I love the detail on the armor plating, especially on the front of the tank. Great job. -

Lego Element ID - What's the logic?

In most cases same pieces have the same first 2 design numbers. In fact, these two numbers might be related to the piece type. -

Make the steering tighter on the front wheels and only use rear wheel drive Gear those XLs up That's probably the best way to achieve drift -

Technic 2015 Discussion and Speculation
anton1678 replied to ghostmind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Who knows anything about the B-Models so far? 42032 has a pretty nice one, is that a pneumatics cyclinder I see on the crane arm? Also, are pictured for all the models for 2015 1H supposed to be on the original post? If so, could the mods post the pictures for the sets not on there, like 42033 -
Painting Technic Parts in ... black?

Technic 2015 Discussion and Speculation
anton1678 replied to ghostmind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
From what everyone is saying on this, you'd think TLG is purposely trying to mislead us with these snapshots. (I'm not saying they aren't ) I've found a ball joint on this, another sign of possible steering. It's right where you'd think a ball joint would be on this One of those knobs in the middle might actually be used for the steering, like previously suggested, because there should only be 3 knobs for the crane One is on the crane (black 12t bevel gear) One is on the base of the crane (tan 20t bevel gear) One is the black 12t bevel gear on top of the black 2L axle extension This leaves one remaining knob (black 2L axle extension), doesn't it? -

anton1678 replied to ghostmind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This shock absorber looks like it is directly connected to the body, and it looks like it would restrict most forms of steering It looks like there's some sort of movable joint connected to the track, there's a red 2L axle visible in connection That might allow movement for steering, but it really depends on how it's connected to the body -

I thought that might be something to do with steering, but they are also on the back treads if you look closely This is probably an extra way to hold it together -

anton1678 replied to ghostmind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If it could steer, they would make it visible in the photo, tilting the tracks or rotating them. I was thinking about how they could put something like rotating tracks in, but those shock absorbers seem like they are restricting such movement -

Looking good! The shape is very realistic in relation to the real thing and the tracks look great The gun is a tad too short, but of course, it would probably bend if it was any longer I really want to see how this turns out in the end- 33 replies

Should LEGO cut ties with Shell?
anton1678 replied to legoman19892's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Greenpeace targets the rich and targets the well known to get attention It strategically targets things that [some/most people] have alternatives for or don't use: Shell Lego Kit-Kat Whale meat iPhone It just tries to get money, and people end up either loving or hating it. It puts you on their side or their enemies side. A good idea for a protest against Greenpeace involvement would be a Shell contest, where we have to try and build something related to Shell e.g. Shell drilling rig, Shell station, Shell truck, Shell oil tower, etc.- 214 replies

Pneumatic Hovercraft Concept
anton1678 posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is just a concept, and I don't really think there is much physics behind it, but would a lego pneumatic hovercraft be possible? There are lego pressure cylinders, so that would be the air we need to lift it up. When air is forced to come out of somewhere, it has to go out, even if it tears through something. The cylinders, however short-lasting the effect will be, will have air coming out of them, so if the hovercraft is resting on part 99021 it will be able to direct the flow of air downwards, which will build up pressure against the ground, and force the hovercraft up. This part is plastic and rigid, so it won't bend, and if we have at least 4 of them we will be able to support a small hovercraft In theory, this would finally be lego "flight" and the air cylinders would just be fuel. If it works well enough, more cylinders could be added and 2 remote controlled fans or valves that blow air in different directions A ground effect vehicle (hovering vehicle) is the best chance of lego ever flying, so I thought this would be the most practical way for it to work. -
Pneumatic Hovercraft Concept
anton1678 replied to anton1678's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's just a theory, I never said it would be practical. My idea is about an internal power supply, and I'm just asking for an opinion Hovercrafts have been made using just balloons and disks, I don't see why lego can't do the same, even if it takes 100 cylinders of air -
[WIP] Geschützwagen Tiger
anton1678 replied to Tommy Styrvoky's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't see how tanks and small artillery should also be glamourised, since they are basically doing the same thing on a smaller scale. It would be interesting to see one with a technic frame and power functions. Someone has already made one in lego, no technic yet. Let's go back on topic, shall we?- 33 replies

Next time build this crazy WW2 rail mounted gun, that was actually built by the germans in WW2. It needs 2 railway tracks quite a large space away from each other just to move The Gustav Gun, or Dora Railway Gun- 33 replies
