Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
TheAmazingDarkKnight replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think that's entirely accurate. Just this year, Hasbro is releasing an entire wave of action figures (rumor has it that there's going to be more) dedicated to X-Men characters. If Marvel has no objections towards a large action figure company/distributor selling products using X-Men characters, then I highly doubt they would segregate Lego from doing the same. The only real factor at hand for us to get X-Men based sets, would be the sales of the said X-Men sets. Which, going off of what sources have reported, were pretty lackluster..so that's probably why we won't get any future sets or exclusives based on them. But like you were saying, hopefully Lego will start to cease from making highly demanded characters conventional exclusives, as the past two years have been demonstrating. -

Atom by Ya boy rrobert5, on Flickr cap by Ya boy rrobert5, on Flickr #010100110100010001000011010011 (Possibly maybe?) If these are indeed the figures we are getting, the winners would be c0rnedfr0g [Guessed Atom first] & PepperoniBricks [Guessed Hydra Cap first] Didn't see if anyone guessed both correctly at once, so congrats to these fine blokes (that is if they're right...hopefully) -

Completely agree. Although, 'Slightly Larger Than Average Man' does have a nice ring to it -

I get your point of view on Sentinel and Groot, as their designs are incredibly subjective, but for a character like Giant-Man? I don't see how there would be any other way to make him into Lego. Unless they made something completely new, but as others have said before me, that would stem to far away from the Lego formula and would look/feel more alike Mega Bloks or Minimates. In terms of how they always make brand new sculpted molds for bigger figures. So if say the Sentinel were to get an update using the design of Giant-Man, it'd be perfect. -

He is the most detailed, yes, but in comparison to his uniform in Civil War he's really far off. Granted he is based off of concept art so it's not Lego's fault. But, even then it doesn't diminish the figure's inaccuracy. As long as Homecoming features a suit that bears a close resemblance to his Civil War attires, hopefully that will allow Lego to fix the slight issues on the figure to make it more accurate to Civil War. -

Who knows why all of this happened. Perhaps Lego initially put the piece in production exclusively for Green Goblin's Pumpkin' Bomb, but also decided it could be reused and transformed into a head piece for Ghost Rider. Could be anything Whatever the basis, this whole flame attachment nonsense isn't really that big of a deal. Granted it does limit the customizability of other figures, but I'd rather have a flame piece that's molded onto a head but looks spectacular, instead of a removeable flame piece that looks awkward. -

Totally agree. I adore the simple yet sentimental ode to the comics of the 60's/70's emphasized through the mech's wacky design. The vibe is something I personally can't get enough of after seeing the heavily retro inspired Civil War Spider-Man. On top of that, the figures (especially White Tiger and the new Doc-Ock) are terrific. Regarding my favorite set of 2016, mine would definitely have to either be the Airport Battle or the upcoming Ghost Rider set. Both sets have amazing builds and minifigures, making them well worth their value. Hope this trend of more obscure characters and more unique Spider-Man variants continues into the future. -

Not even really, Spidey's arms in Ultimate Spider-Man have more Blue than they do red. The complete opposite of the photographer's arms. -

Give the site some time, plenty of previous waves weren't on the Lego site until way closer to their actual release date. -

I just realized Robin's yellow cape is actually in the shape of Batman's long cape. I quite dig that; makes him more unique. Also could be useful for a different Robin and or Batgirl figure.- 8445 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
TheAmazingDarkKnight replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The light not being white isn't right, that's a mouthful. Honestly though, it appears that the only reason the sabers have a lighter tint on the box, is because of the photoshopping effect they added on to her figure. Which of course indicates to the buyer that she's a brand new figure. -

So, it's hard to see in the photo's provided, but is the Spider symbol on Spider-Man's chest accurate to the movie? Or is it based on concept art just like the Hasbro figure (who's logo is inaccurate)? -

Holy! After coming back from my third viewing of Civil War, this set was a nice (and unexpected) surprise! Unfortunately, pretty much everything that I have to say about this set has already been said. I think the minfigures are top notch, despite the lack of Ant-Man, which make the set worth getting alone. My only real gripe with the set, like what a majority of others have said, is that the builds aren't in the final movie. Maybe it's supposed to represent the truck used by Scott? (If so, "Water" Truck Takedown would have been a more fitting title ) But in spite of what I would consider a "knock off like" build and color scheme, I still think it's a great set. Especially if it's around the $30-40 range, can't beat that. -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
TheAmazingDarkKnight replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
After reading the Avengers article, on top of Local Knowledge's post, I'm almost certain the "surprise" is going to be Spider-Man. In terms of the game, it would be fairly easy for them to reuse the already created animations of Spider-Man from Lego Marvel Superheroes and insert them into Avengers. If it were Guardians of the Galaxy, that would require much more effort for some of the characters would need more updated animations to fit their style (particularly Groot and Star Lord). So, if for the sake of the argument the Spider-Man DLC is to be true, perhaps the fourth set will be revealed in conjunction with this surprise announcement? -
Personally I use it as a landing pad for Spider-Man. Not a perfect fit, nor is it entirely accurate, but it serves its purpose. Plus it provides more scenery to the airport, which is A-OK with me.

Hopefully the fourth Civil War set will be the solution to that. Speaking of which, not sure if this was merely a slip up and or it was already confirmed, but on Just2Good's 2016 summer sets video he does say at the end that I'm probably reading too far into it, and even if I were it's more probable than not that he's going to be included anyway, but I thought it'd be worth noting nevertheless. -

To each is own I suppose. But, whatever the choice is, I just hope they won't pull an Ultimate Spider-Man on us and give us a bright blue. Dark blue is essential. -

I never understood the craze for a red torso, the sides of Spidey's costume are clearly blue. A red torso, in my opinion, would just look incredibly jarring. -

There are definitely three facial expressions shown. How..bizarre. I imagine however, that Lego would just recycle the already existing West head, but we'll see when it comes out.- 8445 replies

I'm glad that he uses the same face print that was used for the Adam West minifigure, as I love the smirk look for Batman. Oddly enough, he doesn't look as though he has dual molding for his legs, but nevertheless still looks good. Might actually have to buy two of these to make a blue and grey version of the New 52 suit!- 8445 replies
