[HELP] Tank Width
Kelkschiz replied to oracid's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think you should take into consideration that it's not width so much but the relation between length and width. Because a theoretical tank of any width will have minimal friction when the length is close to zero. I hope you can follow my reasoning. So from the perspective of turning it would be more appropriate to talk about the ideal length. However length is interesting for other reasons as well, as you have shown with you climbing videos ;). But as Sonar pointed out a tank's width is usually dominated by the diameter of it's turret ring. @sonar, thanks for the mention :) -

Looks like you are off to a good start. Nice compact chassis. Looking forward to the IS-7. Don't recall seeing an IS-7 in LEGO. Will be an challenging shape to build i fancy. -

If you are looking for specific bricks, I don't think there is a cheaper way than Bricklink. -
A Power Functions Beginner; General RC Vehicle Questions?
Kelkschiz replied to The Deleter's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
2) Depends a lot on the type of motors you use. However the weak-link is the power-supply. LEGO power-supplies have a resistor that cuts the circuit when a certain amount of current is surpassed. And I have noticed some differences between individual power-supplies. However more than 3-4 XL motors or 2 Buggy motors will likely get mixed results. 4) What I heard so far about PF 2.0 doesn't sound promising. It sounds like PF 2.0 will be less powerful. If that is true most of us will likely want to be using the current system over the new system. A bit like how many of us wish the Buggy motor was still sold... -
Buying PF?
Kelkschiz replied to JaseTJ's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You may also want to take a look at Philo's homepage. He has a lot of info about the PF system on there (www.philohome.com). The Sbrick is far superior to the PF IR system in my opinion. Outdoors the PF IR range is about 2 meters in the sun. You should look into it there are a lot more differences. I always buy my motors new from LEGO. So I know what I buy and it has warrenty. -

I am always amazed when I see stuff like this. I also have an EV3 but this stuff is still way out of my league. Do you have a blog or video in which you explain how you managed to do this? For instance I am curious to find out what program language you used and how you learned to use that. In any case, awesome job. Very inspiring to see.- 6 replies

This is an international forum, and the form of a compliment differs across cultures. In some countries 'quite good' may be a slightly derogative remark, while in other countries it may be the best compliment you are ever going to get. If you are unsure of the background of the comment, in my experience it's best to interpret it in an as positive manner as possible. -

[HELP] Which Technic Set Should I Buy?
Kelkschiz replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think the 42043 Arocs offers the best value and is also the more interesting set to build. -
I think any reasonable person who has followed your channel will agree that you contribute a lot to the LEGO Technic community. You also are very clear about what you can and can't share. Unfortunately there are people who are used to getting everything they want, which is not your problem. As I see it you were kind to answer him to the extent you did. In general it is obvious to me that the person who creates a MOC, or any other artistic creation, is totally free concerning what part of that they share with the rest of the world. A person viewing your creations should be grateful for everything you choose to share. You have always been generous in the amount you choose to share.
