hawkeye (bow, quiver, awesome Hawkeye mask), classic 70's Black Widow (black catsuit, whip), Danielle Moonstar (worked undercover for SHIELD, would just look awesome in any of her costumes). I doubt my selection would sell that well due to the kids probably wanting the big name characters. But still I would love it :)

Pepper Potts is not a superhero. On a different note, the new minifigures look pretty awesome, especially the Falcon and Taskmaster (one of the best villains ever, brilliant in Agent X). I missed out on getting giant hulk last time so am looking forward to correcting that. Will need a whole bunch of those hydra minifigures and will have to get a custom Baron Struker from ebay I think to lead them. I wish that pack would come with two different Hydra heads for contrast. The actual sets themselves look a little uninspired. There are literally dozens of iconic settings and vehicles that they could include in a set so I am disappointed that they are so generic. Who's lab is the hulk trashing? His own? Would be much better if it was a Hydra or AIM secret laboratory or one of the Taskmaster's training centres. Still, hopefully the line will go on for years and they will start to produce more inspired settings. We need a marvel quivalent to Arkham, size and awesomeness-wise.

Hulk sized would be way too big for The Beast, it would not make any sense, he is only just bigger than the other X-men.

Bricklink have disappointed me with this letter, so I for one intend to stop using their service. Clearly they are acting purely for their own interests and not for the good of the community. There is plenty of room for competition out there.

Simpsons Collectable Minifigures aka Series 13 (non-official term)
rakky replied to kasmca's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Would much rather see a different themed mini figures series - famous characters from history or a different licensed theme that has never had a lego release but would be compatible with other minifigures due to useing normal heads. -
I'm in a similar situation, Jabba had 8 Gamorreans and I have 7 at the moment, 3 new, 4 old, they look pretty odd when put together unfortunately
-
Probably along time since you last thought about it, but I have started modding mine, first thing I did was get rid of all the bluish gray floor plates and replaced them with sand coloured ones (Jabba's floor was sand coloured after all). I have just extended the throne room to build the four alcoves opposite Jabba and am hoping to finish the whole throne room properly soon. I ahve custom made all his henchmen as well to go in it, first ever MOC so taking a while, I have been making the henchmen for almost 2 years I think :)
-
Argggg :( no big original trilogy sets (I know we have had quite a few in the last few years) was so hoping for more alien species to use in my Jabba's palace MOC. Deathstar troopers and royal guards are a must for my deathstar though :)

Massive load of bionicle and hero factory (I think)
rakky posted a topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi, just wondering if anyone here actually collects this stuff, my mother bought me several boxes of lego from a charity store and amongst them were hundreds of bionicle and possibly hero factory stuff, loads of weapons, faces, legs, arms, weird robot driver things, etc... not sure what to do with it all, is anyone interested in buying them? If so I will take a picture of what there is and send it to them, I'm not sure if there is much of a market for this stuff, so I thought I would ask here first. I know it would be easier to sell if I knew what was there, however due to the scale of parts this would be a nightmare to do. Thanks anyone who can help me out. -
at 60 pounds its rather steep, but now that it is 45 pounds on most store sites I will definitely be getting this. What is the problem with the Gamorrean guard anyhow? He looks fairly accurate (maybe a little skinny), he's better than the old one anyhow. Thanks for the review.

New Bricklink Store - BrickSport - Grand Opening Today!
rakky replied to Porty's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
:( a shame you only ship in the United States -
I think it looks less blocky. My biggest worry was that the upper deck would not have enough room for all the characters that were on it during the film, but I have 8 spread out across it and it does not look overcorwded at all.

Just got the new Sail Barge, a really fun build and it looks so much better in front of you then it does in a picture, I bought it without the figures though, so really need to get hold of Reeyees and Max. I have been custom building all of jabbas court and skiff guards for the past year so its great to populate it with all of my creations.
-
Hi, I have almost finished making all of Jabbas skiff guards and sail barge guards; however, there are still several figures I need for his court, these include: Max Rebo Ree Yees Weequay from sail barge set Ooola Salacious Crumb 3 x Jawa's Greedo (to act as Beedo) Jabba himself Gamorrean Guards Malakili (I made one myself, but the official one is of course better) Rancor I am based in the UK so would prefer to buy off a UK seller, but if anyone has any of these for sale, PM me how much you want for them. I also have most CMF minifigures from series 1 up and plenty of other Star Wars figures for trade if anyone wants to trade instead. And what looks like most of the Lego Creator monster Dino if anyone is interested.

Anyone know a good place to buy just the Kreon's? Ebay UK has very few on it, I'm hoping to build some kind of cybertron like place using lego for my kreon diorama, but obviously first I need the Kreons :)

I hope you gave your co-worker something in return, as that is worth a lot :)

I don't think he's ranting, in fact it looks like he said one little point about it being a fairer price for once and you jumped on it straight away by ranting yourself. I guess you won't agree as you seem like the 'my point is the only valid one' type of person, clearly he feels that the US has it better pricewise, that's his opinion and I imagine many others as well, who are you to tell them that they shouldn't think that? Likewise what difference does it make to right now if you look back 10 years, it doesn't change how much Lego costs in 2012 or I imagine make anyone feel any better about paying more.
