[WIP] Rally car
XAxles replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Can I bring this to WRC and win like Citroen or VW? -
Wait, an Architecthure Exo-Suit?

Considering he used the larger lattice bricks that can withstand more weight, and coupled with a 32M axle for a spine on sections here, I guess it's possible to build this.Hey guys, just so you know, this is just part one of three features. There will be two more buildings to be featured here on EB, and one of the is his take on the Milwaukee Art Museum, which was the thing that got rollermonkey in the ER.
-
That's well-made.

OK, sorry. I'm known in Jalopnik as Wheelerguy, in Flickr as Hector Vector, in real life by the nickname "MJ." EDIT: Here in Eurobricks, my name is best pronounced "cross axles". I just got a warning not to post confidential pictures here about the time when the 2015 rumor mill was running in mid-September. I've already posted a MOC here. I've talked with some of the EB community about different stuff. I made a good Vespa joke (if that's even good by joke standards). And yet I skipped this topic. M'mazin', isn't it? Well, since downloading Lego Digital Designer in 2012, my building has been almost non-stop, from small Tiny Turbo models inspired by //prototyp's designs and the good men known in Flickrdom as raphy, tommy, Sharpspeed, and Count Sepulchure, to this SHIP: ...which is late for the party this year. I'm staying here on EB until I fall out of love with LEGO, then come back here when I fall in love again. Now, I need help in rendering that SHIP model I just posted above.

Not much actually... not until next year's SHIPtember.

Oh, whoops.

Huzzah! I have a new walking stick. Now back to meditating. It'll only end once j2g has a video.
-
AW YISS!!!274 pcs for Lincoln Memorial? Hmm... 471 pieces for Flatiron? Ungg!
-
My hermit's walking stick needs changing, just like my motor oil, this week too.

But, you know, SBK is also good to badger to get a license.

Hmm... interesting. It's gonna be pretty hard to get good deets of, let's say, a Ducati Desmosedici GP14 or Honda RC214V, but in general, race bikes are smooth and a tad bit thin, with only a few holes and offsets in front, mostly in line with the legs. And if that's how they look like, new, MotoGP-style exterior molds can save a few milligrams of plastic, and that's OK with TLG.The only thing they have to do is badger MotoGP, the manufacturers, and the riders (yes, riders) to give the license. TLG will tell them they'll sell both play sets and UCS sets, and maybe even Bionicle-sized figs to couple the latter if VR46 wants a tad more. The only problem will be whether or not Dorna Sports will want a separate theme just for them, or whehter it'll slot in Speed Champions. The latter, of course, will make more sense.

Looks like Brickset got ahead of j2g this time. Four sets, right here, found on an instruction booklet somewhere according to Huw: Obviously the parrot is the star of the show. But hey, that's just four sets.

[MT] Technic Model Team Contest - Voting Topic
XAxles replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My picks: 8: 10 9: 6 6: 4 7: 3 5: 2 4: 1 Oh, Coachella. -
Now, will you look at this: Amazing, isn't it? Makes me wish TLG made another set with this kind of motorcycle mold, but in blue. Too bad the tires still have a lot of tread and not slick and more rounded. The toilet must have betrayed him.

No. At least not me. As far as I know McLaren F1 is just McLaren F1, regardless of who powers them. Hell, McLaren can have a choice to make their own engines when their contract with Honda expires. But since they're with Honda again, all I'm waiting now is a new, well-known, non-tobacco company with red and white as main colors. Now, who wants Red Bull and Mercedes for Series 2?

Geisel Library: A LEGO Architecture MOC

A rightful subject, good techniques, and good choices of parts. This kind of build really impresses me. -
Me want the car directly above.

Technic 2015 Discussion and Speculation
XAxles replied to ghostmind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes.Get a copy of the rulebook in Le Mans 2003 to 2010 and pick out some of the rules there. -
I shall wait in my cave, building with what I have, as long as my stick still cooperates (needs a change every 6 months like my motor oil), until the Speed Champions sneak peek site shows up at TLG's website.

LEGO is destroying creative play according to this article.
XAxles replied to legoman19892's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree. Some of the techniques builders use came either from a unique step in the booklet or a smorgasbord of steps, or popped out from seeing a connection. Yes, there is such a thing as death by choking. I understand that. But tell me, outside of Onion articles, when was the last time a kid died due to playing with LEGO outside of a piece lodged in the throat? The white one is 2014-spec 991 RSR, and it's livery (when viewed from top, says: "PORSChe INTELLigent PERFOrmance") will be too much work for stickers... but printing the livery will make the parts too "specialized".If that livery is stickered, though, hold on to your hearts. Also, amazingly there hasn't been boxes for this theme.
