Wait some years, my friend, wait some years...

On the other hand, you could consider that people are making more and more Venators because they like them, and that means an UCS Venator would be quite well received.

well, after the statement posted on the official 2010/2011 News thread, I feel there's a chance the Venator will become an UCS. A giant set means thay are aiming for something either big or full of details. There's a limit to how big you can make a ship. I mean, a 1 mt long Star Destroyer makes perfect sense, while an X-Wing that big would be ridiculous. I suppose, as other have said before me, that they'll either release a venator/Executor/some giant CW series ship I don't know or some kind of city or diorama filled with minifigs and whatnot. I have no ideas for the latter, since they have already released quite a few CW sets, and I haven't seen even one episode of those (I don't like the Clone Wars concept itself). Maybe they will sell a diorama of an important CW city or place, to reel in the children.

Well, speaking of UCS, we should really get an UCS Venator. We already have the midi-scale one, but that happened also with the Star destroyer. 3000+ pieces should do it justice, and I presume that quite a lot of people would be willing to dish some money for it. I would do so in a matter of seconds, for what it counts. On the other hand, I'm quite sure that, following the trend of the last years, the next announce will probably sound like "Hey world, look! New UCS! Ultimate Escape pod! 70 pieces, an R2-D2 and a D3-BO with a new black line on its torso (so uber-new that my brain melted from the excitement), only for 200 dollars! Who could resist such a bargain? Next time, UCS Death Star's Mouse droid. 1 piece. If you are asking for the price, it means you can't afford it".

Just bought it from S@H. I have opened its page on Lego.com at least fifteen times today, but in the end I was able to set aside my conscience and to press that damned Confirm Your Order button I just hope they will announce the next UCS as early as they can: 259 euros were a bit "too much" for this set... (stupid conscience, mmmggrrgr)

I suppose noone is really interested, but I will post it anyway since it's relevant for this thread: neither the Imperial Shuttle nor the Jedi Starfighter will be available in Italy, even for the biggest LEGO shops. It seems that TLG won't make them available here, and people will have to order them directly at S@H with their horrible shipping fees (30+ euros for the most expensive packages when 100% of the shops will send the box for free if you've spent more than 230-250 euros? What the hell? I thought it would have been the contrary!!).

Question: any news about possible/probable UCSs for 2011? I must admit I don't even know if they are released every year, and how they decide which sets they will sell. Are there always 1-2 UCSs every year? If yes, when are they usually announced? Conventions? When one of their screensavers says "Time to show the next UCS, guys"?

Well, speaking of the future 2011 sets, I just hope there will be another huge UCS set. Maybe, if the 10212 will sell well they will consider making another 3/4000 pieces UCS set. I'd kill for an UCS Venator or, even better, for an UCS Redemption. Make it 5000 pieces and I will dish out 500 euros without the slightest regret.

I, too, didn't find the sets on the shop anymore. The Customer service's answer was that the sets were uploaded to the site too early, and they would have been made available for preview as soon as they were told to. In fact, they are now shown again. They probably wanted to make them appear in the shop in August. Dunno why, though. I even feared that the pre-order had been already available, somehow, and they had removed the page after all the sets had been bought. I was already frightened at the thought of the absurd prices it would have fetched on Bricklink if that was true. Brrrr. (I've just bought the 10019, so I wasn't really eager to spend twice the original amount, buying it outside of the Lego Store).
