2015 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
GallardoLU replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
no need to apologize for your opinion Oderland, there are many of us doing the same critiques you are. the 458 is in my opinion the worst of the bunch, and I fully intend to avoid stickers as much as possible. I fully intend to buy the McLaren, LaFerarri and all the Porsches but I hold out on committing completely until I can get a good look at the box in person, or even better the actual models. Also at the scale these cars are built at its incredibly difficult to get it perfect (after all the wheel size alone is WAY to big, seriously these tires scale to about 45inches tall!) over all these are more like caricatures of the cars they represent. -
I'm willing to bet that no one in 6-BBY can date their history back that far after all the galaxy has been at blaster level technology since at least 100,000-BBY. that said weapon styles change quite a lot and it possible to have a blaster similar to a 1800's earth era muzzle loader.

Built the above last night, had to make several changes due to bricks on hand (also the piece used for the headlights doesn't exist in Trans colors as far as I could tell), but this is one strong build i'll post up a picture later on if anyone would like to see it in the brick. Thanks for an amazing GT-R for my Towns people!

2015 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
GallardoLU replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
there is a good chance that Ferrari didn't want to play nice (as usual) with its rivals, specifically with its flagship car. but beyond that I may have been a simple oversight. -
we are talking about 7144 right? I'll admit horrible might be a bit strong but it was far from a good set (that said I still want to get one for completions sake). http://brickset.com/sets/7144-1/Slave-I

I'm guessing you missed the pages of info about the UCS Slave I that is due in January (both in the US and other nations) also the original Slave I was horrible, the second one was great as was the Jango Variant

REVIEW: 75056 Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014
GallardoLU replied to Ritz Brick's topic in LEGO Star Wars
just want to point out that on the poll, it should read Mall Santa..... wait no... Maul Santa -
so I am assuming this one is a straight up most points wins contest. as for the theme/story this is quite interesting I am expecting some amazing builds this round.

I have purchased all of the SWTOR sets so far (I figure we've scene them all by now, but I hope otherwise) anyway, personally my favorite is the Sith Fury set, the model is a bit smaller but the lines and shaping is near flawless. the defender is pretty good too though, I love the figures and as a Fellow SWTOR player enjoy having the ship to balance the Sith forces. lastly I recommend getting the SWTOR battle pack if you can. with 2 troopers from both sides getting 3-4 of the packs can be quite impressive for both factions at once :)

I picked up the new one not to long ago, was my first AT-AT. if your looking to build a second level in the troop bay I recommend going full MOC route. there just isn't much extra room in the body for another floor. and even if you did manage it the snow troopers would be nearly rubbing heads to get in and out. -

should pay? that's hard to pin point. but personally I would never pay over 200 for it, and ideally wouldn't go over 150 for a used set. -
We have the image of her without her helm, (to show off the new hair piece) that doesn't mean that the helm isn't included but not pictured. that said I personally would be very surprised to find a helm in that set. the only example I can think of where a character had multiple head pieces with one not being advertised was Vader in the Rouge Shadow set, battle damaged version was shown but it did have his undamaged helm too.
-
although I applaud your justification I can't help but think you over paid for those parts. there had to be cheaper ways to get them.
-
just picked up a mint 7153: Jango Fett's Slave I I just need to get my hands on 7144, and 6209 before the new UCS hits the street. Also, though much lower priority, 20019 and 6964 to round out a 100% complete collection of Slave I’s

how can you hate on the Suncrusher! its a fighter sized ship that is impervious to all forms of energy and physical weapons while also being able to cause stars to go supernova destroying everything except the Suncrusher. and lets not forget its shaped like a party hat, how cool is that! in all seriousness though I am still a huge fan of EU, even if there are a few absolutely ridiculous creations stuck in there. lets not forget the good ones as well like Prince Xizor's Virago, or the vast list of EU troopers and actually well constructed characters, Thrawn and Bane. I get that EU isn't everyone's taste and I actually enjoy that most things in EU are not official sets, gives me freedom to build MOC's of those things without someone telling me how I should do it. (I just want more minifigs from EU as I don't like going to cloners/re-printers for anything)

I see a lot of people talking about the minifig scaled UCS sets, and feel I should point out that very few have been at this scale (even currently only one is to minifig scale) Ewok Village Millennium Falcon Imperial Shuttle Slave I Possibly also (though I’m not certain) AT-ST Naboo Fighter P.S. the Sandcrawler is Microfig scaled (heroica figs) So speculating that any new set will be at Minifig scale is really a shot in the dark (even if it’s what we want it to be )

LEGO Classic Space fans, this may be something that you may want to add to your collection. Geeky Jerseys has a pretty sweet looking hockey-style jersey which features the Classic Space logo across the chest. The back has a Galaxy Explorer patch with the word Spaceman name. The arms also have a couple of patches as well. Both the Name, and the number can be customized. Web link: http://geekyjerseys.com/product.php?id=199

have to say I'm extremely disappointed i don't get a nifty Fett helm. but it was a fun fight and the Rebels did earn it. can't wait for the next one!
-
I thought I read that those sets were still the prelim images, or at the least looked close enough to them that its hard to tell them apart. and really we have 2 months to go still till we can buy any of them, best to pace our selves. Just2Good wait another 2 weeks before sharing the poster, if they don't leak another way first then let us see

Ok the Bo-Rifle is a collapsible staff about 5 feet (1.5 meters) in length when in staff mode. in this mode it has electric nodes on each tip. near the middle of the staff, but about 8 inches from center, is a pistol handle that can rotate into position for firing. on the other side of the pistol grip is a barrel that in rifle mode is under the main staff shaft, while the opposite side of the barrel is a blade / iron sight for aiming or melee combat. also each tip where the nodes are at flair out a bit (like Luke's saber) before the elecro node. hope this helps some!

the goal is to make something like this: which is rather difficult to scale properly and look accurate (similar to the issues with Boba Fett's Carbine)

[WIP] Rally car
GallardoLU replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Im really curious what era Rally car your headed towards, given what we can see I'm guessing late 70s early 80s, just before the onset of 4WD, and AWD cars. (I only guess that based on the lack of power able to go to the front wheels) -
2015 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
GallardoLU replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
What I'd love to see an a future set is Lotus in the classic black and gold trim. best color combo in F1 history, lead by one of the best drivers in F1 history Ayrton Senna. -
this reminds me of a rather funny video, really drives home the idea that people making decisions don't know what they are saying. YouTube video (don't worry its safe for all ages) As for the Hailfire Droid, I’ll reserve my judgment until I see the final set. and remain optimistic that they get it right.

have you received your Jersey yet? I'm curious how they came out.
