I'm actually running into a bit of that with Lind. He's supposed to be the definition of a lawful good character, but I'm also trying to jokingly play up the Munchkin angle of minor kleptomania*. *Of course, this applies to pretty much any character from a RPing game...

    [LDD MOC] Galaxy Explorer 2015

Very nice - especially the bit about the last 2-3 years - I've been planning to do that with my own Ideas solutions. Well done! A few thoughts on things I might personally change: The Trans-Green 4740 on the satellite dish is a bit distracting - I might try removing that piece entirely, as the dish would look just fine without it. Perhaps the base could have sides that were straight like the original, just a bit more greebled? The curves look wonderful on the engine, but on the base they are distracting.. Again, wonderful model, and as soon as I get my Ideas account up and running, I'll make sure to support it. Edit: Supported!
  3. "I suggest that we each investigate the rest of the house for a few moments so we associate with its layout in our own personal manner, and we then meet again in the foyer for a more organized search." Lind adds the fez to his Inventory, and briefly consults the map. From the direction he was headed, Hoke had gone to the kitchen. Lind decided that he would exit the cellar, investigate the parlour for anything useful, and then go upstairs to the Master Bedroom and search that. After that, he would search the Library, then the Bathing Room, and finally the Spare Bedroom. Ooc: Anything that I find, I will of course share if anyone else can use it better - I'm not trying to loot hog, I'm just RPing the determined searching of a Munchkin.

I'm going Paragon because I'm trying to play Lind as a "Light" type character. Also, the bio for Paragon lists that they are great strategists, and that seems about right for a Munchkin.

One of these days, I'll be a Paragon. One of these days... Has anyone reached Paragon yet? And is anyone possibly thinking of selling a Medal of Glory? I know you can get them in the Fields of Glory, but the chances of Fields opening up matching with my not being on a quest don't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon...

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

Drat. Just found out about this, thought I was the first to spread the good news. Sorry to any forum moderators if my alerting PMs were annoying - I didn't realize it was already posted here, and was a bit excited at being (I thought) the first to break the news... Ah, well. On the good side of things, we get a Green Lantern for only $19.99.

Clever use of the Knights Kingdom II figure - it really works well for a Sentinel!

    Help choosing control panel decorations.

Sorry, but I'm afraid that it wouldn't. The slope on the cheese piece makes the top somewhat wider than a 1x2 tile. If the sticker is small enough, it might just fit, but without an actual example in front of me, I can't directly comment on that. From the list of tiles you provided, I would probably personally pick the second one.
  10. As I was posting a reply on Brickset, it hit me - the T.A.R.D.I.S. is a giant dark blue police box. What Space theme was blue, black, and was related to the police? A little theme known as Space Police. (Or Space Police I, depending on whether you use the theme designation, or not. But, then again, SPIII was also marketed as SP. So, SPI). Needless to say, I was pretty pleased with how this turned out. I probably may even try building it in real life at some point! Download link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6123845

Well, it's more like a "Master list of everything up to Quest 36#," but this is about the closest to that that I believe you'll find on here.

    [moc] LL-129 'CORVUS'

Good job! I like the cockpit - clever idea thinking of using those pieces like that. For some reason the ship as a whole reminds me a little bit of Red Dwarf... Good job especially on the landing gear - you managed to get the exact Neo-Classic greeble style, without making them look either too bulky or too skinny. You might not have put the bumblebee stripes on the cockpit, though - those tend to be reserved for the wings, and I can only remember seeing a singular, not plural use of them... Overall, a fine ship. Any chance you could post the LDD? Looking forward to seeing how it turns out in real life - I'm betting it will look even better, seeing as how LDD tends to make things not look as awesome as when they're built with plastic. Best of luck in the contest - at least, as best as another competitor can offer.

Looks great! I might try changing out the yellow edge tiles for black ones, but other than that, no complaints! Well done!
  16. As he waited for answers to his question, Lind looked around the cellar.* Ooc: *This is just a bit of role-play of my character. I'm occasionally illustrating/rendering pictures of his journeys and quests.
  17. "Just two. Are the statue and the fez* both supposed to be there, and could you possibly give us a map of the house and grounds?" Ooc: *If the fez is supposed to be just a bottle, just ignore that bit.

    Heroica RPG General Discussion

In my spare moments, I've been playing around with an idea for a Space sci-fi RPG in the Heroica style. I've been trying to come up with generic roles, but it's surprisingly hard, since there aren't really that many different roles in space opera, when you come down to it... Scoundrel. Sheriff(SPI/III/individual system or planet). Space Marine. Engineer. Corporate Mook(this one is more of a gag idea...Although it could work...). Pilot(although I'm not exactly sure what abilities you'd give a pilot that didn't require a ship...).

Best of luck, then. I'd offer to help with the management of the wiki, regardless of my personal qualms, but I really can't afford to get invested into another wiki again - as it is, I'm starting to devote too much of my time to refreshing the browser for quest updates...

    Heroica RPG General Discussion

True, but we could start a thread for the project, and the editor could edit our posts in. Of course, that probably might be asking too much of one person, though. Also, I would like to remind everyone again that most of the arguments against updating rather than a wiki, apply also to a wiki. Maintaining a wiki will require just as much work, and more, than updating. We'd have to moderate against trolls(and if you type a wiki, they will come!), continually checking* hundreds, quite likely thousands of individual pages for accuracy*, and dealing with a huge in-rush of people who "thought it looked cool**". *Granted, accuracy problems could happen with my idea as well, but I really don't think that anyone here would post something inaccurate, at least not intentionally - whereas with a wiki, we'll literally be having people making up miles of continuity, and then t6opynfg iut uip lliekd thjis!!1!!!11. **I know that we are a welcoming community here, and new members are always welcome - I received a hearty welcome when I joined, and I would not want to do anything to stop that. But when I'm talking in-rush, I don't mean "new players", I'm referring to spammers, especially in the 13- range. Of course, there will probably also be mature, 13- new players who find the game as well - but if we start a wiki, we're opening the flood gates to the other crowd - and there's a whole lot more of them, then there will be of those who are mature.

Excellent point. That's why I'm suggesting that we set up an official team of people to do it, on a regular basis. Once the original over haul is complete, then it shouldn't require very much work to maintain it, especially if we assign one person to each role. I understand that it'd be a huge amount of work to cover the the missing quests, but we'd be doing that exact same amount of work to start a wiki, and more. I know that alone, or even with only a few people, this could easily be an overwhelming task load, but if we get the initial catch-up done, and one person per category consistently updates(and I mean consistently), this will just as well, and almost better than a wiki*. *Not to mention, wikis are awful for RPing. It's one thing to log into, say, the Library over here, and ask a question - people will see it and respond. But on a wiki? You have to hope that someone's checking the activity feed, and that they know the answer to your question, whereas over here, the whole front(and only) page of the game lists your question right on it**. **Well, not right on it, in the feed stream, but the point stands.

    Heroica RPG General Discussion

I understand why some people might want a wiki for this game, but after having some personal experience with them in the past, I'd advise against it. The whole point of Heroica is to have fun. Now, although having a more in-depth index of everything would be very good to have as a reference, that benefit in and of itself is going to be the downfall. Eventually, people are going to get to the point where they are physically making out maps of quests, and where those quests went, how long they were, and sooner or later, the numbers aren't going to work. And then, people will start saying that "this bit of the quest didn't really happen", etc. It may take a bit before this result happens, but it would and will turn this game from a fun, role-playing experience, to a really, really tightly-bound game, in which QMs have to work above and beyond to make sure they "stick to canon", and "don't break any previously set rules." I know I'm coming off as a bit of a wet blanket here, but I'm only being that way because of how wonderful this game is, and how easily a wiki could ruin that. Instead of a wiki, I suggest that we elect a few people* to read over all of the quests, and carefully log all races mentioned, artifacts, monsters, etc., and then we give the Library, Embassy, Bestiary, Treasury, and Archives a massive overhaul, which will not only avoid any of the problems caused by a wiki, but would solve almost all of the specified ones**. *I couldn't do it all on my own, but I could almost certainly read through several. **If Sandy were to create a category for NPCs, then that would solve any left over problems and concerns.

I think that the Missile Boat might be a little bit too much like real life for LEGO, but this idea is otherwise very well put together(pun intended). I especially like the way that it's five ships in one box* - gives it a lot more "play factor". My favorite bit is the A/I Module - not too fancy, not too plain, much like the turtle in the Exo-Suit. *I was actually planning on doing something like this in my own Spaceship project - glad to see someone else thinks its a good idea as well.
