IMO Lego Pirates is set in or around the 18th Century Caribbean era. If you look at the housing, bright colours such as yellow were built back then

I wish Lego would make bow and hull sections 6-8 studs wider to allow for bigger ships to be made

[MOD] 70413 The Brick Bounty in Imperial Bluecoat
Andrew_C replied to banshee3's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice. I like that. I've been contemplating an Imperial warship, though I suspect Lego may have one in the pipeline. I may build one similar to yours still :) -
Thanks for the feedback :) Does anyone have suggestions for how to build up the front more? I'm currently limited to what dark brown bricks I have, but will be looking to BL an order in a couple of weeks. I have thought of building up the front similar to the Imperial Flagship.

Here are some pics of a couple of ships I've made using two of the Brick Bounty sets per build. The local store had $50 off, so with the help of my partner I picked up four of them. The first is basically a double length Brick Bounty, with an extra mast added. I omitted the rear firing cannon and have set up four cannons per side. I added the skull from the 70411 treasure island set. It currently has a crew of 11. 175B The second is a Schooner type vessel. This is still a WIP. I want to make new sails for this one. Still need to work on crew and a few other details like access to the bridge Looking forward to feedback and suggestions Cheers Andrew

I tend to alternate between Lego and building plastic model kits. My favourite theme is City I have an almost 5 year old daughter who has started showing an interest in Lego (She loves the Disney Princess range) and a 3 month old son Looking forward to participating in discussions Cheers :) -
