New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
Vindicare replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh wow, jaw dropping! This is so amazing. I'm actually happy it's not coming out till January, I need to recover from the HP spending spree I just had. A bit of a let down to see Hermoine stole Ginny's clothes...but at least we get that Hermoine. Wow!!! Bravo Lego, bravo! All those buildings are superb, especially Ollivanders. I REALLY hope they release "add-on" buildings to make Diagon Alley complete. -
Minifigures Series 2 Box Arrangement & Distribution
Vindicare replied to desultor's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't know how big the area is or how many shops they have...but an hour? Lame. It also doesn't say in your quote how much they would charge your card...I assume it's the entrance fee. That's a cool idea, but an hour to shop is weak. -
It's alright. It's a bit lacking. Not quite Hogwarts Express, more a normal red train. For one thing, there's no doors on the passenger train car...the inside compartment should've been a little different in my opinion. There should've been benches instead of chairs, or at least two chairs side by side to resemble benches. Overall, I like it, just leaves me wanting a bit I suppose.

TLG overreacting this year with letting to deleate prelim pics?
Vindicare replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Exactly. There's a reason there's a big confidential stamped across the pictures. -
Now that I've gotten and built all my sets, I wonder some things: Ginny has different color wands...The Burrow she has the tan one. In Hogwarts Express she has a brown one. Why does Molly Weasley & McGonagall not come with wands. Why don't we get a "street" clothed Hermoine. A lot of little things about the castle irk me. While I understand it's a space issue, but the interior design is a bit strange. Examples, why only two chairs and no staff table, when there is 5 teachers. The geography of the castle is all wrong. Two seats in the Gryffindor common room when there's four students in that house. No corridors or classrooms either. Again, I'm not complaining about the design/look of the castle. I realize it's not possible to make it as it is described to be, and that's fine. I very much like all the sets in this line. Hopefully, like Lego did in the past, they'll make additions to the castle.

Tsk tsk...shouldn't you be paying attention in class and not perusing these lovely boards.
-
All of these are great looking pieces. I especially like the Wolverine-esque claw weapon!
-
Me too, I got mine today and no alt. model instructions...
-
Between those two, I'd go with the Burrow first. IMO, it's a better overall set with the better looking figs.
-
Very nice review and a very nice set! I however don't remember the Weasleys having a pig...but hey, whatever works! I'm a touch irked though, I pre-ordered all 6 but didn't get the alternate instructions for this, anyone have it and can post up a picture?

REVIEW: Set 4738: Harry Potter - Hagrid's Hut
Vindicare replied to KristofBD's topic in LEGO Licensed
I jut got done putting this together and Im curious as to why Hagrid has fingers? Like he doesn't get staredat enough anyways...now, he's the only person with actual fingers?! -
I'm the same way. I never read any of the books, I actually skipped out on the first movie in the theatre. Then, for whatever reason I saw the second one and so on. Then I read the books and just became hooked! I'm reading them now for the 3rd time now.

Tomorrow is the day(for me) that my delivery is coming and I can't wait!

REVIEW: Set 4738: Harry Potter - Hagrid's Hut
Vindicare replied to KristofBD's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm digging the new roof. I can totally see that Orc shaman living in there! -
That's the best use for the weightlifter! Nice job, haha. Stan is a bit of an exhibitionist, isn't he? Flat out taking off his pants and hurling them into non existence is an interesting call. Whatever floats his boat!
-
Wow, that is awesome. That thing is massive. If you had to guess, how many sets did you use in there? It's a very nice town, not too full or too empty, just the right amount of busy without being too cluttered. Easy to take it all in.
-
That's why you tell TLG what the problem is. Not just I need a new sticker sheet. You need to explain you should have gotten clear backed stickers. Instead, you got white. And of course, what set it came out of. It seems like quite a few...maybe all AT-AT's of this item number have this problem. I say instead of calling, email them and send the pictures in this thread with it.

That's some cool armor on the torso. Nice force.. I like the umbrella wielding one.

ESPECIALLY the 'wimmins'!!!! -
Take a look around here at the reviews(can't remember off hand)that should be indexed and pinned at the top of the sub forums to get ideas of the sets. Also, even just to window shop, take a drive to TRU or a store that sells a lot of lego products, another way to familiarize yourself and see what's available. And of course, Brickset.com.
-
The sticker itself is probably clear, all sticker sheets are white. But, I don't have this set, so I can't say for sure.
-
Bahaha, so he is. I just looked at my catalogue and sure enough, there he is! I just figured they knew, so I never looked...and vie looked through this thing 100's of times. My apologies, Nick. EDIT: just checked the set he comes in, and he has the right one in there, that may have been why I was mistaken. I think he stole the uniform like Hermoine did in CoS so he could fit in, since his cronies aren't with him and he didn't want to feel left out.
-
Who says he's in Gryffindor? Because he's eating at the same time the other students are? Or because he's the only other house student who was made? I'm assuming you have that particular catalogue, take a look and you'll see he's in a gray sweater with a green stripe, as opposed to a maroon stripe. So, Lego did in fact do they're do they're checking of the facts.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

Who's arguing? I just found it funny that because something that has a robotic arm means they're cyborgs. Anyways, I like mustaches, I think ALL Lego mini figures should have mustaches! -

Just because he has a robotic arm doesn't mean he's a cyborg... People who have prostetic arms/hands aren't called cyborgs.
