I saw this on The Brick Fan daily email, about a Kickstarter project looking for funding. It is called 'iBrix' and it's a cool idea to use wireless power to light individual bricks. You put a power pad underneath your base plate and the power is transmitted wirelessly to the individual light bricks. Take a look at the link for how it looks and works. So who else is tired of having so many problems trying to order from the S@H site? I know I have. I have to play musical browsers just to make an order or try to find out the status of an existing order. I know a lot of people have been having major problems like me. I find that if I clear the cache, which happens automatically when I quit my browser, I can relaunch it and the S@H site will again work normally, but only for a few clicks/page changes, then its back to malfunctioning. No matter what I do, I get sent back to the front page of the site. I don't know what it is, and its probably a collection of problems, but I think they really should get to work on fixing it. With record profits and all time high popularity, I would think more emphasis on an excellent website would be a top priority. And then there is the issue of the on again, off again confirmation emails. I ordered several things back on Sunday, and still have not received any form of confirmation or status message. I only know that most of my order has been shipped because I went on to the site to look up the order status. Maybe later today I will get a message, but so far, none. Doing this triggers the above mention set of problems! Haha... Today, after having to switch from Firefox to Safari (I am on a Mac) a satisfaction survey popped up on me. So I filled it out, but as usual, it was not geared to actually address any problems that are occuring. So I tried to explain what is happening to me when on the site in one of the comment boxes. I doubt it will get to where it needs to go, though. So they might realize there are problems, but that survey didn't really allow me to point them out. It was the usual stuff, 'would you recommend the site to a friend or family member' etc.... I tried contacting customer support to tell them about the problems I have been having and got a semi-canned response, placing all the blame on me and my browser...not good. I know its something to do with that, but they need to keep the site up to date with the latest browsers, which I know is not easy since they are all constantly being updated. I think the problem intensified for me after Firefox was updated. Maybe they are working on it, but progress doesn't show to me. Thoughts?

I still can't get a category of sets to come up, it gives me an empty page, just the header and footer, with no sets... I can't get it to work more than once, now it won't come up at all. I wanted to search for Friends sets, it brought up the first page, 1 of 3. Well, hit next..and it refreshes with page 1 of 3 again...Show all gets me page 1 of 3...ridiculous..I am using the most recent Firefox for Mac browser..and it is a total fail! I remarked on their customer satisfaction survey about the problems a month or more ago..and apparently, no one reads that criticism...nothing has been fixed for me, as far as I can tell...Total fail! Continuing to troubleshoot, and Firefox and Chrome won't work right on the site.. Safari does work...wow, I need to use only Safari if I want to use the S@H site...interesting...

I just tried to find a set using the new site, I am on Firefox and a Mac, and picking a set category, any category and nothing comes up. Its just the page footer and no content. Nuts! I last used the site a week or so ago, from my iPad and it seemed to work. Only way I got to what I wanted was clicking on the front page and the set I wanted was one of the front page feature sets. Maybe this issue is browser related..I do have the most current Firefox and OS updates..

Hopefully, I took a look at the sample site, and it looked pretty good. Bigger photos of sets, etc. hopefully the functionality is improved!

Did anyone else notice the mistakes in the manual for the NYC set? I just finished mine yesterday. I got it for $39 from Amazon. The instructions swap the base location for the Chrysler Building and Flatiron Building back and forth a few times. I thought I was really slipping there for a minute. Then flipped back and forth and realized that the instructions were wrong!

I did a search on this topic, and it really hasn't been discussed in a while. I was curious about what other's favorite colors might be. I have been gravitating towards the darker earth tones, I have noticed. My favorites are: dark orange dark brown dark red dark tan medium dark flesh I like to build buildings mostly, and want to try and work some of these colors into everything in some way. Trouble is, a lot of the the necessary parts to build a MOC are not available in each of those colors... so there will always be a need for the light and dark bluish gray and white.

I still never get any order confirmation sent. On a positive note, I placed an order yesterday, which included a back ordered item, and today I checked and it's already shipped and picked up by FedEx. Even the back ordered set is in the shipment. Nice. I got the free Mr. Freeze minifig too.

I dreamed up a train station that I have been developing over the last couple months. I wanted to share it here, I hope you like it. Its gotten nearly 300 supporters so far on Lego Ideas. I hope if you like it, you could throw some support at it there. I show it with a couple passenger cars based on the Emerald Night train set, for scale. The platform roof is at just the right height. Its designed to stand alone, with attachment slopes along the platform to attach along regular track sections. There are lots of details from seating to a paper vending machine (I borrowed the idea from the Detective's Office set, though changed the colour scheme). Inside, on the ground floor is a lounge/pub area, and a ticket office and waiting area. Upstairs, on the 1st floor, is a cafe, with a cafeteria style setup to order, select food and pay, then go sit at tables. Its done in yellow and white, like some cafes I know of. There is a ladder that leads up 2 more levels into the tower, at the top of which is a 4 sided clock. The colours I used are dark orange with tan, windows in black, and some dark bluish gray accents around the cornices, and the roof of the tower. The platform roof is dark green. The thing of it is, I built it on the fly, and don't have any instructions. I would have to do it from memory, reverse engineer it.. ;-) A lot of the dark orange came from a 2nd Town Hall and a lot of BrickLink purchases. I think dark orange is on my short list of favorite colors.

I've not been buying a lot lately, but did place an order last Thursday, and just today see that it was picked up by FedEx to ship. I thought maybe they just missed scanning it, but apparently it just sat there for 4 days (2 of which was the weekend), and it won't arrive here till this coming Friday. Not sure if its S@H's fault or FedEx...

The Ideas project has gotten to 847 supporters on the Lego Ideas site. I sure hope it can get to 1000 in time to get an extension to the time limit. Thanks, I did what you suggested, and there should be 13 pieces of 1x4 plate in dark bley, and no extras according to BL. Those parts are only used in the underside of the first floor and in the chimney stack (from the number 3 bags), and I didn't leave anything out... I guess I just got a fluke extra part.

I just finished building my Brick Bank today, Did anyone else end up with an extra 1x4 dark bley plate piece from the bag 3's? I went back over the steps and didn't find anything I might of missed. That's not a part they would give you extras. Thanks.

As I am toying with purchasing a second 'Pet Shop' I was wondering how many others buy multiple copies of the sets. So far, I have gotten 2 Town Halls, 2 Grand Emporiums, 2 Parisian Restaurants. 1 each of the Palace Cinema, Fire Brigade and PetShop. I came too late to the table for the others. I used most of the second Town Hall to build my Ideas project, and the others I plan to increase the size of my GE, and maybe MOC something from the PR. If anything, they are good sources of a lot of brick for the price. With the intro of a new modular soon, I am thinking I might get the 2nd Pet Shop for the parts, and possibly reworking it into my own design. I guess the possibilities are endless. What are your thoughts/plans?

I did that too for a couple gift sets I wanted to buy, and were already marked as 'Sold Out' on S@H. I got them from Amazon though, both for a discount.

I am on a Mac with Firefox, and on Saturday, I placed an order, and got as far as trying to check out, and it would send me back to the front page. I logged off the site, closed Firefox and then reopened and went back and everything worked correctly. Got the order accepted. I still never get any sort of confirmation email..not in the junk folder or anywhere. Its been so long since that worked for me, I don't even bother looking anymore. I just wait till it says shipped on the order status page.

I posted about this in the wrong category, somehow missed this one! I was just wondering if there was anyone else that belongs to the California, San Francisco based LUG called BayLUG. I just joined and was wondering if there were any other members using Eurobricks. It would be nice to chat with other members here since I spend a lot of time on here too. Mainly the Bay Area is a big place and I was hoping there were some members closer to me. Thanks!

Made an order, came to $99.97 so got the gingerbread house...went through without any technical issues. I am sure thats because there are a lot fewer VIPs than general sale customers...
