    Your Definition of Dark Age

The LEGO Dark Age is the theme with all those dragons, castles, knights, pretty damsels and such!
  2. Awesome guys, thanks! It's in plate, modified, of course! Why didn't i think to look there? I was looking for in in the technic sections...
  3. Sorry this is a little bit silly. I have a problem, i've once seen a certain part when i didn't need it. But now i need that part and i try to find it on BL and i just can't find it. I been looking for it for many hours now. Does anyone know the ID of a part that looks a little like this, is a part which looks half like a 1x liftarm and the other half like a 1x1 plate: If anybody know this part and the ID, i would be very grateful to know.
  4. I been trying to buy some v2's from LEGO.com but it's been sold out for months.
  5. 8043, at first sight i was intrigued by all the RC functions and when building it i became fascinated by the complexity of the gearing and the elegant engineering. The set was a huge inspiration.
  6. @Erik Leppen, I couldn't agree more.
  7. My first LEGO MOC since i was a wee lad. Fully RC, including shooting mechanism and gun elevation. It will shoot six projectiles from a magazine. Please have a look at: This is a short video of the firing mechanism:
  8. Never say never, when i started i didn't think i could do it as well. And the video yeah, it was my first youtube video, i had no clue, but i learned a lot of things by making it and my next video will be very different. I'll aim to make my next video 2-4 mins.
  9. This is the mark 5-2, which is very similar to the mark 5-1. Technically it is almost the same tank except that i included a turret-ring this time. I did this to give extra stability to the turret; in the previous build the turret was a little too unstable. I also tried to make the turret even smaller. I think this turret is about 30% smaller that the previous one. I believe this is about as small as it can be unless i manage to make the firing mechanism even more compact, which I seriously doubt. Finally, I tried to detail the model a little, although I still have to learn a lot about that, I have always been more interested in technical functions. And I don't really have the right type of LEGO for detailing. Still a work in progress:
  10. Same here. Beautifully compact suspension.
  11. A MOC is finished when you want to disassemble it to build something new.
  12. Despite the fact that this thread has few people agreeing with you, i do feel that this nice lively debate has it's own worth, and it is definitely a subject which most of us have had to deal with at some point. Of course, on this forum, you will mostly find people who already made the choice to share.
  13. i think it is a bit arrogant to see a MOC as something that is a 100% your own design. I think most MOCs get created by borrowing a lot of ideas and inspiration from others, and that should be acknowledge. That is why i don't really believe in the ownership of a certain creation. The truth is, i need other LEGO builders to improve myself. If everyone had to start by inventing the wheel, i know we would still be in the stone-age now. For me it's all about being inspired myself and inspiring other people. In some very real way a MOC not shared, is a MOC that never existed. Its like a writer of a book who doesn't let anyone read his work, the creation may have been a enjoyable experience, but when the writer dies the book dies with him. When a book or MOC is shared it becomes part of humanity and in a way it will never die.
  14. Depends a lot on the weight of the build, the number of wheels and shocks, and the type of wheels and shocks that are used. I like to build things pretty stiff with hardly any defection. Usually it takes a little experimentation to find the right wheels and shocks for a particular build. Until you develop a 'feel' for them.
  15. Beautifully detailed model, looking forward to the video.
  16. That was not quite what i meant to say. I didn't express myself clearly enough. I think using legs as part of a wall is intended use. I think unintended use is using a piece, that is made a certain way and for a certain purpose, for a different purpose that it was not designed for, like the stresses that will apply to it. This most certainly does not include creative use of parts. If the part in question is a moving part it might damage the LEGO, and that would make it 'unintended use' in my eyes. But as i tried to say, i am not sure either way.
  17. There is a way to overcome the lower voltage if you don't mind adapting your LEGO and if you are handy with soldering machine. And yes, it will work. Also yes, lower voltage will mean less powerful e-motors. I only use rechargeable batteries in my battery-boxes.
  18. I am not sure it i'd judge it legal or not. If you put a gun to my head i'd say no; because I don't think it was meant to be used like that. However, I do sympathize with his dilemma. Unfortunately, not all LEGO parts we need actually exist.

    E-100 1/20th (RC)

Hey fellow tank builder. I like your E-100 a lot, lots of attention to details. Great effort.
  20. I was thinking along similar lines, at least it is on my list of improvements i'd still like to make. Thanks for your suggestion. I was thinking about doing it another way, but after your suggestion and imagining how it could be implemented, i see its a better solution.
  21. Thanks for the cool comments guys. The tank is still a work in progress, i still have several ideas to improve the mechanics and after that, i plan to detail the exterior. About the video, i agree its too long. It was my first Youtube video, i still need to learn a lot about doing that. Ow, and yes i am Dutch, I hate my Dutch accent when speaking english :P
