  1. I don't want to point anyone out specifically and the comments are rarely aimed at me personally but I have to say this site seems to have some (not all) exceptionally rude moderators, Maybe it's just a couple and the rude posts stick out more than the regular posts to me, but reading through a thread today I almost deleted this site from my favorites because I saw a moderator go off on someone discussing something they didn't think was relevant. Personally I thought it was completely relevant and I'm sure many others do to. I think it would help if the moderators were reminded this is a site ultimately about building with bricks. Not everything is going to fit into one and only one topic. Even this site puts modulars (which are under the Creator theme in the LEGO Universe) into the City and Town discussion on this site. Not everything is going to fit into a nice little box. And price is relevant to the discussion- to any discussion. LEGO might make the most awesome set in the word but if it's priced at $25,000 and only 1% of the population can buy it, that deserves some discussion. I'm giving this site another chance, I hope some mods will lighten up on the users. Sorry if I offended non-rude moderators, this was not aimed at you. My 2 cents.
  2. I had been building (as an adult) for a couple years and finally ran out places to keep sets, of any size. I still have a handful of sets to build, some large like the Ferris Wheel and a modular, but there's just no where to put them. I'm tempted to start taking apart some older sets and selling them but garage sale season is coming to an end. What do you do when you run out room?

Well, I'm done with Lego Ideas, tab has been closed, likely never to be re-opened. Oh well.

If those speciality pieces aren't in production then it might not have a chance of passing no matter how good people believe it to be. I personally yawn at all Star Wars sets.

I guess the Big BangTheory set hasn't been a very good seller, on sale now for about $12 off regular price.

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

If the bottom left 1x1 is Medium Blue then that door is Medium Blue. It's the same color, even loaded it into my photo editor just in case I'm color blind, the only difference in color between the door and the bottom left 1x1 brick is from the shadow caused by those bricks being on top. Here i copied a circle from the door to the 1x1 brick, aside from the shadow it's identical.

The Secret Service wil jump in front of it. They'll have to take the ball for President Trump.
  8. Growing up in New York City in the 80's and 90's the Twin Towers were buildings you thought would always be there. No matter how old I might get I always imagined I would still be able to see them standing in the distance- when no other buildings are tall enough to be seen, even from the far end of Brooklyn, We all know that was not to be. It has been some time now since they are gone- and I still miss them. This set was my small way of bringing back a part of what I miss. Please take a look and support it if you like it. I have the pieces to build it on order, hope to be able to take real pictures by next weekend. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/79596 Some pictures:

LEGO Ideas - Architecture - The Twin Towers

Thanks, unfortunately it never even made it to 1000 votes on Ideas, but I still have it as part of my collection. I actually bumped it up a but I made the buildings 8x8 instead of 6x6, increased the height to keep the ratio's correct.

I have no idea what "Adventure Time" even is- from the last post, apparently a show on Cartoon Network. Pass.

They're going to have to do something out-of-the-box I'm afraid to keep me. Maybe green-lighting that modular. We'll see.

Honestly I don't know, I'm hoping for something that justifies my time for continuing to frequent the site.

The results of this next review are going to determine if I keep visiting the Ideas site on a near daily basis or I close the tab in my browser dedicated to it and basically forget it exists.

Wish they would have included a classic Lego "ghost" minifig.

There is no way I'd pay $70 for that maze.

    10251 Brick Bank

The problem is it's too small. LEGO is cheaping out. Oil Prices are at the lowest price in over a decade, I know it takes time to see it on their books, but it has been falling for a long time and they still raised the price on this smallest modular to date. They're going to keep doing it as long as people enthusiastically keep buying it and even buying more than one to enlarge it to proper size. We need an organizes resistance to get the larger modulars back and we should stop buying this one until they cut the price and get to work on a Grand Emporium or Fire House sized building. #BoycottTheBank

You should start with the Pet Shop because it's most at risk of being retired.

It's quite common for sets with bag numbers to have large/special parts an unnumbered bag that might be needed at any step. I'm hard pressed to think of a large set that isn't that way.

Based on what? They continue to raise the price of modules while making them physically smaller and using smaller pieces? The purpose of the company is to profit and if they thought they could effectively sell sets without a box at all, they would.

Because Lego Ideas is promoted as a place to share Lego Ideas in hopes of one of yours becoming a real set, it is not promoted as a place where you can (nay, need to) engage social media spamming.

You might become a "staff pick" but that isn't enough to get a quality project 1,000 votes let alone 10k. More than likely without your own push it will get a couple hundred votes, maybe 500 if really good, and be archived in a year.

It's going to be $180 and smaller than the Bank if trends continue.
