Hi everyone, I used parts of the official Resistance X-wing and Lego's Jek-14 stealth fighter to create the E-wing from Star Wars Legends. It's still a WIP, but I intend to build one in real life. Maybe you guys have some tips/ideas for this one?

After my small dark age, and still kinda in it since I haven't got the space for larger mocs, I got the Kashyyyk trooper battle pack, AT-AP, Palpatine's shuttle, two V-wings and the latest Clone Turbo tank to make a kashyyyk based moc somewhere in the future.

I would just use the cockpit design from the official First Order Tie Fighter, and mod it, since that is the most round (as in a ball) cockpit we currently have.

Imperial TIE/sf fighter by Brick Viller, on Flickr So I really liked the concept of the First Order in The Force Awakens. However the excecution of their vehicles and troops felt a little short when it came to good old Imperial aesthetics. One of those things that bothered me were the reverse colored TIE fighters. Then I decided to re-reverse the color changes of 75101 (Special forces Tie fighter), back to the Imperial color scheme. I really like this one much more than the original Lego set.

This is one of my first Castle mocs, because I wanted to try something new

Hi there, I’m a guy who likes the color blue, and I also like Lego trains. So as a result of this I like trains in the color blue. However after some research I found out Lego actually has only released two train engines that had blue as their main color since 1980. The legendary 7760 Blue Shunter Locomotive released in 1980 and the infamous 4560/1 Railway Express released in 1999. If you compare these trains to other trains you would say it’s odd that there are far more trains in black, red, yellow and even green. So what could be the reason or reasons that Lego has only released two blue train engines in the last three decades? I think other people can think of reasons, so far I’ve made a small list and will add the ones from others: -It’s not as attractive. Colours have influence on people, it could be that blue has not such effect on people rather than red. It’s been proven that people dressed in red are more attractive, so this could also influence if you had a red train. Also the boxes in the city line always have a blue stripe at the side, and a blue-ish background. It may not look as good when the engine is also blue, even though I think this is not their main reason. -Realism. In my entire life I’ve almost never seen a blue engine. I live in the Netherlands and we have one of the most bussy railroads in the world so that says at least something right? Even in other countries I’ve never seen one. Even so, in Germany most cargo trains are red, and Lego tends to base their models on theirs.

Yeah, that was kinda obvious from the start now was it? Anyway, I really like this wave. The Rebels sets are good and I like we get a nice stormie battlepack even if they're rebels. But I'm not familiar with those dark imperial troopers/guards, can anyone enlighten me on those?
-
Wow. That is awesome! The entire thing is so breath taking. The level of detail is grand and I love the edited photo's. I even thought at first glance the first pic came from the movies
-
Just watched the pilot episode of Rebels. It seems to be more thought out than the first Clone wars episodes, and the setting is nice. The 2015 AT-DP walker and that stormtrooper battlepack look really good, now hoping we get official pictures soon.

& Poll Added -TheBrickster Once again I bought a new police set for a really good price. Anyway let's start with the review. We get 3 instruction books. And a big sticker shead, I had already built the set so I don't have any pics of that, The first book and bag gives us the police motorcycle and the thief's car. A lovely little red automobile which looks like it would fit perfect in the modern city style. The two minifgs consist of a police man and the thief himself. They both look like all the other police and thief figures. The back of the police figure is printed The motorcycle, it looks also like most other police motorcycle's we got in the past 5 years so it's not that spectacular. Back of the motorcycle On the other hand we get the cute and really cool small red car. It's just so well designed that everyone loves it. It has doors and some extra small red slopes which (from what I've heard) are/were rare. And like most City cars it has a stickered lisence plate at the front and back One of the things I like is the inclusion of a gold bar. It's however, not the same chrome gold I'm used to (those were from the older World City line). But still it's clear what it is for. Here's a comparison between the two. The left one is the new one, so that means the right one is the older chromed version. It seems the thief really loves all the gold (so do I), you don't want to know how many money tiles, diamonds and cristals I have so I am happy that we get a bank this year Also new for me are these two new printed tiles with “police' them. I like the fact they made those printed despite I wouldn't mind them to be stickers And here are the two in my city, I think they look great with the rest of the city sets. We continue with the front of the truck. It's a nice looking one, but it reminds me strongly of the older version. Side view, note the lights on top wich can me moved up and down There is also a small door where you can store stuff. Removing the roof is really easy so you can access the interior We also get a new minifig. I really like him, and it adds some variety to the police theme with all it's normal policemenn and thief's. His back has also some printing And he can easily access the truck thanks to those good old doors. Random page of the last instruction book The trailer finished, it looks really good and it reminds me of the ones that I always saw in those classic town things You can raise and turn the radar dish, there is also a door where you also can store some stuff. And this one actually contains some stuff This, it's okay, I guess At the underside is this standard which prevents the truck from tilting while it's not connected to the truck itself. The two doors at the side of the trailer can be opened. It doesn't use any mechanism to hold it in place, so they swivel around sometimes when you hold it sideways. The roof can also be opened which makes it really easy to see and access the interior. I have taken some close-ups because there are some many details. A computer/tv screen with a map, and a wanted poster. Some equipment for the police officer, The flashlight is made from a black lightsaber hilt, never seen it in this color. And we get the middle part. Let's start with the top. Again two computer screens which are stickered. More lower are those two 'new' computer screens, those are printed (close up below). Also we get this nice black coffee machine thingy. Really adds all those wonderfull details. The close up. The printed tiles are really over-detailed. Even if you look close you can see all the letters on the keyboard, like the real things. It really amazed me that they did this. The computer screen are also nice and a good variation of the other ones. And at last we have the tv screen. A new reporter is shown with underlined text saying: 'breaking news...Bank robbery...dog'. The last part is the small prison cell at the back. Idon't like it to much, but it adds some playability for children. There is not to much to see inside. And because I as a kid (and in secret also now, but don't tell that futher) loved those comics. In the next couple of weeks I think the comic builder site will be online, so we can all make our own comics. I also got a code for some extra downloads ont he next page. At the last page we have a picture of the new space sets, I like them so I will also buy them, now I only need to make some more room for the space sets. In conclusion Pro's -Much playability -Really nice vehicles (red car!!) -Nice minifigs -Good price (I got mine for 35 euro) -Gold bar -Many new printed pieces Cons -Price normally is 45 euro which seems a little steep -It has many stickers, but that's just a small con -prison cell at the back looks a little out of place -looks a lot like the previous one (but that one already looked great) I can't see more cons for this set, it's just great and if you don't have the previous one I would recommend to get this set.

Yay! More police! Why not less civilian sets when you're at it? Seriously, I get it, police sells well and Lego needs to make money. But I still hope we'll see more civilian sets.

I'm so happy with this, one of my most beloved themes of my (and many others) childhood is finally coming back. That Skullspider sounds really cool. But can't the name be Spider.. of masks? that would make more sense right?

Should LEGO cut ties with Shell?

Greenpeace...aren't they that group of eco-terrorists with a boss flying an expensive oil fueled jet? On the other hand, now I do feel like getting some of those arctic based city sets... reverse advertisment or something?- 214 replies

Does anyone knows why the Homing Spider droid was never featured in the Clone Wars tv series? It kinda puzzles me for a while.. -
"eeeeeee" sound when using PF train motors
Brickviller replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
As a fellow Dutchman who travels by train, I can confirm this. I always found the sound of some trains here a little to similar to the Lego sound. Glad that question has been answered You can hear the sound in this vid (at least if it uses that PWM stuff) -
For my current second city project I wanted to build a complete new station. Here's a short description: The first version was made over almost 2 years ago, it was one of my largest buildings and by the time most expensive. Only a few pictures were made before this, and the entire city was demolished. Now I still have a great pile of those trans smoke windows. It's one of my best examples of how my Lego hobby went out of control After The Great Destruction my Lego hobby decayed over time. A few projects from that time remain, including another attempt at a new big station. Unlike the previous version it would be less modern, and more rural, However again the sheer size of it would have made it very expensive. Luckely I realized this before it would be finished. The third 'draft' was supposed to become the final station. As you can see it's quite large, and inspired by my Modern house which won the second prize for the LDD design your dreamhouse contest: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/383073 However it was large, very expensive and in the end just not practical. The upper floor was just empty and would be filled with seats, and an information desk. However apart from resting there would be no reason for minifigs to even enter this area, since it was not connected to the platform were the trains depart. Also my city was supposed to become smaller than my previous one, while this station clearly is on the same scale. These were all reasons for me to not finish it. The station also had a small parking lot for Public Transport Electric cars (the ones with the light green roofs), which is one of the ideas that may be used in my city. One of the other buildings I created was also a station, however it was never finished in favour of the one before this Sooo yess, that brings me to the latest prototype station. You may notice it's smaller than any of my previous stations, while still maintaning a modern feel. It also has some neat details, like the OV-kaartlezers and rechargers (oplaadpunt) which are used in the Netherlands for public transport (just google it ). Also it has several drink dispencers, restrooms for woman and men and a small information desk I hope you enjoyed my report so far, I will update it once the station has been build. Also feel free share your opinion

Agreed, I was planning on maybe getting one of the new SW sets. But these prices are way over the top. I wonder if Lego thinks enough people will still buy these sets anyway
-
I really like what you did, it's echoes the original police station, and still looks a lot more realistic and modern. Great job!
-
At least it looks vaguely like an MTT...
-
Is it ok that if I buy that helicopter today I can review it? Or is someone else already working on their own review?
-
I really hope the new Naboo set will be an AAT, or at least contain it. It also makes more sence, because the MTT was never featured in Theed, the AAT was. Also the MTT would probaly consist of several gungans right? The MTT isn't that spectacular to me without proper AAT's to protect it. If it is an AAT it will be the first time in several years I would spent on the SW theme.

That would seem awfully early this time...

Hi everyone, Recently I've begun a new project, which involves a train and a large train station. However I came across various problems in the proces. One of them is that I'm torn between making a choice. This is between choosing for the Horizon express as the passenger train, or using my own skills to create a new self build train. I already own one horizon express, but I still need another one, the PF equipment and rails to make it look decent. Also the HE is an intercity train, while my space is very limited at the moment. A small oval with a large train just doesn't look really good to me. Also the cost make it outragesly expensive. But the train itself is so well build that it's almost too tempting. The other choice is the cheaper one. Build my own train, using parts from the HE and buying the new High speed train (60051) for rails, PF components and the front. Ofcourse this will look less impressive/professional, but it's cheaper, and a three car train suits the layout better. I would like to know what you guys would do if you were in my position.
