A sige tower with a troll, orcs and Minas tirith soldier with a catapult. Mumakil with haradrim archers, Eowyn, Merry and a horse. A set similar to "uruk-hai army" only with Easterlings, these guys look awesome!

Potc only has 4 zombies , and only 2 of them really does anything in the story. For the first wave I think the orc options will be very limited if "orc forge" is coming then im guessing 2 orcs. If next lotr wave focuses on ROTK then I think we'll see similar options what we've seen of the uruk-hai.

Just for speculation and comparison. -Prince of persia had 12 new Molds. -Pirates of the caribbean had 16 new molds. -So far we have seen 10 new molds for Lord of the rings (these are the one that for sure are in the preliminary pictures. Yeah theres a room over the door. I would think Theoden, Grima, Eowyn, a soldier/guard and Gandalf. As it is right now it consists of 391 pieces

Sadly no, but you can see how one good mold can be enought for quite a few swords. 1 All these could use one sword Boromir, Gandalf, Aragorn, Faramir, nazguls 2Same with these. Eowyn, Theoden, Eomer aswell as generic Rohan soldier sword

I just noticed, this looks like no lego sword I recall, infact i think the the shapes look like THIS I know this isn't consistent with the timeline of the movies but still, it doesent look like the celcic sword when u look closely. Might very well jsut but the compression on the image messing it up, time will tell . I hope they dont use the celtic sword for anyone cause most/all the sword in the movies are flater and sleeker.

If you are expecting the helmet to be smaller you're propably in for a bad suprise. If not then get ready for some smooth non-sticker ptinting to look wikid. I am rellay looking forward to seeing all the finished minifigures and some glimpses at the sets!

If you look a few pages back you see an image I posted of the minifig from the "index" on the box and it is Haldir! They did not joke around when they called the minifigs collectible there are very few repeats of minifigures in these sets. I really hope they dont do chrome swords, they always looks so out of place.

I sure hope frodo doesent get 2 outfits that is just a shirt and suspenders with diferent colors.

Yeah, Sting in particular seems like it needs to get made, seeing as how its in both LOTR and The Hobbit. Looking forward to our first glimpses at new minifig gear. I also hope the hobbits get a black leprachaun Pot with a handle so they have something to cook all their meals in!

Are we not seeing any Avengers prelim pictures because Marvel is trying to keep things so tight with the alien enemy? Normaly retails would get to see the sets and place orders by now right? like with the rest of the themes we've seen pix of now.

Gandalf has a new beard! So far no sign of a shield for Boromir. The green minifig in Helms deep is a stand in for the kamikaze uruk-hai that lights the bomb.

Its not wierd because none of those scenes in the movies had orcs in them! The hobbit wave should have some orcs in them, unless all the orc stuff is in the 2. hobbit movie.. if so then you can expect propable orcs andmore of a focus on the return of the king!

I think they wont replace the figures from the collectible figs theme.

The gill man look cool, and those bat...men looks interesing, winged arms! maybe we can expect a Manbat minifig for the batman theme.

They didn't on the POTC boxes. And yeah as someone said, these are for sure not photograps. Elander, it appears they will use the normal costume but the set should include white rope for spiderweb. I cant see the names, the best way to identiy fy them is by their clothes, for exampla only one of them got a scarf and they all have unique color combinations.

Gimli is taller cause of the beard extending hes neck, the legs are not new! Also to the people still complaining that there is no Merry and Pippin, there is. look at the minifig index on weatertop and Mines of moria. As for the horse, if you have it horizontal it'll look like its running instead of pranching(?) looks like atleas one leg would connect to a stud that way

Awesome I didnt notice that, but when I check now I see that they are! So we already have the full fellowship. That is excellent and unexpected! Frodo(2 costumes but hes in 3 sets), Aragorn(possibly 2 costumes), and Gimli are the only figures that are used in more than one set.. (aswell as the uruks)

We cant be 100% sure, but as far as i know they have never morphed the shapes oof pices on box art to make it look cooler before, would be misleading. Also there are horses like this in 2 of the images. (Also batman sets have all cgi box art but all the pieces are their natural shapes) I just noticed the microfigures in weathertop used as sculpture/relief seems like a moc thing to do, good on TLC!

Wow Helms deep is suprisingly good and its still just a prelim the tower should be on the left side though! ALSO is that elf Haldir?? red cape no green on him = propably not Legolas! I was really expectin gandalf arriving to include a hobbit hole, but good to see them using a new beard mold for gandalf! For a lego spider shelob looks nice, much scarier than the ususal lego spider. Is Uruk hai army set supposed to be an expansion to helms deep? the new horses looks cool but maybe they would have been better with hinged legs like the new bears? The horse rider in this set looks like Eomer to me! lets hope

The thing about star wars is that they always has something going, tv series videogames comics books etc. The hobbit/lotr wont have anything going for it after the last hobbit movie. so the interest in the licence will propably slow down. I certainly would not mind if it continued for a while. I dont think this theme will be popular than what Harry potter was.

The prince of persia set Alamut already looks quite alot like helms deep so they should be able to design something really good for it! Do you guys think we will see more Lord of the rings sets after this wave? Or will they just keep doing hobbit sets after the movie is released.

If im remembering right i signed up after I first heard about the prince of persia theme coming. Getting the lastest news and glimpses of preliminary pictures are wikid! A think i dislike about the forum is how lisenced themes gets spread around other sections of the forums this is especialy aparent with the recent move of the LOTR thread it clearly isnt historical. Idealy every theme would have its own subforum makes it easeier for new people to get to the stuff they want and keep the forums much tidier.

Man "Shelob Attacks" sounds really unapealing, the scene in the movie was a snooze and so far lego built spiders hasn't been all that. For a replacement set I would suggest "warg attack" or "Arwens escape" As the the "collectible minifigures" information to be releases on the site, expect a page like they did for HP and POTC where they display all the minifigures from the sets
