LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Hmm, judging by one of the smallest pics on the box, the ship seems to be flat-bottomed as we feared. IMHO, I'll wait for the official developer's video on YT before betting my money on this beast. p.s.: I'd really like to know the dimensions of the box. I've always wanted to own one of those huge boxes as those of the Death Star and the MF, though it seems they once again managed to cram 3000+ pieces in a box like that of the Lamba Shuttle. EDIT: from a close-up on those smaller pics, it can be easily seen that it IS flat-bottomed. Congrats on the horrendous choice, TLG. Now please tell me where I should put this monster, in order to see only the top half and not its bottom.

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Wasn't in these days going to take place some sort of LEGO expo? I read some time ago that it was often the time when new details about UCSs were revealed.

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Well, this finally settles the problem. LEGO has officially killed the most amazing UCS of these years. WHy didn't they do this to some obscure and useless ship? Why do this to that... beauty? All just to raise its price by 60-70 dollars with a bunch of ******* minifigs????????

Sigh... I long for the days when UCS sets meant just highly detailed models...

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Maybe they'll open the pre-orders in a matter of weeks to have an estimate on how many sets they should produce in the long run. If not even the hardcore Lego fans are willing to pay for it (and I'm quite sure they'll throw in some papers like the MF's certificate just to sell some extra copies), they'll cease production of the ship one or two months after its release. [and will roll on the floor laughing as its price skyrockets on Bricklink mere minutes after the last one is sold]

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Are so eager to have a new figure in a 400+ euros set just to have it on Bricklink for 100 euros each till the end of time? Thank God they didn't add any new minifigs, or we would have rant threads about it for years (and I would agree with them , even though I don't collect minifigs and never will).

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Well, Lasse Deleuran made an UCS Executor back in 2003, which actually HAS only tubes on his underbelly. Sorry to spoil your fun, Anio, but since you are complaining because TLG "used" your model, Lesse could come here and complain that you stole his. After all, you could have just modified his concept and reversed the studs. hey, you even made it triangular! Ohmygod, it's the same thing!!

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

You could try to demonstrate that they stole your design, and then have them send you one of them for free to shut you up if you manage to generate a big enough thread here or (better) in their own forum (which, btw, at least in the SW section is filled to the brim with roleplayers and nerds). 30 minutes after you've received the package... bling, 400+ euros on Ebay. Easy money is easy.

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Ok, now I'm officially retarded Anyway, sorry, Whung. Your pic does seem legit. Now, let's just hope they don't get too greedy. Even though I love this ship, there's no way I'm shelling out 550-600+ euros for this beast, no matter how huge it is. <=450 and I'm in.

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Could you please post the link to lego's cache? The image looks like a photoshopped pic of the MOC UCS Executor that was shown some time ago on the net. Please understand that I'm not saiyng you are a liar: it's just that such a set would just be like Jabba's palace or a new Cloud City. It seems just that little bit too much "right-on-the-spot", if you know what I mean. Obviously, I assure you I'll be the first to apologize if it turns out to be the real deal. Indeed, if it's true I'll pre-order it in a matter of nanoseconds, since it's just my second most desidered UCS after the Venator Cruiser. Judging by its size, maybe they will once again open pre-orders now for the set, with its release date around next october, just as the MF. Mmmmmmmm... (**drools over keyboard**)

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Maybe they are preparing one of those ultra-expensive UCSs that sometimes pop up during the years. Last one was the Falcon, three years ago. I'm not a fan of the Clone Wars series so... does anyone know if some ship or place has been covered loads of times in the series? Maybe they'll try to capitalize on it by releasing the UCS of that ship or whatever it is. Next February Episode I will return to cinemas all over the world, but it' has already been milked to death (apart from the Amidala minifgure, if I'm not mistaken).

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

I remember someone mentioned this a while ago, but searching for a single post in this thread would be an endless quest. Does anyone know if during the Toy Fair the UCS sets are revealed or at least hinted at? I believe they are they are eventually unveiled during some kind of convention, but I have no idea of which one.

Wasn't a "big" set confirmed some time ago by a leak or by an official TLC employee?

    10215 Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter

Unfortunately, your argumet is already rendered invalid by the fact that between 10030 and 10186 (6 years) the parts/price ratio has been way more stable than in the last one and a half years, where it abruptly collapsed. It should have been logical to see a decrease in the parts/price ratio going from the ISD to the JSF, but, look at that, it's the opposite. TLC has been, ironically, more generous in those years than it is right now, where the parts/price ratio has dropped. I suppose you didn't even check those numbers to see if your theory was right (which it is, just not here). As you said before, I do not care what "fans" presume. TLC lists them as UCSs http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=416&d=322 , which means they are so.

    10215 Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter

Veeery good. Now try again. Read along with me the post just above yours: I will now link the complete parts/price ratio for the UCS sets. Once more: (...)complete parts/price ratio for(...). Last time, now in bold: parts/price ratio. I calculated the parts/price ratio, not the price/parts one. And I even stated it. If your reading comprehension skills suck it's not my problem. I directly copy-pasted brickipedia's prices. If they are wrong blame them, not me. But that's a tie, so let's go on. **Yawn** This is getting reeeally boring. One more time, one more chance, as Masayoshi Yamazaki said. I listed, (sigh) the UCS's prices. I even said it in the heading. I don't care about regular sets. I was compairing, and I hope you noticed that, ONLY the UCSs. These years, whoever decided their price either went completely nuts or completely greedy. Judging by the other UCSs, you can clearly see how the 10125 is overpriced to say the least. The UCSs had a precise trend over the years, and the parts/price ratio I wrote down shows it quite well. Try harder, you'll be luckier.

    10215 Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter

Lol, that's so funny, exactly what I had anticipated some pages ago Let's hope TLC realises that consumers are not a bunch of wild, imbecile baboons, and this set is just horrendously overpriced.

That means the sets he doesn't know of are those which have already been leaked. It gets fishier by the minute, even if we don't count the discrepancies in his list.

No UCS no party. There isn't the the huge set that someone told us of fifty or more pages ago, so I believe, as many other already did before me, that these sets are fake to the bone.

blockade runner 10019 VS tantive 10198

10019 all the time. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I had a blast building it. Also, it's better than the 10198 in every aspect: the latter looks like a set made for playing, whit loads of custom pieces. Every part of 10019 is made of a load of smaller parts, and the resulting effect is stunning. I have uploaded some pics of my 10019, to show you what I mean: Trust me, the 10019 is worth the money you'll spend on it. Just wait for a bargain as I did, there's no need to waste some extra couple hundred dollars/euro now. On bricklink, you can find a MISB one for 500 dollars. Even less if you don't really care about the box's conditions. I saw one with a torn box, but still all pieces sealed in their polybags, for 300 euro.
  23. kamigawa

    10215 Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter

It's a shame they didn't sell this set with an hyperspace ring. It would have been perfect. As of now, 670 pieces + 100 euros = no thanks, I'll wait till their price obviously drops, since people don't like to have their wallet raped without reason. Way to be greedy at TLG. I don't really understand what they were thinking. **Engages cloaking device till S@H's future discount sale** Now, I hope they won't horrendously overprice next year's huge UCS set they have talked about.

    Future Star Wars Sets

Mmmm, the Executor at that price would be impossible, unless we are talking about a sloppy midi-scale model. For an UCS executor they would have to make the set big enough to show all the towers on its top, otherwise it would just make no sense at all. The deck too, is an issue: they have to make the ship big enough in order to have it visible. Compared to the rest of the ship it is quite tiny. I even doubt they could make a midi-scale Executor without screwing up all the proportions just to show the deck.

How you got into lego star wars

I lost interest in them when I was young, in favor of collecting cards. Then, last April, while googling for a Tantive IV model (the Star Wars ship I absolutely love), I stumbled upon the 10198 set. I was simply hypnotized. In a matter of seconds, I felt I needed to start building LEGOs again. This way, I'd have been able to build the ships I most loved of SW, and have fun making them instead of just spending a lot of money on a model. It was by pure luck that I found the original 10019, and I decided I would have waited till I could afford it. Long story short, in May I bought the new gaming pc I needed (2 years wasted after it, it was time to do something or forget it) and then I reorganized my savings. By the end of July the set was on my desk, ready to be built by my (then) trembling hands. Pure bliss. Since that day, I've nearly learnt by heart the number and description of the UCS sets. Although many of them are and will always be a dream (Europe + no LEGO Stores in Italy = UCS sets are a myth here, and even with Euro>dollar Bricklink is not an option, in particular with the oldest sets where regular greedy sellers become absolute rapists), I've already bought the 10212 and I'm in the process of getting a 10175. My grandparents think I'm downright crazy. My father doesn't care. My mother was overjoyed and helped with the 10212 (and would like to build the 10175). My cat thought it would be exilarating to chase some snot pieces around the house, leaving me the painful task of searching for days for the last piece of 10019, while he slept and snored (yes, he does, and he's noisy) on my bed.
