[LDD MOC] 71,000 piece, 13-foot Super Star Destroyer

Fox, an interesting comment was left on your kickstarter. the idea being you outsource some of the work and parts. people could sign up to build sections (or sub structures) and send the resultant builds to you. I know these sorts of builds have tons of trial and error in them, but it could be a novel and fun way to get bricks and help in a mighty large endeavor. if you should decide this option is viable for you I'd be willing to help through this. And as others have said this is just fantastic! the SSD is an amazing vessel and one that deserves this sort of epic recreation.

    Mini-fig displays

I've seen this a few times and thought I could be well used on select rare figures (your examples do nicely for supporting this) but I know me, and I'd then want to repeat it with all of my figures and cost/space would become an issue (for me) still it looks good and provides a nice way to display and protect your figures

does that mean we have to stop talking about Slave I here? and move it all to the 2015 thread?

I'm with you rollermonkey, I've waited about 10 years for them to produce an official UCS Slave I and the only thing that will stop me getting one is availability. Even then that's only a delay.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

3PO has been in 12 sets now, that's quite a lot and 4 of those are cheap sets, all under $25 (droid escape pods (2), land speeder, and Jabba message) it is worth pointing out that C-3PO has never appeared in anything except OT sets!

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

that price was originally listed at Brickpickers, with the tumbler and several other sets, all have been correct so far, reason stands that it too will be correct, but as you say its not confirmed yet. if a set is minifig scale and contains a cockpit, then a minifig (at least) is kind of a must. interiors are just bonus :P

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

(image left in quote for context)the new UCS Slave I is counting out to be about 58 studs long. where as 7965 is approx 70 studs long. also the image you have is no longer considered correct, official length for The Millennium Falcon is 34.75m Minifig scaled, Slave I should be: 62 studs long (4 studs off is a 5% reduction in size, hardly noticeable) and Millennium Falcon should be: 104 studs long (10179 was 104 studs) however the 8097 Slave I, is 42 studs long compared to the 70 studs on 7965, which puts it perfectly in scale. so if your looking for a scale to scale match for 7965, your best option is the (retired) 8097.

best Lego official version of his gun so far: Larger than Pistol = Check scope = Check not a rifle = Check long stock = never going to happen if anyone else has a combo for Fett's gun I'd like to see them (if this is to far off topic, let me know and maybe we can start a thread for this sort of thing )

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

First, Hoth has been done over and over and over again, so to say they ignore TESB is just not true. They Ignore Bespin, 10 sets in total across 15 years of star wars (counting 75060, and micro scale sets). 7 of those are Slave I! 2 are a cloud cars, the other is the now impossibly expensive cloud city set. So if we remove the Slave I’s that leaves 3 sets only 2 in system scale. And only 1 of which includes any part of the city in the clouds. Lego really needs to do something to correct that massive hole.

Its a safe bet there will be engine details, after all the old 2 had them, I just want to know as I imagine you do too, how well the new engines will look.

  18. Added my Bothawui (couple days ago) I noticed the current list shows only 2 imperials on Bothawui... is that correct? I thought more of us had made it there. Link: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=99612
  19. Preface: After that unfortunate end to the mission over Ord Mantell, where i trailed a Fierspray for the better part of 7 hours, only to find it wasn't Boba Fett, or even a mandalorian for that matter. i was sent to the last possible place we might find Fett, Bothawui, rebels love the place thanks to the spy network, and Fett hates it or any place that asks to many questions really. But fate it seems has lead him out into one of Bothawui's few remaining jungles, i can only assume he has a bounty to capture... Gallardo: Drop team we are in position, Go! TK-731: Roger *Team begins repeling down to jungle floor* TK-731: TK-732, and 733 establish a perimeter 734 contain Fett's Target. *team in unison* Affirmative! TK-734: Rebel combatant in custody, area is controlled. Boba Fett: Troops, explain yourselves.... Gallardo: Fett we were sent by Lord Vader with a message, for your eyes only TK-731 will deliver it shortly. Fett: that rebel was my lead on a bounty. Gallardo: understood, he will be interrogated as is procedure any information we gain will be forwarded to you. TK-731: Boba Fett, i have from Lord Vader a message for your eyes only. *Boba Fett reaches out to take the envelope* Imperials and Rebel captive leave Boba with lord Vaders message* "Boba Fett, Thank You signed: Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith" Boba Fett: gee... thanks wheezy.... Well now, Mission accomplished! i hope you enjoyed the story, I've included a pair of pictures in the below spoiler section of the drop speeder. if there are any other angles you'd like to see just ask, this post is already heavy with images so i didn't post all of them. And as always constructive criticism is welcomed! just be quick enough for me to make some changes ;)

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

possibly, but I rather doubt it. the only retailer that would care about an exclusive set is the one that gets it I'd imagine, so a broad catalog likely wont have it (this is all a guess though)

2015 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion

our American Top Gear doesn't stand up to the UK version. Clarkson, Hammond, and May work together so well (in a entertaining way, not a functional way) the American boys are trying to give the same type of show but everything feels artificial, with dialog pre planned. where as the UK boys have a natural back and forth that doesn't need to be planned out it will happen. I also feel that the UK show does a better job of conveying the feel that when they do talk about a car they are speaking from experience, where as the US boys just don't convey that as well (I know most do know their cars well, but it doesn't come through) so here's hoping Top Gear UK sets are on the way, and I can't wait to see these sets, good or bad its nice to see real cars attempted in Lego form once again.
