  1. The white 911 RSR looks like it's got printed pieces.
  2. Blame the FIA and their 2014 rules that dictated the design of this year's LMP1's.
  3. Um, can I ask permission to do something like an "imaginary review" like the one here: http://jalopnik.com/2015-laferrari-the-imaginary-jalopnik-review-1569839899, or create separate threads per model like the ones on the Technic forum?
  4. Guys, think Porsche 919 met Bentley Speed 8 and had rushed sexy time. I do think that this is a well-made set, only that I think I would have reversed the aesthetic features: 2003-spec front end and cockpit but has a fin like the current LMP1's, not the other way around.
  5. Can I do something like this for the other sets, like the 42039 (my Technic pick besides the Arctic Loader)?
  6. Possibly because it isn't. Look at the Bentley Speed 8 and then 42039 and maybe you might get the back end.
  7. So do I/Let those who diss it diss it; that's none of my business. Porsche 919/Toyota TS040 met Bentley Speed 8. Is that enough?
  8. Look at this: and then this: squint your eyes when you look at both of them, then look at the picture of 42039. If you see it, let me know. For me, 42039 represents what kind of Le Mans rules I want.
  9. 42039 looks like a mix of two Le Mans cars: it looks like half-Toyota TS040 Hybrid (Front) and half-Bentley Speed 8 (rear). Any enhanced version of that?
  10. From the helmets... I don't think so.
  11. Alright: wishing time! What manufacturer do you want next to have models built in this theme? Here's my picks: Aston Martin, Ford and Mercedes-Benz What models per make? Aston: V12 Vantage, Vanquish, DBR9 MB: SLS AMG (stock and GT3), SL65 Black Series, and W05 F1 Ford: Fiesta WRC, 2015 Mustang and/or Shelby GT500 How'bout you? What's your wish picks?
  12. Yes, there is a motherfucking Vespa in that set. This has to sell like hotcakes for LEGO to make something like a UCS version.
  13. BOMBSHELLS!!! BOMBSHELLS!!! BOMBSHELLS!!! And just about PHP500!!! Now I can't wait to see the instructions. NEW WHEELS!!! (I wanna know though, do the new wheels and tires match the current ones used?) Also, the choice of cars... the Geneva Hybrid Hypercar Trifecta! And the RSR's (White is run by the factory and Team Manthey, and the orange one is the Hybrid). Even the F1 cars... I know that dong nose from McLaren!

    REVIEW: 40194-40196 Shell Ferrari Sets

The pit stop set seems to be based on the facilities at Ferrari's Fiorano Circuit where they test their cars: and the black stickered tile on the finish line set is called a pit board with details for the driver (last lap time, position, laps to go, and advantage or disadvantage on the next placed rider). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree that there would have been another car in place of, say, the finish line (The pit stop set is a little better, IMO). But what car? 288 GTO? Older F1 car?
  15. A survey said that TG-themed LEGO was good merchandise or something. I lost the links, though. Also, tick up if more pics suddenly come up. I don't think the logo is the last of the bombshells. I meant the windshield.
  16. Agreed with all.If I had the money, though, I'd buy just 42039. I mean, Le Mans is the more "in" racing.
  17. Well, that's quite a bombshell.Although I don't think that's the bombshell to end this thread.
  18. Not me.And I think these models will be built the way Peter Blackert does his cars, only smoother... and possibly new wheels.
  19. Whoopsie! Never quite found where Racers belonged. It's OK. Ship it there. Aye, chief! It shall come with the singles pics.
  20. The 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours came and Audi Sport-Team Joest was still the team to beat in Circuit de la Sarthe. They've only been defeated twice, and one of those defeats came from a car that used to power an R8C, and after Peugeot got one off Audi's streak in 2009, the four-ringed brand and their R15 TDI went at it again, and even a big rules change in 2011 did not stop Audi-Joest from taking wins left and right when they made the R18. Naturally, the opponents had to match the clout of Ingolstadt. Peugeot's 908 and Toyota's TS030 Hybrid (along with a Swiss team, Rebellion Racing, which was the lone non-KERS coal burner in the LMP1 world for this decade), stalked Audi from the back, occasionally leading and very much giving Audi a fight. The 908 had a far better chance of taking 2011's spoils from the R18 ultra, while Toyota boxed well with Audi when the Pugs left from 2013 onwards. All the while Porsche said they wanted to join the party her sister was holding at la Sarthe, and when the 919 Hybrid came, Porsche fans rejoiced in the return of the original king of Le Mans. 2014 was a blockbuster hit, but Audi still won. Alright, so there's the backstory behind my builds, which are Tiny-Turbo-scale models of the LMP1's that competed from 2011-2014. I built these cars in the style I saw from //prototyp, using LEGO Digital Designer, and rendered thanks to Tom.Netherton. Here they are together: (Top line, L-R: Toyota TS030 Hybrid and Porsche 919 Hybrid. Bottom line, L-R: Audi R18 e-tron quattro (2014-spec), Rebellion-Oreca R-One, and Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 in 2011-spec 908 livery) Sorry, but singles pictures will come tomorrow morning. I have to sleep. I have stirred awake! Here comes the pictures, with links to the bigger one on the names. Porsche 919 Hybrid Toyota TS040 Hybrid Rebellion-Oreca R-One Peugeot 908 Audi R18 e-tron quattro
  21. That might change, though.
  22. The rumor mill has been running for quite a long time now and frankly, with all the hype, from Bionicle to Technic, from Racers/Super Champions to Elves, even Creator and Architecture (hell, even a single packet of grey 32x32 baseplate), it's easy to get a bit out of control. Just ask me. 2015 is surely set to become an amazing year, sure, but of course TLG doesn't want to get things out of hand, and us FOL's do not want to be disappointed once the hype dies down and the sets (and themes) come out. So I ask everyone to calm down, sit down, breathe deeply, and let all the pictures you saw sink in. Then think about these: Surely LEGO would have taken down the pictures earlier, right? Why perpetuate this MUCH hype? Basically, let's discuss 2015 in LEGO here. Let's talk about the sets themselves here, knowing that they'd come, and that's it.
  23. It's for ALL of what's coming in 2015. Not specific themes, but all of them. The basic conversation that I want to start concerns with what came up and how parts of the community are reacting, and that, if we discuss them, we have to keep cool and "control the fires".
  24. Well, 12 hrs late time zone + grounding for 1 week = late for the news.
