About 1500 people turned up for Japans first national event..with builders from America, Australia , New Zealand , Korea , Hong Kong , Singapore . Was a great event.
There are four registered Lego User Groups in Japan now. Mine hosted it.
Ah Sapporo is a bit far :D . I am in Osaka. Lego is different things for different people :D I am more of a builder.

Perhaps the sets will be more interesting after the movie has been released?

They just don't feel like Lego to me. The Grievous one is ok but the others look like "Galidor strikes back" or Ken heads stuck on deformed robot dolls.

Really an amazing build. It is awesome ! Some very interesting building techniques :D

Definately not worth ¥3240 yen Looks like a nice vehicle (great review) but without seeing the movie and the price I am not rushing out to buy it.
Where in Japan are you? Did you join the national event in Kobe this year?

If you would like to see the Akiyuki GBC or display with him, he is participating in Japan Brickfest organised by Kansai Lego User Group at Canadian Academy in Kobe Rokko Island , Japan on June 4th and 5th. He is such a talented person. He is also holding workshops to teach GBC .
