  1. You mean a Power Puller contest? Looks great. Looking forward to seeing a video of the finished model. Nice to see a different working vehicle, for a change. Like you, I find the standard "go to" excavators and cranes a little repetitive.

Reverend and the Makers - State of Things is the album currently blasting out
  3. 0.XXcm dimensions for the boxes cannot be correct.

    That's a dream delivery ... I'm envious!

    LEGO related injuries?

We recently went for wood flooring. No protection from the Lego but, at least you hear it fall to the floor in the first place :)

    LEGO related injuries?

Ok, we all tread on a brick now and then; it's an accepted hazard of our pastime. What I'm interested in is any other injuries that people have suffered related to LEGO. Personally, I've been suffering for months with tendon problems in my elbow. I had put it down to sport but, I'm now convinced its more to do with the sacred brick than anything else. I'll probably stick with calling it tennis elbow though. Lego elbow just doesn't seem to sound very convincing So, over to you ... any interesting, gruesome or just plain amusing tales to tell?

What other hobbies do you have?

I've never had the pleasure of guidebook writing but, I hear it can be a thankless task. Good luck with it and I'll look forward to seeing it on the shelves.

What other hobbies do you have?

I'm just on the edge of the Peak District. So, most of my climbing tends to be on the Gritstone. As to bold and strong; they passed me by a long time ago. I'm just a bumbly these days, only little way off buying a pair of Ronhills
  9. I spent a bit of time last night looking through my collection and checking what I had that was waiting to be built ... not much! I then decided to move onto B-models and the list of builds yet to be completed suddenly rocketed up. I've always kind of dismissed B-models in the past but, I ended the exercise with a great feeling of anticipation at all the builds that I have to look forward to.

    LEGO related injuries?

If only that was the reality! Then alanyuppie's injuries would be greatly diminished ...
  12. This mod makes a massive difference to the looks. If only TLG would partner with a tyre manufacturer to offer more options. Afterall, it works for F1
  13. Fantastic finished article. I've never been tempted to buy instructions for an MOC before ... but, I am sorely tempted now

Do you have roundabouts where you live?

  15. Fantastic truck, and perhaps the most detailed posting of an MOC I've seen to date. Really looking forward to seeing the video
  16. I'm getting the same issue so, looks like the link.

    What's your workspace like

We have a pair of lit display cases in the dining room, to display and store Lego. Top and bottom thirds are for storage, with the middle third being glass and for displays. The displays get changed round on an almost weekly basis. Sets that are taking a rest from display get stored upstairs, under the bed. The bulk of the standard bricks get stored in large plastic boxes in the garage. I'm starting to think that we may have a little more Lego than we like to admit to ourselves
  18. In that case, from the pictures, it looks like there is a 1 to 1.5 stud misalignment with respect to the height of the front mudguards. I don't think it's a perspective thing, as it appears from more than one viewing angle.

eBay purchases - built or unbuilt

I much prefer to receive the sets disassembled. I've received assembled sets and I always cringe when I open the packaging and see those inevitable sections that have broken loose. If I'm selling a set, I always make sure to disassemble and package it as I'd want to receive it myself.
  20. Ah right, so they are linked to the suspension and move independently?
  21. Looks great, and I too am impressed at the speed at which you build. One question; the front mudguard heights look odd. Is the model coming apart a little, or is it part of the build?

    What did you buy today?

60019 stunt plane with 25% off. A surprisingly nice little set.

The what I did today thread ......

Why do things like this never happen to me?

    What's your most valuable part?

This is a tough one to answer. The most valuable brick is usually the one that you cannot find at the time. For me it can vary from plates, to wheels, to tyres, to bricks, to beams, to technic connectors. An easier question would be, which brick do you never run short of ... that'd be the black technic friction pin 2780
  25. I've been thinking on this for a little while now, and I would love to see a working machine, that can produce something. Nico71's braiding machine is a great example of the type of thing. But, how about a working loom? Or a universal set that could make a number of machines for spinning, through to braiding or weaving? A Lego production line. Failing the ability to actually produce product, a range of scale industrial machines; lathe, milling machine, pillar drill, press. They could offer a good range of set sizes, and scale them to match up with forklifts and transport trucks. Let's get Lego showing how products are manufactured, as well as the finished articles.
