LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
JasonEffex replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hi everyone, I thought I might pop back onto the forum to hopefully ease people's minds about the prices. I did some comparisons with existing sets on the shop site where the pics were found and it seems that all Lego sets on there are sold at inflated prices, I guess Lego thinks that they can charge more in China? Anyway, I'm confident that the US/EU prices won't be anything out of the ordinary. I am pleasantly surprised by the sets themselves, not what I was expecting but they definitely seem well built. -
Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
JasonEffex replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Heads up for UK viewers, Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu starts airing on Cartoon Network on Monday 4th of November, looks like they'll only be showing one episode per weekday though. Interestingly, they also list it is being season 1.- 4591 replies

It is actually among the top selling themes, it just wasn't put on Lego's infographic for some reason.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
JasonEffex replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I personally always found it odd that the Oni were hyped up as the embodiment of destruction, yet throughout March of the Oni, they don't physically destroy a single thing. In addition, the tornado of creation doesn't 'create' anything either, unlike when it was used back in the early days of Ninjago. Speaking of the March of the Oni special though, it appears that it will finally be airing in the UK in a couple of weeks on both Cartoon Network and CITV (Starting Sep 1st and 3rd respectively). It's a shame that it took this long to come to the UK, hopefully we'll get the Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu soon as well.- 4591 replies

The minifig parts don't even show up if you go through the 'broken bricks' section where licensed parts would be present, so I assume that they just don't have any of the new parts available just yet.
-
When do you think that Hidden Side parts will appear on bricks and pieces? Just built the shrimp boat and while the build itself is great and well detailed, I was disappointed to find that Lego is still having issues with the quality of the minifigures. A few of the printed parts came with the black lines being all fuzzy like they didn't put enough ink on, and one of the torsos of the sailors came with chips and dents round the base. I was hoping to buy some of the other sets too but I think I'll wait until the parts appear on bricks and pieces so that if I inevitably come across more defective pieces, I won't be waiting too long for replacements.

Was just typing my thoughts on the Promobricks article when the leaks popped up. I think that an explanation for poor sales from other retailers would be that the target audience for this theme (generally) don't shop at toy stores and have instead been buying online, hence Lego's descision to sell the sets to consumers directly. With the leaking of more set numbers for Overwatch, I am optimistic that this theme will continue further. If the rumours concerning Overwatch as a franchise as a whole turn out to be true, I think that there is no reason to be worried about the fate of the Lego sets.

I believe that it is simply a piece used to cover the mechs 'eye' when in ball mode; attached to the yellow stud on the front of the mech.
-
Wow, both sets look fantastic! Roadhog has got to be one of the most detailed bigfigs ever made, tons of new moulds just for that one set. I also really like the inclusion of the pachimari. Wrecking ball also looks good, not sure if the sand green is the most accurate colour they could have chosen but the transformation function looks very well done at least. The Hammond figure also looks very cute.
-
Their wording definitely implies that. Comic-con reveal perhaps?
-
So, according to Promobricks, the two sets for the next wave are: 75976 Wrecking Ball 75977 Junkertown Bike Wrecking Ball is certainly a surprise, but a welcome one for sure because I've been playing as him quite a lot lately. Here is a short thread on why, straight from one of the Lego designers. On the topic of LLoyds Mech, I personally won't be buying it regardless of how good it is aesthetically due to its size. I've already had to replace the joints on my Fire Mech and Garma Mecha Man sets multiple times already as they just became too loose. Another problem I have with large mechs are their lack of posability which is probably the most important aspect of a mech or figure.

So, I've been digging around various shopping sites that sell Lego, looking for official summer set pictures, and I came across all the sets for Ninjago. Enjoy! I'm going to keep looking around that site for the rest of the June releases for other themes. Edit: Links removed, all the pictures are on the usual places now anyway. No other June releases seem to be on the site.
-
Last year, official pictures for June releases were found around April 20th, so with any luck, we could see the new sets in as little as three weeks from now, but of course it could end up being longer.

Nya is back to her gunmetal colour, all of them use a new shoulder armour piece to go with the new hoods, these look great!

Here's an article about the theme including set part counts and prices: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/lego-hidden-ar-playsets-augmented-reality-app,38611.html School (1,474 pieces): $129.99 Train (698 pieces): $89.99 Bus (689 pieces): $59.99 Diner (579 pieces): $49.99 Truck (428 pieces): $39.99 ( Graveyard (335 pieces): $29.99 Boat (310 pieces): $29.99 Lab (174 pieces): $19.99 The sets are apparently also going to be shown at NY Toy Fair this weekend. I look forward to seeing them all.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
JasonEffex replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
I'm not really someone who is interested in the City theme, but the space subtheme sounds intriguing. Regarding this years toy fairs, since Lego is actually attending the London fair this year, hopefully this is a sign that they'll show and allow photography of summer sets at Nuremberg and New York. -
Same here in the UK where they're only sold at Argos or Lego stores. I assume that Lego are testing the waters with this theme since it's targeting a slightly older demographic than usual.
-
Built Hanzo Vs Genji and Dorado Showdown today. The builds are good for what they are, the minifigures however are not. Lego really needs to fix this problem with printing skin tones on dark colours, both Hanzo's torso piece and Soldier: 76's head (where the silver colour also suffers) look terrible. Such a shame as I was really looking forward to these sets.

LEGO Overwatch - Wishlists and Future Speculation
JasonEffex replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've been waiting for a wishlisting topic for Overwatch. For general speculation, I think we'll definitely see the Orca Dropship and a Junkertown set soon. I would also like to see more sets based off the cinematics and the lore such as the Talon vehicles shown in Alive and Retribution and some Talon troopers to go with them. Aside from that, here are some of my set ideas: Battle in Numbani (sort of based of the Doomfist origin trailer) Primal Rage Winston, Tracer, Doomfist Payload with space for Doomfist’s gauntlet, Numbani scenery Volskaya Industries (based of the 'Infiltration' cinematic) Reaper, Sombra, Zarya, Katya Volskaya, Mech Pilot Syvatogor Mech, Mech Bay Rescue from Route 66 (based of the 'Reunion' cinematic) Mcree, Echo, Ashe, Bob Route 66 Diner and Payload, Ashe’s Bike Rialto Talon Headquarters Doomfist (formal), Moira, Maximilien, Talon Troopers x2, Mcree, Genji Talon HQ with council room (possibly other rooms not seen in the map such as a laboratory for Moira), Rialto Payload That's all for now, I might add some more ideas later on.- 20 replies

Why do I get the feeling that Nya will be sidelined yet again in this wave? Can't really tell if there are any season 10 sets, or which sets will be the villain focussed ones yet. Since legacy was pretty much all ninja vehicles, I hoped this wave would take a step back in that regard, doesn't look like that's the case though. I hope that I'm proved wrong when we see pictures, but this list doesn't seem all that promising.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
JasonEffex replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I thought that I might just point out that Brickset lists a 'Batvehicle D2C' in there database for 2019, set 76139. -
I personally think that there will be a mix of season 10 and 11 sets in the summer.
